Apparently it can also among other things help out with Mercury poisoning protecting you from it! I just found this out today. http://altmedicine.about.com/od/herbsupplementguide/a/tulsi.htmThere is alot more on it, I just found this part interesting.
In Sanskrit, tulsi means literally "the incomparable one" and has been revered since ancient times. Tulsi, the holy basil, is said to have grown at the site of Christ’s crucifixion and is associated with St. Basil’s feast.

It looks interesting, however I would want to see it widely used for several years before I try it. I like herbs like olive leaf and garlic better. These have been widely used for thousands of years. LOL it has no side effects man!I use it and I am scared of alot of things. It is an Indian Herb and not well used here, so many will not get caught up on it for years man! I read herbal books and it is not in it alot of times, but for them to pray around it and call it HOLY BASIL it is surely sacred there. Not all is good with the net and things you find on there, sometimes you find good outside of it and that Indian guy gave it to me. I have notta to lose and I have used it for over a month or so, I eel better on it and it works well for me, it is a great herb just do more research on it and trust me it will help you!

BTW this has not been used in India for thousands of years? I have read bad about Garlic too and things it can do as far as side effects when taken in higher dosages, are they all true?
Olive Leaf is harmless as water, I can agree there thats proven and I have book on that, good stuff.
Tulsi has no negative effects man sides some die offs I got after taking it for a month or so, sides that only all positive and good stuff! It has been used in Indian throughout history and they pray around it! It is Holy Basil! Just because it is not big in the states does not mean it is not great, we usually are late on these things here and so on. I will not ask you to try it, but if it works for me for another month or so I will tell you more of what it does for me and you might consider it.

More on it in here, apparently it helps with Mecury more than I thought! This would explain some of the symptoms I get after using it lately! Nothing bad but it is cleansing the heck out of me! http://www.planetayurveda.com/tulsi_uses.htmTulsi extracts protect us against mercury toxicity. We build up mercury deposits in our system from eating fish and even inserting dental fillings. Tulsi helps extract this mercury from our body, thus purifying it.

It isn't just whether the herb itself is harmless, but whether it is available from a high quality trusted source. Some people have become sick from herbs from an unreliable source that were contaminated with toxic herbs. As it becomes more popular, larger and better known herb companies will sell it.
Even some widely used herbs like thyme can be dangerous if used excessively. I realize you are very enthusiastic about tulsi. I am just a bit hesitant and want to learn more about it and see it widely used here for a while before I try it.
Have you seen any US physicians recommending tulsi?
Like I said the US is very late on this here! They don't know all about overseas things they use! I am getting a plant from the guy at work so you know that is pure! Right now I use Organic India Tulsi, which is the best brand of tea out there! Read up on India Organic Tulsi! I will use no other until I get my plant from him which he grew from the ground up! I will not use BS contaminated products out here and hear you there, just read up on it more and maybe I can help you to grow a plant or get the best out there, I will keep you updated on my condition with it JK! I will use it and never steer you wrong! I will never lead you to harmful things! Peace and GOD BLESS!.

BTW US physicians? I don't go by a a thing of what they say! I heed warning on what they say and do the opposite as they are far behind others in the world in natural healing lol.
I will use it for a while and tell you what happens! I am getting a plant from this guy and the leaves from there are much stronger and pure than any tea Organic or not! Let me use it for a while and let you know personally, I promise to keep you updated.

"BTW US physicians? I don't go by a a thing of what they say! " Many of then are jerks, but a small percentage are knowledgeable about herbs and nutrition. One of my friends is a physician, and he is constantly asking me for advice about nutrition and vitamins. Dr. Ronald hoffman has a radio show on WOR 710 NYC. You can download his shows about vitamins, herbs, health and nutrition. http://www.wor710.com/pages/46261.phpDr. Mehmet Oz has a tv show. He gives some good advice about vitamins and nutrition.
