Hi Bex,
Yea I had the serum compatibility test done, and the material that was placed in the place of amalgam was the one I was least reactive to. I don't remember its name, but some rasin based material. The Doc. told me that it would not last for long, however. So some replacement would be needed in the near future and the one he reccomended that would last long was in the 1000 bucks range. I am currently looking for something that I am least resistant to but also lasts a few years. Bex, I know that you had bad experience with Diamondite. But do you know how much is it per filling, and how durable is it? I will need to get the replacement done soon along with fillings for the active cavities I have. I am also least resistant to DiomondLite in my compatibility report, so I am thinking about giving it a shot. Also, I do not experience any side effects from the current resin material, but I did absorb more mercrury during the removal and that just added to intial amount.

Hi there, thanks for letting me know. No, I didn't have diamond lite, I had diamond crown (though no doubt they are much the same) and even then I do not know whether to attribute my reactions to that, or dental office mercury vapor (though I had no amaglams just older composites at the time). I had a lot of odd symptoms, but as my health is now very vulnerable, it could have been the local anaesthetic or anything when I look back.
But even when I got them out, I did not improve and in fact got even worse! So who knows?
I'm not sure how much the Diamond range of materials is in comparison with the typical composites, but I do not think they are much more expensive, if at all. I had a quote from a dentist about them and it seemed they were much the same as any material.

I'm glad you started this thread Bex, as I will need to soon decide whether or not to go ahead with materials testing myself. I noticed that Scarlet posted something in another thread about saliva testing for only $90.00, which would be a lot more palatable for me than $300.00 for the serum testing. I just don't really know where to go at this point. Getting compatible replacement materials seems like the most crucial step next to having the mercury fillings properly removed, and yet I feel like I have the least amount of reliable and consistent data in this area to make an informed decision about something that will impact the rest of my life.
I will be seeing my insurance-based dentist this afternoon, so I am hoping that he might be able to answer some questions for me and let me know what my options are from here. But then of course, his opinions may be quite tainted by profit motive. Sorry for venting, just had to get some of the frustration out. Hopefully we can all come up with some good answers for this question over time.

Hi Bex I had the serum test done and have had 13 replacements done between July 12 and Oct 4. It is early on but so far I have not had any problems other than some sensitivity I also was Omega tested and between the two tests my dentist decided to go with Diamondlite. Hope this helps you.

Hi Jason, I'm not sure what tests are the best, but I guess any you can get and as many you can get is the best way to go. The one Scarlet recommends sounds like another good option.
It is really hard to know what to do, we're all taking chances with whatever we end up with. And exactly, we have no idea how sincere these cerec dentists are if they have the profit and dollars signs in their heads, moreso than the patient's wellbeing.
But so many have said good things about cerec, that I would find it hard to believe that so many biologic dentists could all be lying (but then nothing would surprise me, I am so cynical about them all now).
Yes, getting compatible replacements does seem a crucial step, particularly those of us who have a lot of sensitivities and do not need ANY further challenge to our immune system or disruptions. Nothing is full proof, but I just want to go with something that is less likely to cause any issues.
