I am doing a gentle detox..and trying to eat right..taking lots of supplements...and my hair is getting thinner and thinner...I feel like crying almost every day...I'm actually getting a bald spot in the front...I'm am so scared that I will lose most of it...I had a full head of hair last year...but 3 months after I collapsed with mercury poisoning(it hit me like a rock)...I started to lose it..and you can see my scalp.....Does anyone out there know if hair grows back after detox?Thanks...it is so depressing...Sandra P

I went through a phrase when my hair was exceptionally thin. and I noticed I was losing it. But while it's still not as thick as it was, I've noticed a little more body in the past couple of years, although it is still thin.
So, you may well find that your hair thickens again as the mercury level in your body decreases. I've had mercury poisoning since childhood, and going by my symptoms, the mercury level in my body changes depending on what dental work I've had done, my diet and lifestyle.
So, it is my humble opinion that the symptoms come and go. This may be why some people with neurological diseases etc get times when they are better than others, because they really have mercury poisoning and the level fluctuatues or the mercury moves etc.
Hang in there <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I read in the book "Longevity" by Burton Goldberg (page 143) that Biotin ( a member of the B vitamin family) helps prevent baldness & graying of hair. Also page 144 says that Insitol ( another member of the B vitamin family) helps with male pattern baldness. I firmly beleive in Burton Goldberg's books. They are very informative. It might be woth a shot.

An underactive thyroid will also cause hair loss. It is worth looking into and quite straightforward to treat. If you have mercury toxicity you almost certainly have thyroid issues. Get the doctor to test for Free T4 and T3 levels - the TSH test is meaningless - and you may consider a combination T3 / T4 treatment. Have a look at these links. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/long-and-pathetic/ <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> http://www.mercola.com/article/hypothyroid/diagnosis.htm <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Sandra
Russ mentioned high levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This is typical for females who have polycystic ovary syndrome. Do you know if you suffer from this? If you have this condition it is important to keep your blood sugar levels steady at all times. No sugar or high glycemic food can be eaten. Protein is essential with each meal. High blood sugar worsens PCOS and more DHT is produced meaning more male pattern baldness.......Just a thought.....

Eating extra virgin coconut oil and extra B vitamins really helped me stop my hair loss and of course sticking to the candida diet.
Best luck, Sandi xoxo
