A very happy hello from TAche'! I say happy because i am so delighted to have found this forum. Can anybody relate to my symptoms. I have many many physical symptoms listed as classic mercury poisoning symptoms but am a little unsure of the emotional and mental ones. Ive searched for information everywhere on this but it is all so vague concerning mental and emotional symptoms. Anyone suffer from horrific intrusive thoughts, about all the most depressing things you could imagine? Anyone suffer from overwhelming guilt? i feel so guilty all the time, not about anyhting specific-just guilty. I obsess about losing a loved one and am constantly anxious, anxious about leaving the house, i cant drive alone anymore, anxious about doing something new. I used to be so adventurous and out going and this new thing that has "posessed" me is making me so depressed i cry constantly and sometimes cant even remember why im crying. I have suicidal thoughts aswell, not about how or where or when im going to do it, just about suicide and im so PETRIFIED of being alone incase i lose what little control i have and do it. Ive been on a homeopathic remedy for mercury poisoning and it really has helped. Im having my fillings replaced end Feb and will start chelation then. Im just deperately looking for some reassurance here that this is the mercury and that im not losing my mind and need to be locked up in a padded room. Can someone please throw me life line if you've experienced any of the same things. PLEASE PLEASE!!!!

I have experienced all of those thoughts and feelings. I was treated by a psychiatrist for 11 years for OCD but the drugs everntually quit working. I only found out last October that I might be suffering from chronic mercury poisoning and I am still undergoing chelation therapy.
You are not alone.

They there, I've been sick with this for 1 1/2 years now....I felt crazy like that for the first 8months....I wouldn't drive anywhere either..I always felt like I was melting into the ground..off balance..couldn't go into any stores..and when I WOULD drive...I would get freaked out and nervous if someone was driving beside me, or if traffic got busy...I had really bad anxiety...I am A LOT better now...And you will be too...I changed my diet(no sugar /processed food), started eating garlic, and also saw a homeopath....my Adrenals were very weak...I guess this is very common with mercury poisoning...AND your Adrenal glands are the cause of 95% of all Anxiety disorders....so you should support them...I started taking a homeopathic remedy called Ribes Nigrum(gemmo)..as per my naturopath..and it really helps..talk to your homeopathic dr. about it....I've been doing chelation now for 5 months now...and I am so much better..still have a ways to go....but when I first was sick with this, I was bedridden for 3 months..I honestly thought I was dying....and I had hallucinations/bad thoughts...etc,etc..But my anxiety is pretty great now...I can drive anywhere,go into stores...I'm really good that way/...I still have fatigue/some dizziness,twitching,etc....but it is getting better....So don't you give up...YOU will get healthy again...you are on the right track...and you are not Crazy...it is totally the Mercury,.....I feel for you, because I don't ever wan't to relive the first year of my illness Again.......DO you have any strange Dreams???Sandra P

Hello again, THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for your kind words of suport and care, it helps so much, people keep telling me its all in my head and sometimes a person starts to wonder if your not just trying to pin this on the mercury just grasping at straws searching for some kind of reason and a bit of hope to cling to. Just knowing that your not alone takes so much weight off ones shoulders. Thank you again for your replies, and for breathing hope back into my shattered life again.

Hey Tgoss, Make sure you tell your homeopath about all those dreams....they are a sign from your subconscious...on what your body needs or fears...and can help with remedy choices....Our dreams give us so much information...as scary as they are...After my homeopath gave me a certain strong remedy...I had a past life dream...that was scary, but I guess I had been repressing it deep inside...Since my past life....I know this sounds strange, and before I got sick...I would have thought "Past life dream"...that's crazy....but it was so real...that I know that it happened....Anyways...off topic...You should buy the book "it's all in your head"Amalgam illness by DR HAL HUGGINS..it's only $20..AND has so much info in it about Mercury...It's easy reading too.......ALSO, I'm going to pick up some HEPAR SULPH today and try it...thanks for that info....Sandra P <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I can definitely relate to the emotion and psychological effects of mercury poisoning. For me, it was nearly constant anxiety and feeling stressed-out all the time. I, too, had an overactive "guilt complex". I also seldom felt happy. Depression and negativity was the norm for me, although I learned how to disguise it from other people pretty well. Basically, I just kind of tolerated life most of the time and was pretty miserable the rest of the time. Other than brief moments here and there, this was how I lived. Once the amalgams were out, that all changed. My whole mental and emotional outlook is so different, and I didn't do anything other than have the mercury taken out and begin detoxing. Getting the mercury out did what no self-help books, pep-talks, or anything else could do. I feel set free from a lifetime of imprisonment, so-to-speak. I'm feel real happiness and contentment now, I'm optimistic about the future, the "weight of the world" that seemed to be constantly crushing me is gone. Yes, I have "down" times here and there, but I can pick myself up and encourage myself and feel better, whereas I could never do this before. As for Dr. Hal Huggins book, It's All In Your Head, I definitely recommend reading it. It's very easy to read and will help bring all the pieces of the puzzle together. Plus, if you order it from Herb Allure, it's only $12.95 plus shipping (first class is cheapest!). Just know that mercury poisoning is a very real thing, regardless of what any dentist, doctor, friend, etc. will tell you. Sooner or later, everyone will understand. Right now though, with so many millions of people walking around with a mouthful of mercury, they're too sick to even realize what the problem is...most people think it's "normal" when it isn't! Hi TGoss.
What you describe sounds a lot like OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). This has been associated with mercury poisoning.
I started to get these thoughts when I was about 10. They crept up on me slowly after I started having fillings, along with the physical symptoms. My anxiety got worse and worse until by the age of 12 I had OCD. I was anxious 24/7 and had very little control of my thoughts. I used to be sick with worry when my parents would go out and was constantly terrified of disasters and such happening. I would cry a lot and everything was frightening. I also had a phobia of germs and would have to make sure everything was clean. I couldn't go to bed until everything was in it's right place. I would sit in school assembly ringing my hands and I had very little interest in my appearance and things like that as I spent the whole day just worrying about everyone. Those were terrible years.
This got better when I stopped gettiing the fillings, had my braces out and became a vegetarian (no longer ate seafood) but anxiety and phobias still plague me as well as compulsion to blink, which comes and goes. I get panic attacks in lots of situations and often need to double or triple check things. I have a lot of phobias and this makes social and romantic relationships difficult. I wake up with panic attacks in the night sometimes and have to put the light on. If I get intrusive thoughts I try to force them out and take control. Alginate has helped a little the past few months.
I used to be a very confident child who loved to talk and perform in front of people, but after I got fillings I became very withdrawn and suicidal a lot.
I do believe mercury is responsible for what happened to me, and is why I still get so many phobias. I am hoping it will lessen when I get the fillings replaced.

TGoss, I completely relate to your emotional issues, and let me tell you, since my amalgams have been removed, I am a new person. The depression, suicidal thoughts, fear of being alone, fear of the dark (and other irrational fears) are gone, GONE, GONE!!!I cried on average of 3 times per week (usually at night) all through my high school years from lonliness and depresssion. I tried killing myself but had an intervention. Suicide was constantly on my mind. I thought the whole world had these issues. Now I know it was all caused by mercury. Now, my life is completely different (my removal was in July 2000) and there is tons of hope for anyone suffering from any negative emotions because mercury causes them. Take care and know that there is a very bright light at the end of the tunnel. My story, in case you're interested: http://herballure.com/mms

I too feel the constant fear,i used to be outgoing, and spontaneous, but now i'm like a cowardly loner,i don't socialize much. I dream of the day i will be normal again,it's like everything is moving in a forward directin, and i am just standing still while everything progresses.

I am almost 6mths post amalgam removal. On my bad days i live in fear and its probably one of my worst symtoms, its hard to explain, its like something terrible is about to happen and i have no control over it.
