I am having no luck finding a dentist in the UK who uses diamondlite. Does anyone happen to know of one? All I've been offered so far is white composites, and I'm not happy with those.

I contacted a dentist in the UK who seems to be knowledgeable on removal of fillings, detox etc, and she tells me that we have the same thing as diamondlite in the UK, only under a different name and manufacturer.
I don't know if this is true (I have gone suspicious of dentists beyond belief) but if I get the name, I will put it up. Then perhaps those more knowledgable than me can say if it is the same.

Demi, Yes, please post the information you get from the dentist and we'll try to find out if it's the same as DiamondLite here in the U.S. Plus, if you or anyone else is trying to find a dentist in the U.K. (or anywhere else for that matter) that safely removes amalgam fillings according to Dr. Huggins protocol, you might try contacting his office directly and ask them if they have a referral for dentistis in the U.K., etc. Dr. Huggins contact information in Colorado is: Voice 1-719-593-9616 Fax 1-719-548-8220 Email - email@drhuggins.comDr. Huggins office might even be able to confirm whether DiamondLite goes by another name and/or manufacturer in the U.K. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much, Laura! I'll e-mail right away.
This dentist seems to be more knowledgeable on mercury poisoning than the one I saw yesterday. She does biocompatibility tests, uses dam and oxygen if necessary, and gives advice and help on detoxification.
I will let you know what she says it's called here

Thanks, Russ!
I'm in the north, but as we're such a small country, distance doesn't really matter. I'd rather have the best dentist (that I can afford). This lady is in the south of England, and if she's right about the diamondlite, it would be wonderful because I have a friend who lives in the same town who is most happy for me to stay with her while I have it done.

I looked it up and it says that it contains methacrylate which is classed as a "dangerous component". Does diamondlite contain this?

I don't think I'm going to find a dentist who uses diamondlite in the UK. Is there a list anywhere of dentists in America or elsewhere in Europe that use it?
I really want my fillings out as soon as possible and am starting to get a little desperate! I don't want to replace them with anything that will be irritant.

The biocompatibility test they do is to give me a piece of the composite to suck on for a few days to see if I get a bad reaction. I don't like the sound of sucking on something that contains mucous irritant etc - and also that effects might not shown up immediately.
What do others think?

I've found out that there are some dentists in the UK who use diamondlite - now it's just a matter of finding out which ones. I heard that Dr David Harvie Austin in London does, but I'm sure a lot like me don't fancy going there at the moment!

Demi, I wanted to reply to your earlier post: I contacted a dentist in the UK who seems to be knowledgeable on removal of fillings, detox etc, and she tells me that we have the same thing as diamondlite in the UK, only under a different name and manufacturer.
I don't know if this is true (I have gone suspicious of dentists beyond belief) but if I get the name, I will put it up. Then perhaps those more knowledgable than me can say if it is the same. According to what I found on the internet, Dentsply is a manufacturer in Germany that produces a composite dental material called TPH Spectrum. According to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), TPH Spectrum contains "methacrylate." Methacrylate is toxic to the liver and kidneys long-term and can cause elevated estrogen levels in the body. It seems obvious to me that this is not the same material as DiamondLite, which is manufactured in the U.S. I know I found information somewhere that confirmed that DiamondLite contains no methacrylate, but now that I'm looking for it, I can't find it. I'm contacting the manufacturer to have them fax me a copy of the MSDS for DiamondLite. As soon as we get it, I'll post the information on this forum.

I think you are right, Laura. I'm not happy with this substance or sucking on it.
Dr David Harvie Austin was the one recommended to me from the place you gave me an email address for. He was trained under Dr Huggins(?) and uses diamondlite.
The downside is he's in London, (and right now we're all a bit jittery about going there and some people I've talked to today never want to go there again) but got to keep things in perspective. We've had a series of bomb scares in my home town and I've previous been in London when there were bomb scares.
I've heard there are other dentists who use diamondlite, and made enquiries and will post up anything I find

Absolutely. I've decided I'm not going there. The test you describe sounds more like what I was expecting. I agree with you, sucking on something to see if I have a bad reaction doesn't sound very safe or very scientific. Such a suggestion makes me wonder what kind of quality dentist this is...

I found a dentist that uses diamondlite and a dental dam in removing the mercury fillings and seems reasonably priced, but doesn't give oxygen. Anyone know how safe this would this be?

Thanks, Russ.
I've found a dentist who does it all - dam, filtration, oxygen and diamondlite, but I think will be a lot more expensive and also wants to do an x-ray.
I think I will go with him, though, as it's probably better to have the best possible treatment. My only reservation is he's holistic, and after my last experience with one, I am very jittery.
But I think he will be the best, if more expensive.
Is it okay to have diamondlite with other white composites in the mouth? I'm just going to have the mercury fillings replaced for now and leave the other fillings.

hi demi
i have had terrible problems with composite fillings and the best way to test is to have a bit in your mouth and see how you react. if you get a taste or burning sensation then you will know you are reacting and you can take it out. the blood tests were not accurate in my case and i am in the process of having them changed even though the blood test said they were ok. don't waste your money. the best test i have found is art testing. if you are interested i can give you lots of information so that you dont make the same mistakes as me. having been the rounds of the dentists in the uk i can tell you the names of ones i have found to be good at mercury removal and follow the correct protocol. there are dentists who use diamondlite in the uk and i will try and find out who they are if you want me to. you don't have to go treking to london and pay london prices. where are you in the uk. i live in coventry.
if i can help please contact me via this site.
best wishes karen

Hi Karen. I would be very interested in hearing more about your experiences and which dentists to avoid etc. I haven't decided on one yet.
Please email me if you would like to discuss this privately.
