Thank you very much, CTD! cross

This is absolutely beautiful!! I like it so much that I have gone online to get the lyrics....

"Down to the River to Pray"

As I went down to the river to pray
Studyin about that good ol' way
and who shall wear the starry crown?
Good Lord show me the way!

O sisters let's go down
Lets go down, Come on down
O sisters lets go down
Down in the river to pray.

As I went down in the river to pray
Studyin about that good ol way
And who shall wear the robe & crown?
Good Lord show me the way.

O brothers lets go down
Let's go down, Come on down
O brothers lets go down
Down in the river to pray.

As I went down in the river to pray
Studyin about that good ol way
And who shall wear the starry crown?
Good Lord show me the way.

O fathers lets go down
Let's go down, Come on down
O fathers lets go down
Down in the river to pray.

As I went down in the river to pray
Studyin about that good ol way
And who shall wear the robe and crown?
Good Lord show me the way.

O mothers lets go down
Come on down, don't you wanna go down?
O mothers lets go down
Down in the river to pray.

As I went down in the river to pray
studyin about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the starry crown?
Good Lord show me the way.

O sinners lets go down
Lets go down, come on down
O sinners let's go down
Down in the river to pray.-- prayer

As I went down in the river to pray
Studyin about that good ol way
And who shall wear the Robe and crown?
Good Lord show me the way.

Re: How to make CTD cry/ Divine Presence shown in rivers... - 10/03/10 12:10 AM

Blessings! Shalom, CTD! bible

I have been studying some scriptures relating to the Divine Presence of the Lord nearby waters/rivers. Be blessed by some of these referrals. I have listened to your beautiful song several times. I hope others will as well.

Divine Presence--
ISAIAH 33:21
"But there the glorious LORD will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.

(vs.22) For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us."
----
The LORD comforts His church, (His people)-
ISAIAH 43:18-20 ~

"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.'

"The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls; because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen."
----
Christ, the Water of Life - angelwing

JOHN 7:37-38

"In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, 'If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.

"He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."
(Speaking of the Holy Spirit that would be given after Jesus was glorified, from His resurrection.)
-----
Regarding the preaching of John the Baptist;- cross
MATTHEW 3:1-17
(selected verses)

" "In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

'For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

'Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan.

'And were baptized of him in Jordan (river), confessing their sins.

'But he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them 'O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

'Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance;

'And now also the ax is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

'I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

'Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan (River), unto John to be baptized of him.

'But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

'And Jesus answering said unto him, "Suffer (allow), it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.' Then he suffered him.

'And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

'And lo a voice from heaven, saying, 'This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.' "

We see here that many Bible verses give reference to the Lord Jesus' divine presence showing up near rivers.
So, YES AND AMEN, my brother CTD, 'Let's go down to the river and pray!! prayer

Oh yes, there's a connection.

The only drawback I noticed was the silly barricade. The accessible portion appears too shallow.

How to make CTD and ABISHAG cry --

Totally awesome! All three of the songs, and sceneries are captivating, indeed! "I baptize you in the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost (Spirit)."- bible AMEN!

Thank you, thank you, and thank you again CTD!

It truly doesn't matter how 'deep' the waters are, in which a person is baptized. It's really a matter of the heart. I was baptized as a youngster in a Baptist Church, then again after becoming a TRUE CHRISTIAN, as was our Lord's example (immersed).

I know friends and relatives that were baptized in bathtubs, and in mid-waist deep running river water.

Many people in 3rd world countries are baptized in many ways. Yet, IMO, it is indeed, the immersing of the total body that the Lord initiated (John the baptist).

What a blessing you truly are to so many on this forum, CTD! May God richly bless you and THAT MORE ABUNDANTLY!

Baptism ~- cross

REMBERBER JESUS ~
By: Max Lucado

Remember Jesus --

“Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us.” Isaiah 25:9, NKJV

When people don’t listen, remember Jesus. When tears come, remember Jesus. When disappointment is your bed partner, remember Jesus. When fear pitches his tent in your front yard. When death looms, when anger simmers, when shame weighs heavily. Remember Jesus.

Remember the dead called from the grave with a Galilean accent. Remember the eyes of God that wept human tears.

--------
Never be ashamed to cry. Remember, our Lord and Saviour, "Jesus wept!" JOHN 11:35 (The shortest verse in the Bible.) cross

This one is my absolute FAVORITE! Thank you so much for these reminders that, "Weeping may endure for night, but joy comes in the morning."

Thank you once again, CTD!
-- bible
'When the hot Word of God is poured over a cold, cold world, things break, and it is into that brokenness that we are called, into whatever big or small piece we find in front of us, with fire in our bones, to show a frightened world that it is not the heat of the fire that we fear, but the chill that lies ahead if the fire goes out.'

-Jesus, the Living Water
-Isaiah 55

"It is done...To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life."
(Revelation 21:6)

Isaiah portrays Jesus as a water seller. I've become so used to water coming to my home through pipes that it's hard to imagine someone (especially Jesus!) carrying water, crying, "Come, buy!" Yet it would have been common in the past when the wells ran dry.

Jesus knows we need spiritual water to survive, so He went to great lengths to obtain it for us. We can never calculate its cost, for He bought it with His own blood. Think of what heaven went through to make the Living Water availabe. But for God, no cost was too high.

Jesus offers us the water of life. What will it cost us to get it? Actually, we cannot afford one single cup of it. All our accumulated merit could not buy a drop, let alone a daily supply. Hear the voice of Jesus as He approaches your house: "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy...without money and without cost" (Isaiah 55:1).

It's grace unlimited for thirsty sinners like us. cross
The Living Water is free.
----
The secret of living the revived life in Jesus is to receive, in full, all that God offers us in Jesus.

So come on brothers and sisters, let's go down to "The River"! <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqI_uUVq0Fw>

LYRICS:
Let the poor man say I am rich in Him
Let the lost man say I am found in Him
Let the river flow

And let the blind man say I can see again
Let the dead man say I am born again
Let the river flow (let it flow)
Let the river flow

Let the river flow
Let the river flow
Holy Spirit come
Move in power
Let the river flow
Let the river flow
