Tracy Feeling intense cold and anxiety are THYROID symptoms. Have you had your thyroid checked? It's a simple blood test. Ask for Free T4 and Free T3 to be measured. This is a better test than TSH. Loads of websites about thyroid issues. Here's a good one www.stopthethyroidmadness.com

It almost always shows upnormal in testing. The symptoms are the best dyagnosis, and you show them all. I think you should buy Andy Cutlers bok, onamalgm illness,i bought it a few months back, and i have learned alot since then.

Tracy, have you had your amalgam removed yet? Mercury can do all sorts of things. Do you live in the UK?

Hi Tracy. I've really struggled with anxiety for years (OCD symptoms). I've had thyroid tests (a few times), aswell as blood tests, sugar tests, hormone tests, ultra-sound. The only thing they could think I have is PCOS (even though I had no ovarian cysts). They never even asked if I had amalgams or heavy metal poisoning. I've been offered hormone pills, lots of other kind of pills for other symptoms, and anxiety pills to help me cope with certain things.
I'm not sure what is the best thing to help deal with the anxiety, except lowering mercury levels and trying to make your life as stress-free as possible. I'm convinced that the improvements I had in my late teens were to lessing mercury levels. I've read that Magnesium can help, aswell as anything else that protects against mercury.
I really don't know whether the anxiety pills etc can help or not as I've never taken any.

Tracy, i have Lorezepam for special occassions, when it gets too much, i would only take half of a dose. The key is to get you amalgams out. You found a good dentist, he likes to do them in one go which in some cases could be better than doing it gradually. feeling cold is a thyroid symptom but you dont want to do any testing until your amalgams have been removed. My thyroid went very overactive quite a few years ago and i think it was my amalgam fillings which caused it, at the time i had no idea, anyway, i had to have my thyroid removed and now im on pills all my life.

I agree, Dawn, about keeping an "open-mind" on things. They say I have PCOS, but I am not going to accept it "definitely" unless my problems don't go away after removal and detox. If they don't, then I know I have a genuine problem. At the moment, I believe my hormone disruptions are mercury-related, both because it effects the endoctrine system, and because it triggers anxiety, which also effects hormones etc.

Demi, from what I've read, PCOS, according to all the "fringe" naturopathic people, who are actually where it is at re: medical issues, say that PCOS is caused by mercury. So, if yours clears up, it is quite likely you did have PCOS which is your body's way of expressing itself against mercury toxicity.
