Those of you who are post-amalgam removal and post any-other-dental treatment that was needed to remove unnecessary metals, such as dealing with fixing old root canal work, cavitation, etc., do you find that you still have to eat very carefully?
Are you very fastidious in eating a healthy, whole foods, therapeutic diet?
In the past I've done antifungal diets where I've avoided: all sugars, all dairy (except yogurt and small amounts of organic butter or ghee), anything fermented, alcohol, yeasts (including bread with yeast), and tried to make my diet at least 50% vegetables. It was hard to do!
I'm wondering if any of you have found that you need to adhere to really strict diets post amalgam?

-off the subject-
You mention you did antifungals that included no fermented foods ... from what I read fermented foods were good for fighting candida.
While true there is some simple suger in the fermentation ... the fermented foods actually contain a ton of good bacteria which is helpful for proliferating it. I actually got one of the strongest herximer (can never spell that) reactions; from eating a large bowl of saurerkraut once. (But of course you need to eat the right fermented foods ie many stuff the good bacteria is killed or they add stuff that isnt good for you etc ...)
just wondering what your thoughts on that are ...
Another thing on the anti candida diet; I saw mixed readings from people cutting out yeast ... meaning some people did and some people didnt ...
back to your original topic ...
My diet has only been so so since removal ... but then again my symptoms or cause may be more complicated ...
I would try to do the best you can and not get burned out ... I honestly felt no difference between post removal and pre ... #1 Only had 2 fillings #2 I got them done by a non mercury conscious dentist (regret doing this) - so when I get the chance I'm going to get the teeth re-xrayed to make sure the other dentist removed everything. #3 I did get a very bad flu after removal and it lasted for about 12 days. (uncommon for me)
I think the most important things you could do for amalgam removal are the pre and post supplements; and juicing.
The key is centered around the removal; that's going to be the highest dose of mercury you will every get (even under the most safe conditions); so you want to limit your chances of your body breaking down.

You mentioned allergy elimination ... sounds like both of us have traveled the same path ... after I tried the anti-candida route to no avail ... I tried the food allergy route. I had my blood tested by http://www.immunolabs.com/Supposedly this lab has the best food testing in the world from what I read. I did the testing and the diet (which was very tough like the anti-candida diet). I noticed no change in my symptoms ... And with that it got me thinking ... since alot of 'good' foods were listed for things that I was allergic too; if my body was reacting to 'good' foods with a reaction why was it doing this ... perhaps if I got to the why (underlying cause) then that might help my symptoms ... I did alot of reading on certain diets and how they could help people ... I remember there was something on TV where a child had hundreds of seizures a day and when the parents put him on a certain diet he only had a couple a week (it's been awhile and I cant remember the diets name). So to me there seems to be alot of info out there on the power of certain diets but then again what is causing this reaction in people to have to succumb to these diets that are vastly restrictive and then have to stay on them indefinatley ... and then of course you have those that have reactions to foods (via blood testing) but removal the foods from the diet doesnt help the symptoms ... What has been your experience with the allergy food testing etc ...

I used the BioSET modality allergy elimination and desensitization. Everyone in my family has also used this program for allergy elimination and all of us have had success.
Not all allergy clearings are permanent. Some of mine did come back -- only not as severe as they were originally. My theory is as long as my body is overloaded with challenges (like amalgams and candida and epstein barr virus), there is a change that the clearings won't be permanent.
That was alright with me. BioSET helped me tremendously and I still like to get "tweaked" once in awhile. I think it's a fabulous adjunct to anything else someone is doing to get healthy. It won't interfere with other programs or treatment, I don't believe.

Hey SS, The only real dietary "gotcha" I have to watch out for is my beloved salmon. As much as I love it, when I eat it, I will experience a few old mercury symptoms. I have found that I can cheat and eat salmon and get away with it by taking Algin. Let's take a real-world example. Cheesecake factory, appetizer: "Salmon Rolls"Take 4 Algin 30 minutes before dinner, take 4 Algin 30 minutes after dinner and I have zero mercury symptoms. Carrabba's: "Grilled Salmon"Take 4 Algin 30 minutes before dinner, take 4 Algin 30 minutes after dinner and I have zero mercury symptoms. Not only does Algin help me detox, Algin lets me cheat! Does the wonder of natural supplement ever end? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
