Good question, Nina. I don't feel I will recover 100% from 20 years of poisoning, but I am hopeful that I will improve, and with it my quality of life. OCD has taken a lot of my life away from me and combined with PCOS perhaps my chances of having children. I have so many panic attacks that I really don't know if marriage is feasible for me. I think it would be hard for someone to live with me.
So, from my point of view, if my mental and physical health can improve enough for me to be less anxious, less withdrawn and shy, and able to have a quality relationship leading to marriage, then that for me would improve my quality of life immensely.
I'm just "waiting and seeing", really, and being thankful for any improvement that comes along

Hi Nina,
Getting my amalgams out has made a night and day difference! (Although I wouldn't say I'm "completely" recovered yet.) Even the very day after the removal I could tell a difference. It was like a huge weight had been lifted off my chest and a thick cloud had been removed from my mind. I felt emotionally and mentally much calmer, clearer and happier! In fact, I told Russ it was the first time that I had felt deeply happy in many years. That may sound strange, but it's true. It's hard to describe, but it's like I had a new sense of deep peace and contentment...all the inner turmoil I had lived with for years was gone.
The key for me afterwards was to not detox too quickly. I tried DMPS injections right after the removal to detox fast, and by the 3rd treatment, I was really sick for a couple of days with a very high fever, etc. Of course, I had 20 fillings, so my body burden of mercury was very high. For me, taking the detox nice and slow without re-distributing the mercury has been very important, especially since I run my own business and need to be able to work 12 hours-a-day, 6 to 7 days-a-week.
Proper amalgam removal is so important...I can't stress this enough! I knew how bad I already felt with the mercury in, so I didn't want to take any chances. Like most of you, I didn't have any kind of health insurance, but it didn't matter. I knew that getting the mercury out was the most important thing I could do. I went ahead and put it all on a credit card and have never regretted it. I got my life back, my health back and most importantly, my sanity back.

Demi,
I also feel that after probably 35 years of poisoning that I will always have some problems that will not go away, but like you I am thankful for any and all improvements!!!
My health problems have caused a tremendous strain on my marriage (although I also believe that my husband's own mercury exposure from several fillings and daily massive intake of Diet Mt. Dew also effect things, but he is in denial) and it has been very difficult for me to have to be the blame for everything that is wrong in our marriage while I am also trying to impove my health so that I can be a better mother/wife.
I know that I sound like a broken record, but are you taking lots of magnesium? It helps so much with the panic attacks and anxiety. Also, you talk about PCOS. Have you read any books by Dr. John R. Lee? He has several books, "What your Dr. may not tell you about ...(premenopause, cancer and others) that are very informative. He addresses female hormone imbalances and if I can remember right, also addresses PCOS. Mercury messes up your hormones, but then there are so many chemicals (petroleum based and others) that are estrogenic that females are all messed up today. Natural progesterone cream helps to balance out the excess estrogen. I've seen good results myself and with my 15 year old daughter. B6 is a good thing to take also.
I think that by giving your body the nutrients that it is needing and dealing with the toxins, you should see improvements and being so young that you have a good chance for a quality relationship in the future.

I'm sorry for your marital difficulties. I've seen first hand that some partners are able to cope with illness in their spouse and be a rock, but others can't handle it very well.
It would be nice to have some support (my family and friends are not unsupportive, but not exactly supportive either as they don't want to face that I am poisoned so don't like me to talk about it) but it must be harder to be in a marriage and have to deal with negativism from a partner. Sounds to me like he needs to be a more loving and considerate husband rather than you a better wife. None of us chooses to have health problems. We'd all like to be fit as a fiddle!
My panic attacks are a problem in friendships etc generally and I find that some people cope with me better than others. Usually those who get anxiety themselves understand better. Also those who are better able to empathise and are less selfish personalities cope better with me and appreciate me despite my problems. I don't know how much my phobias will improve, I'm hoping somewhat, but it would have to be a very patient and understanding man to marry me, and I know a man like that is rare jewel. I also presently have physical limitations (one leg has limited mobility because of hip socket problem) so altogether there are lots of things a man would have to deal with, so while I haven't given up hope that one day I will meet someone, I'm being realistic too and accepting that not everyone would be able to cope with my problems.
Thanks for the encouragement I think I need to start taking some B6 and B12, especially being a vegetarian. Some protein supplement would probably help also. I take some magnesium, but not every day, so I should probably start taking it. I've started taking alginate, and I think it is helping already
