Yes i had two lots done recently. I had it done mainly because i didnt want future problems with cavitations. I have quite alot of teeth missing (back ones) and they were not pulled properly so i got my new dentist to clean them out so they would heal better. I havnt noticed a change in symptoms at all.

My dentist didnt take out the ligament, which can cause cavitations. So i had to have them cleaned again by another dentist.

Is that the periodontal nerve? My nd told me to make sure they remove this, but offcourse the oral surgeon and everyone else says it does not exist I'm just curious as to if they teach the same stuff to everyone in medical/dental school, because it seems like nothing is ever a fact. For instance when i went to the oral surgeon to have my tooth extracted,he asked me what was wrong with the tooth, then i explained to him, that the tooth was root canalled, and filled with amalgam, that of which i am sensitive to. Then i began to tell him i had a high level of mercury bound up iside of my tissues,he then asked if i knew what the source was from. I then told him from my amalgam fillings,he laughed, and said he doubts that very much, because that's next to impossible. If i wasn't in as much pain as i was,i would've walked out,and went home. So my plan is whenever i get better i am gonna constantly flood his mailbox with anti-mercury brochures and such

Hi Strength, yes its that ligament, (cant think how to spell it). I went to a dentist in London and he cleaned it all out properly, incase of future cavitations. Most dentists dont do this but i found one who does, its alot more expensive to get this done and takes alot longer.

Okay,i think that's what they were supposed to do along with the surrounding tissue, but they also told me the periodontal nerve doesn't exist so who knows what they did

Did your neck and shoulders and face and whole head hurt? I think I must have infection, cause I just felt something pop and it feels a bit better, like the pressure is gone.
I have to have 9 more pulled, I hope the rest are not this hard, and I am not a crybaby.

Yeah my neck also hurt a little bit but mostly the glandular are below the chin was sore. I also felt a swollen lymph node in that area too. You are having nine more extracions? God bless you the one i had to have was brutal enough for me.

My dentist also does oral surgery, he was trained under hal Huggins, it was Demi who got me thinking about going to him. Sandi, i didnt know you had so many more to do, good luck with it! Also, when you have a cavitation site done, the dentist stitches it up, did your dentist do this?

Thanks for your input guys and Dawn I didn't get any stitches, just some kind of a gel pack and I was on my way. I wonder if that is what is called a cavitation clean up, it is called "cortification" on the receipt.
I think he is a dental surgeon too, at least he better be. He did some drilling after the extraction and then put the gel pack in...he is a man of few words, so I never know what he is doing...but he is recommended on the Huggins website, the only one where I live.
Does anyone have a site that explains proper cavitation cleanup? I can't seem to find one.

Hi Sandi, my dentist made an incision in the gum and then drilled to the bone, then he used ozone or something, then stitched it up, i had to go back to have stitches out 5 days later. he gave me a mouthwash to clean it after eating and some Aloe vera gel for healing. I have to have another Xray in a years time to see how its healing.

Thanks Dawn, I am going to have to ask him why he didn't stitch me up...he did drill to the bone, it felt like halfway thru my head!!!

Hey guys,
I loosely know what cavitations are, but not what all causes them or what all counts as a cavitation. For instance, I had a few wisdom teeth taken out about 4 years back....does this leave a cavitation? I actually had the misfortune of getting dry socket in the bottom one, which was horrible. I lived a few hours away from the surgeon I had gone to at the time, so I suffered with it for a few days before I went to another dentist to have it checked out. Dry socket has something to do with the air hitting the raw, exposed bone in your jaw - it leads to agonizing pain....I don't know if it's from infection for not. Sounds sketchy though....I hope this is not the type of thing to lead to a cavitation. All they did was remove the tooth, so no amalgam/mercury was placed down there as far as I know. Is that the only way to get a cavitation, if amalgam is placed down there, like in the case of a root canal?
These questions might sound a bit silly, but I figured I should find out in case it's something I should worry about.
Thanks, ~Tia
