wow I can't believe how many of my symptoms fit this! Its amazing, and all the while I was treating for mercury, candida and other chronic illnesses, when many of the supplements and food i was eating were actually doing me harm by increasing histamine levels!
All the mental symptoms fit, excess salivation, slender body type, perfectionist, easily emotional, redness and irritations of the skin, chronic itching, times of deep depression and anger, obbsessive-compulsive tendencies, teeth in good condition, excess swelling, high libido, strong willed, excess persperation, phobias and many more.
Any of these sound familiar to you guys? I've been on a low histamine diet a week now and taking certain supps and feel great! Anyone else suffer from this?

when I look at it again I know most these symptoms are mercury caused aswell, so ofcourse they sound familiar to you guys! but some are quite different...
I suspected i was still candida burdened so I didn't eat many complex carbs, but I can't believe the readdition of them have helped so much, im even gaining weight!

Apart from the phobias, deep depressions, obsessive compulsive behaviours, excessive perspiration, excess swelling, perfectionist, it sounds pretty good to have
But seriously, I do have a lot of those problems, but I assume it's mercury related. I don't know what to think, but I do know i get them far worse after visiting a dental office (becuase of the mercury vapor in there), so that's what makes me think it is mercury with me. I don't get the swelling etc, but I do have some of the other stuff.
It's great you are getting better from this. Let us know what foods and supplements cause the problems because I'd be interested to hear.

do a little search on google about histamine or histadelia and you'll get a fair bit of info, the diet is much less strict than any other diets I've come across which is good, basically you havta get your complex carbs, I ate some potatos today and been feelin good, and some protein. I've been told my naturopath protein is important for me, but many sites on the internet say to restrict protein. I think I'll go with my naturopath.. Also a symptom I forgot to mention was episodes of a "blank mind", I get it all the time, I'm thinking about something or talking to someone and suddenly my mind goes blank. Makes so much sense. Also with histamine the red sometimes itchy rashes all over your body develop and also something I've noticed is that it swells your face, particiularly ur nose (the bridge becomes swelled and your eyes look further apart) and ur eyes become very irritated., red and dark circles appear under eyes. The swelling of your face seems to be a symptom that hangs around for a long time too, and seems fairly subtle, but believe me I notice it and it makes me look alot worse than i usually do. Sore throats that come and go too, and also you generally have warm skin
As the the supps I take I'm taking it easy at the moment as per orders from the naturopath. She's given me liquid zinc which is real good, and even though I take zinc caps I'm still deficient (poor healing, white spots on finger nails) Other than that vitamin C which is real good for lowering histamine, magnesium and digestive enzymes.
Vitamins to stay away from are niacin and folic acid! Foods to stay away from are highly allergy foods like tomatoes, processed foods and many many others (just look up google). Also foods high in histamine and other amines (obviously)
A good thing about this diet is you can still drink alcohol! Only vodka, gin and white rum tho, which is fine with me, and no copious amounts.. The thing is you can't have soda drinks with them, so looks like I will be having gin and tonics!

still, I think histamine might be a problem for you as it might be for a alot of mercury people. After hearing about the affects it can have on you physically and mentally, its really opened my eyes! I mean, I'm pretty sure from what I've read, all allergic reactions involve histamine, creating the bad symptoms including mental symptoms, so mayb histamine is being fired out when you go into a dental office?
We are all different though so you can never be sure I guess, but I'm fairly sure that my mercury, candida and other heavy metal levels are down at the moment leaving me solely with histamine issues! (hopefully..)

Hi, I looked up more on the histime issue and I am now honestly wondering if I have this. Though I do not have all the hallmarks of it, some of it is just downright scary to read because it sounds so much like me. Apart from the body hair thing you mentioned (I have too much, but I think it's because my adrenal glands are apparently producing too much steroid). But the things they mentioned like body shape, fingers, toes, paranoias, sex drive (embarrassing but true), some weird things mentioned very much like me.
Again, it's hard becuase all these things can be mercury too, but what is doing what? I can't really eat fruit because I get worse gut reactions, yet all I eat is basically protein now. Raw nuts, meat, yoghurt and only a little vegetable and some grain. If I have what you have, then this is probably a very bad thing for me to do..... But if I eat any sugar, even some milk, the gut gets worse, so I feel trapped...
You might be right, it's quite possible mercury is causing the histimine in me to do this. And this could then keep up a continual reaction inside. I WISH I KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON!!!!
I'llt ell you this. My reaction to garlic supplmeentation is outright dangerous and I honestly do not know why.
but again, I'm really appreciative of you bringing this up because it's gotten me wondering now seriously.
By the way, now that you've gotten some things under control, have you thought about trying to chelate mercury regardless? Just in case, mercury is still there, though you may feel better.

yea I have thought about chelation seriously, with alpha lipoic acid mainly, but I'm gonna take it one thing at a time. Its really amazing tho, i feel good tonight, the best I have in a while, mentally and physically, and its only taken about a week to get like this
I seriously think if you can identify with the symptoms like I have than this could be a problem for you. I think I have suffered from this my entire life when I look back on it and its amazing when I have flashbacks of some of these certain histamine symptoms when I was a kid. Probably about 2 years ago I would have had different symptoms to what I do now because of various factors (antibiotics and other drugs I took including accutane!) and chronic mercury and candida. These toxicities probably intertwined with my histamine symptoms to cause different ones. I know it does seem like there are infinite things that could be wrong with us, but I seriously think that a lot of mercury toxic people who display some of these symptoms do have problems with it!
The best thing I hav done so far is stop taking a multi which had folic acid and niacin in it, and avoiding the foods. I have also been taking threelac and oxygen elements for candida which has basically cleared it up believe it or not! Probably also the best thing I have done in a while in regards to my diet is buying a juicer and juicing veges and fruit. When i started to do this I immediately noticed the reduction and elimination of some symptoms like anxiety and depression!

HI, yes take it easy whatever you decide to do wtih the mercury. It's too easy to make a mistake and make things worse with that stuff.
I have looked up more on the histadelia and it seems I have symptoms that can be from both high or low histamine, so I will have to be careful to self diagnose because I'm unsure completely either way.
I think too much is going on for me to have a clear answer to be honest. It's very difficult. Obviously with you, everything was pretty blatant once you found out.
However, I have taken it onboard and am going to do some things like stop using my multi with folic acid (interestingly enough, I cannot take niacin....but then I have fast liver phase one and niacin speeds it up even more, so that might be why too). I'm taking vitamin C and E and I'm starting this stuff called goji juice, which is apparently pretty incredible what it can do (so I can see why you juice your vegetables and fruit). It's kind of a power punch of nutrients.
Sadly, I am restricted in regards to fruits, it just feeds the gut problem, so not sure what to do there.
The threelac you mentioned sounds interesting though, but right now I'm financially up sh*t creek, so I'll have to forgo that, I hear it's not cheap. Maybe oneday I'll give it a go.

Hi Joey It's good to hear you are feeling better. The reason I suggested you might be suffering from high histamine (in your other post) was that many of your symptoms matched AND I had also previously studied this topic as I had some of the same symptoms (and folic acid makes me extremely ill).BUT, I found that histamine was not the only reason for feeling bad, although I wish. It is still the mercury causing my immunesystem to react in an unbalaced way to everything I eat. Anyway, this would be fantastic if by taking lowering messures will make you feel completely or near completely well. Best of luck I'm posting the same link which I gave to you in your other post, incase newbies are interested about histamine triggering foods: http://users.bigpond.net.au/allergydietitian/fi/amines.htmlAnn

thanks ann! and thanks so much for suggesting the histamine thinkg cause you were the one who started my suspicions and googleing. The naturopath pretty much confirmed it.
As for the low histamine high histamine thing, I display some of the low histamine symptoms too, which did discourage me, but hey the high histamine symptoms pretty much fit me exactly so thats what I'm goin with! Let us know how avoiding the the multi goes for you bex..

I've very cautiously started to take l-methionine and I must say I'm feeling good. My skin is much better too! The reason why u take this is that it lowers body histamine levels. Also when your histamine is too high you are also under-methylated so the methionine helps in this area too. I just gotta be careful cause I dont want it to bring back the mercury and heavy metal symptoms... Only time will tell...

Hi, yes let me know how you go on the methionine. It's very hard, because in trying to fix or help one area, you find the very thing to do that can make another area worse or aggravate it. I know cysteine and methionine are not recommended in mercury, but again, if you are already improving on other things you're doing for that other problem, then you're already on the right track, so hope the methionine further improves it, as it seems it may already be doing.
I am a little wary to try it, because I have been told that both cysteine and methionine (in some with jawbone cavitations, which I have) can be desulferated by the anaerobic bacteria from cavitations, then combine with mercury and create far more toxic compounds, methyl mercapton being one.
So not sure what to do there. So far, I'm taking things like B6, zinc, magnesium, selenium, vitamin C, vitamin E, and goji juice, plus pure fish oil capsules and also milk thistle. I don't know if this will help, but hope it might do something, at least for my liver phase II (which is underactive and these things should help stimulate it).
Anyway, again it's good to take onboard all this info and try and fit at least some of everything into what I"m doing, whilst I try and chelate mercury.
