I've have horrible insomnia, actually many nights I am up ALL night long. Being mercury toxic and in surgical menopause is a brutal combination. (Can't take any type of hormones to help.....endometriosis <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Anyhow I had my final two fillings removed last Thursday and last night was really bad with "head symptoms" ringing in the ears and I think I got up to pee around 12 times. My thought was that maybe my body is dumping the mercury....has this happened to anyone? Any ideas for insomnia?

Bless your heart you are going through a lot at one time. As far as the surgical menopause, you need to read Dr. John R. Lee's book," What your Dr. may not tell you about premenopause" (or the one on menopause) he tells about needing to use natural progesterone (not synthetic like the Drs. put you on and not estrogen). You might find this book at your local library.

Start taking magnesium for the insomnia and the frequent urination. I had the same thing. I think that the f. u. is your body trying to balance the electrolytes by flushing out the excess things that it bothering it. Don't take calcium supplements and watch the salt-both make you need more magnesium. There are a lot of different forms out there you will have to see which one is best for your body, but oxide is not good, mg citrate brings water into the bowels, so if you are constipated that is oK. Taurate and malate are good forms, but can be hard to find. I use an ionized mg from mag-i-cal.com because it is cellular ready. I take 400mg at night (when your levels are the lowest) and 400 mg in the morning (2nd lowest time). Dark chocolate is a good source of mg also. Drink lots of water to help flush out the toxins and replenish your supply since you are urinating so much.

I was using a small dose of Magnesium "oxide" which didn't seem to do much. I just ordered Magnesium Complex off of Laura which is the better forms of Magnesium, so thanks for the information.
For the longest time I was taking Calcium with vitamin D at bedtime and my insomnia and muscle contractions were awful. I've recently learned that Americans need to take half as much magnesium along with the calcium,(2:1 ratio) otherwise problems will occur. The left side of my back would lock up and stay that way most of the night. I guess the mercury does something to rob the body of magnesium <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
The more info I get, the more everything FINALLY makes sense!

Well, I just finished my first round of chelation using the DMSA (Cutler Protocol). Felt better than I had in a LONG time by the third day, but after a couple of days off of chelation I began feeling lousy again. I have been using the Algin and it does seem to take the edge off. My symptoms throughout the night are bizarre. Sometimes I wake up panicked because my throat starts constricting. One night I notice a golfball sized lump on my thigh and within two hours it disappeared.....really weird stuff. Oh and you'll appreaciate this one, (read your story) my back tooth, a molar that is all the way in the back has turned, like it's starting to move sideways!! My teeth were perfectly straight (had braces). I dare not tell anyone these things as they'll put me in a padded room somewhere!
I am ordering the Nature's Sunshine magnesium complex, so hoping that the right dose of that should help with sleep and muscle cramps.

Strange stuff! I recall reading something by a wise practitioner of "alternative" medicine to the effect that each tooth represents certain aspect of your body's "energy" (acupuncture theory). This man was against artificial straightening of the teeth because it is purely cosmetic and does nothing for the body's energy paths.

So, it sounds as if your body is attempting to right itself to what it originally was.

To go on a tangent, I am opposed especially to children's teeth being artificially forcibly straightened because it interferes with the growth of their head and can cause all sorts of problems that are resolved only if you get rid of the braces.

Over the last couple of weeks i have noticed like you, that my last molar has gone sideways, distinctly altering my bite. I have a double gap next to this molar, i wonder, if because of the missing teeth the molar has lost it support. Up untill recently this tooth was totally straight. Have you got a gap next to your "sideways" molar? I wonder what else could cause this <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

No, I have no gaps between my back teeth. I noticed that my tooth had turned during the height of all my mercury poisoning symptoms. This tooth is right next to the tooth that I'm sure was leaking the most mercury vapor. This tooth, next to the one that has turned, had broken three years ago, and instead of crowning it, the dentist built it up with amalgam.

Yes, it has affected my bite, too...strange stuff!
Like Russ said, it must've happened all at once because I floss regularly and would've notice a gradual change.

You'll hear from "mainstream" people that your calcium/magnesium ratio should be 2:1 in favor of calcium, BUT they got that number from only looking at the bone content and not taking into account that the muscles contain and need a lot. Ann Louise Gittleman (a nutritionist) was the one who put me onto the fact that it really should be 2:1 in favor of magnesium. And for mercury poisioned people (hg blocks mg and also causes you to need more to deotx all that hg), I personally have seen that you shouldn't take supplemental calcium at all because you most likely are getting enough calcium (unless you don't do dairy) and taking a calcium supplement will make a mg deficiency worse because it will take mg from your bones to try and process that .

To back Missy up, I've found that magnesium supplements helped me a lot. Mercury interferes with mganesium.

Also, beware of milk and mercury. Studies have shown that milk prevents the elimination of mercury. The researchers have no idea what it is in milk that causes this to occur, but the differences between urine-mercury between milk consumers and non-MC are dramatic.

I've also read studies saying that milk actually causes calcium-utilization problems like bone spurs and osteoperosis. They say it had to do with the process of pasteurization changing the way calcium works in the body. These problems didn't occur with un-pasteurized milk.

I think thats true.
That explains the reaction my babies had so long ago.
After switching to soy they did much better.
I couldn't figure out totally why they became allergic.
Mercury and milk based formula can provoke severe reactions around vaccination time.

What surgery did you have that caused menopause ? Did you have a hysterectomy?

I don't drink milk anymore haven't for a long long time.
That is interesting to hear as they give babies vaccinations with mercury and other toxic additives and what do babies drink?

I wouldn't doubt it the cheaper the better for them because if they can inject toxic substances in babies in the first place.

That is a bit of a reach. The studies showed that mice fed ONLY milk had trouble getting rid of mercury. Perhaps it was due to a magnesium deficiency.

I read that written above and then my expirence with my babies at that time made sense.
They became allergic it seemed to the milk formula and so their peditrician said I could change one to Soy and then when the other one started showing the same symptoms I switched that one also too Soy they both were on Soy and they both seemed to improve.
But of course they also became eventually autistic they got all their vaccinations they just improved from that episode of reactions which I assumed was the formula because back then..
I thought what else could it be??
There was just nothing else I could think of and had no idea that the vaccinations could of been the cause.
I thought it was the milk based formula.
And maybe I was right it was reacting to the mercury or other additives I had no idea was in there at the time.
But babies can be fed only milk when they are very young until they start eating baby foods.
So I changed their formula but good point!
Maybe it could be mercury blocking the magnesium and milk formula made matters worse.
I had to take them off the milk based formula and eventually the symptoms started improving.
I think the milk based formulas back then contained magnesium.
That was so long ago. Plus I did both.
Formula and natures way for 6 + months. More like 6. But magnesium deficiency could make sense.
It could be that too.

An interesting comparison of human milk and cow's milk. I was surprised that cow's milk has so much greater amounts of minerals than human milk.

Milk has magnesium, but 9x as much calcium(10.4x as much for human milk). Magnesium is needed to convert vitamin D to its active form. Vitamin D is important for detoxification.

Thats so true! They load us up with Calcium or Iron or Folic Acid these days in foods and liquids but the most important like B-12 and Magnesium is overlooked in importance.
The try to load us up with toxins too in the vaccinations.
It's like they switched everything around on us.
Mercury in vaccines O.K. mercury in thermometers run for your life!
Mercury in lights sounds good even if they do pollute the environment. It's all backwards at times it seems.
