Have you tried taking magnesium? If you don't have enough magnesium (mercury toxic people don't), then you can't get the potassium into the cells where it belongs. Magnesium works the sodium/potassium pump.

I am sorry for your awful suffering. However - my understanding is that it is not a simple matter of supplementing with a given mineral. In order for the minerals to go where they are needed to ensure health, we are back to the kidneys, and their condition. A Dr. of TCM could (maybe) help you, especially if he/she is aware of the role of mercury in poor health. A dr. of TCM is far more useful in cases of heavy metal poisoning if they are not narrowly into their own way, but are trained in medicine more broadly. I do think they are out there.
Animals feel pain & suffering just as we do, and they value their lives as much as we value ours.

Don't despair dear! You are not alone. I have been sick for probably 10 years now. Sometime I see things, like a fly or bug went by, but I know it is not really there. And yes I have been plagued with spasmed for a long time. Calcium! Although nothing short of getting the mercury out will stop it the calcuim seems to help somewhat. My brain is foggy all the time, like a sive! Check out dental cleanse group on Yahoo for information on the symptoms of poisoning. Keep your chin up! [color:"purple"] [/color]

Just an update, since it's been about a month since I last posted. I don't want to jinx it, but I have had no shakes or significant mercury symptoms since then. I do get some symptoms, but they are pretty mild and seem to go away rather "quickly".
Anxiety is the most persistant symptom as well as inability to concentrate on tasks such as reading etc.
I have been eating at least one banana every day for the past month. I don't know if this honestly has anything do with the shakes, but I will keep on having one daily. It seems to have a positive effect. Also I have started Q10 and this seems to be going well, my palpitations have minimized and heart beat normalized. Again, I don't know if it's a coincidence as well. It could be just the trend and that right now I'm up on the roller coaster ride...Who knows...Just wanted to report that both bananas and Q10, coincidently or not are having positive effects.
It's now a year after my amalgam removal, so it could be that the symptoms are getting less severe simply because the body has been detoxing for such a long period of time. Either way, just wanted to say I'm still here with all of you guys, hoping that this is all coming to a final end, although I have many after affects that I have to work on, such as getting my energy back, being able to exercise and getting my immune system better etc but I try to take it one day at a time and I keep hoping that the worst is behind me.
Good luck to all and keep positive. And remember mercury detox is a game of endurance not a game of speed as Russ says.
Nina

Shakiness can be a sign of weak adrenals, which are often affected by mercury poisoning. Weak adrenals don't produce enough cortisol, which regulates blood sugar, and so many mercury toxic people are hypoglycaemic. I certainly am. I leave no more than 4 hours inbetween meals, eat protein with every meal, and take chromium picolinate after eating. If I don't eat frequently enough, I get shakey, anxious and very tired. Then I crash. Have a look at Andy Cutler's recommendations for hypoadrenalism / hypoglycaemia. It might help to take some adrenal support.

Adrenal support--- There is a homeopathic remedy that really helps the adrenals...helps with anxiety...It is by Gemmo--It is called Ribes nigrum...Take it 2x a day/...I have been on it for 4 months now.....and it REALLY helps...for shakiness, anxiety and strength and energy....
