Does anyone have a suggestion for burning jaw pain? Of all my symptoms, this one seems to be bothering me the most right now. I'm trying to keep track of what I eat, to see if that is aggrevating it. I didn't even notice it until my braces were removed in February. It seems to be getting worse as time goes on. Not constant, comes and goes. I also called the dentists office yesterday, and found out the 2 hours I spent in the chair on the 11th, only resulted in part of the work done on my upper left quadrant. I still have 2 amalgams left there...AGGHHH! That means at least one more visit. Now, I am looking at July, instead of June to get them all removed.

Hi Diana,
I had been having severe toothaches in my upper teeth (right hand side) which got worse and included pain in the jaw. Last Friday I went to the dentist and found out that it is most likely a maxillary sinus infection. (He showed me an area on the xray that looks like an infection.) This can cause an aching jaw and toothaches. I never would have thought a sinus infection could cause that much pain in the teeth, but apparently the nerve runs along the roots of the teeth.
I have been chelating off and on using DMSA and this makes the white blood cell count to go down....probably why I got the infection.
If it is an upper quadrant that's bothering you this may be a possibility.

Thanks for the response. Reading your post made me go ecchhh! No, it is in my lower right jaw, in the joint and also at the point where the jaw bone makes a 90 degree turn. But, it can really get to burning. I don't want to take any medication. I have been completely free since Oct 24, when I had my last migraine. I do take Willow Bark and Feverfew, when necessary, but was hoping maybe someone had another suggestion.

Scarlet: Thanks for the advice, but I don't think it applies to my jaw pain. I, too, have done lots of research on suppliments and :whole foods". I take lots of stuff to help my individual symptoms, but haven't found anything for the burning jaw pain except herbs for pain. Thanks, anyway.

Diana, I had burning pain in my foot. It seems to be helped by magnesium. I don't absorb magnesium well because I have celiac sprue, so I take epsom salt baths and absorb it through my skin. That seems to work better for me.

Diana, what I am trying to say is, that although I took magnesium orally, it helped, but minimally. Because I seem to be unable to absorb magnesium well, probably due to celiac sprue (which, I have read on this forum is caused by mercury and which many people have and are unaware of it) I was taking many magnesium pills but not really benefitting. So now, I put 2-3 cups of magnesium (epsom salts) in a hot bath, and soak for 30+ minutes. The burning is gone. I am sure the gluten-free diet helped and getting the amalgams replaced also helped, but the magnesium bath is a nice finishing touch.
