I can understand how you feel. Have patience and do all that you can do to improve your health. I have been sick for so long(around 23 years) and had 25 mercury fillings. It took over a year for me to have them replaced. My fifth and sixth week of chelation(the chelation began 10 weeks after the last one was replaced) using ALA 50 mg every 3 hours for 3 days in a row went so horribly. I am now taking a few weeks off chelation. When I start again, I plan to just use 25 mg of ALA. Rather than rushing to get well soon, I'll just be happy if my symptoms aren't extreme.I lisened to some talks about vitamin D (WOR 710 radio Health Talk podcasts) where it was mentioned that ideally one should perhaps take 2000 IU vitamin D supplements per day. I am taking 1000 IU per day now , however in the past I didn't use vitamin D supplements. Some have claimed that vitamin D helped cure their gum problems.
The mercury does distort one's thoughts, and does distort their perspective. The one thing to ask yourself is if you are doing what you can do, and how you are progressing. Getting the amalgams replaced is the first step. Chelation is the next step. I noticed that most people try to chelate too aggressively since they want the nightmare to be over as soon as possible. This creates extreme side effects though. One also must take other measures, supplements, diet, lifestyle, etc. to try to improve their life in general.

Hi Mega, yes mercury can cause extreme suicidal thoughts and did so in me. I was close to doing it many times. It's frightening because you do not know if/when you will/might take the actual step in going through with it.
I am sickened by it when I hear someone else going through this and Dr Hal Huggins said the worst thing about mercury, and the one of which makes him the angriest is the fact it can cause suicidal thoughts, and in that respect, has taken people's lives. Even if they have taken their own, their thoughts were not themselves.
I can only tell you that mercury and candida both caused this in me. Due to my memory, I do not know whether you are addressing candida or not, but it is vitally important. Yeast can create severe depression/suicidal thoughts also and MUST be dealt with. Not partially dealt with, fully dealt with. Total exclusion of sugars, yeast, wheat/gluten, coffee, etc (at the MINIMUM). From there, one may also need to reduce or eliminate any natural foods that maybe too high in carbs (depending on how severe the candida maybe). Fruit, potatoes, carrots, corn, peas/beans, and all grains, milk, honey, etc.
If you have treated candida properly and still suffer these problems, then candida may not be involved as much. Also, if it's mercury (all mercury or part mercury), you can find that trying to chelate/detox it can sometimes make the symptoms temporarily worse. Then you can get a patch of feeling relieved, only to find it comes back as more mercury surfaces again from deeper stores. It's an ongoing process because there is usually a very large storage of it and it's a slow process of excreting the stuff and then having more of it surface again, just after you've cleared some out. It's a bit like coming up to the surface and being dragged back under again.
It is very hard to know what to suggest mega. I am really concerned because I know how powerful the depression and suicidal thougths are and nobody can honestly know how this feels unless they have gone through it.
But please be vigilant on diet in the meantime, it is a big part of reducing toxicity inside your body and reducing the toxins inside the brain and other areas that can set off such thoughts. Though the cause maybe mercury, there are many other toxins that can come in because of the mercury. And one is candida, others can be from anything else, because your immune system is lowered and you are poisoned.
Supplements can be helpful too. Mainly antioxidants (vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium (if you can tolerate selenium) milk thistle) - also magnesium/calcium (equal ratios), B complex if you're ok with that, zinc etc. Fats are very important - butter, lard, extra virgin olive oil, fish oil (mercury free), flaxseed oil (you can mix it in plain sugar free acidophilus yoghurt, it's delicious). Just a teaspoon or more everytime you have some yoghurt. Should try getting up to a tablespoon or more each day.
Unfortunately one cannot psychoanalyse the mercury into "coming out" or "being nice" and for me, no amount of therapy, antidepressants worked, but they "can" sometimes help others in this condition. However, you have to be careful because with antidepressants, it's often just more chemical load onto the body and that can screw a person up also. It's advisable to try anything else before you ever do this. If you need to talk to someone, do it. Whatever it takes to keep you alive and i meant that.
These thoughts are not of yourself, that you must keep telling yourself. I remember when those thoughts lifted off me through better health, I was shocked at the change. I was stunned at what i had been living with. At first it was the candida diet that did that (no antidepressants of psychoanalysis did it). But later, after amalgam removal, when I had the mercury dumping stage, I had the symptoms again and the diet "helped", but I had to chelate the poison out of me because it was leaking out into my tissues anyway.
So it took more than diet the second time around, but both worked together in the end. My problems now are viral related and much worse because these things are no longer as helpful, though the diet I stick too, as it's the only thing that really keeps things under "some" form of control. Or I think (I mean this) i would be dead by now through taking my own life. Severe depression is not something that anybody wants to live with on a daily basis. It is terrible and often it's the "unseen" suffering that is the worst!
Take care and please try and hang in there, many of us have been there or ARE there.

Megamathblaster, Hang in there, I know how you feel.. I didn't know what was wrong with me and would just feel desperate rocking in the floor like a baby with all these bad feelings. I had negative thoughts about myself worth. I was in a sort of panic mode, like there was no hope or light at the end of a tunnel. It was so horrible to have to go through that week after week... I wasn't strong enough to follow through with my thoughts, but if it was easy, I would have ended it. I've always felt like I wasn't a good hard working person like everyone else. I kept my house, yard and car spotless to prove them wrong, but couldn't work. I couldn't handle normal emotional stress on a job. I was emotionally weak. My family stereo types me as lazy even though my husband has always taken care of the bills and I have always kept everything ship shape. I would do anything to keep from everyday stress of people.. I wanted far away from them (people).
Hang on..... There's hope....now that you know why this is happening....
It's not easy though...

mega, i dont know if you still have amalgam or not but what happened to me was i got mine done with only limited protection and was way worse after removal, i was completly suicidal, i cant begin to tell you how i felt it was pure torture though! If your not on an anti candida diet then i would def recommend it for your own sanity, and if you do have amalgams, go slowly on getting them out after you have been on the diet for a while. Have you had thyroid/adrenals checked, this is very important, proper meds got me back from being in a black hole. Dawn

Hi Dudley welcome, i really thought all mercury free dentists were the same and i chose a terrible one,not only was i not protected but they removed some teeth improperly and replaced an amalgam with white composite which was a root canal, they said it was safe, not only that but the root canal was only half done many years ago. i no longer visit the dentist now, i try to keep the teeth i have left healthy by oil pulling very gently in the mornings, brushing with tooth soap, and using a water jet between brushings using hydrogen peroxide, this seems to be helping my receeding gums. It is alot to take in all of this, diet is important, you need to keep the liver clean so you can detox and the anti candida diet is also a liver cleansing diet,i take milk thistle 3x a day along with numerous other supplemnts. i see you from the UK,i live near Heathow Airport. IV chelation helped me whole bunches after moron dentists messed with amalgam the wrong way in my mouth.
The doctor used EDTA and DMPS with an IV drip (both, not the fast injections of DMPS except for the initial challenge test) and I would use a DMSA capsule mixed with other stuff in between sessions. It really really helped a lot.
But you have to find a doctor that knows how to do the IV chelation properly. You need to get referrals from other patients. Basically you have to visit the clinic and chat with people a little bit, make sure everyone is happy and healthy.
and you have do to some colon cleansing on your own during chelation (colonics best, enemas good, herbal laxatives good) to make sure you are elimnating properly because teh IV can cause a LOT of heavy metals to be released at one time and if they get stuck in your colon instead of being eliminated you might not get better as quickly as you want to.
After every 4-5 chelation sessions or so they will give you a major dose of vitamins and minerals via IV to replenish your system with good nutrients to replace bad stuff that is coming out and even good minerals that get picked up by the EDTA/DMPS, straight into your bloodstream to make sure you absorb it. You feel really great after that.
It worked really well for me. I was in pretty bad shape when I first went in. That doctor probably either saved my life or at minimum saved me from a life in a wheelchair. There was another woman who would come in, all the way from a several states away she would fly in, and she originally could not walk at all and they got her walking within a few months.

Dudley your symptoms sound similar to mine when I found out I was suffering from mercury toxicity. The insomnia was unbearable. I was exhausted all the time because I could not sleep. Your body really needs that sleep to help you heal. My problem was a number of things, needed to remove amalgams, parasites, candida/yeast, adrenal fatigue, sluggish thyroid, panic attacks, severe constipation/alternating with diarrhea, brain fog, and impending doom feeling. I still have that but it comes an goes and has improved a great deal since I have begun taking charge of my health and doing everything I can possibly tolerate to detox my body slowly. I was super sensitive to everything when I began but I have come a long way. I still have a ways to go but hang in there dudley if you take charge of your health you will get better it is different for everyone at what rate this will occur.
