I have a 6 year old daughter who has neurological damage which we thought was caused by her birth but after research into the medicine my wife received during pregnancy we suspect mercury poisoning. We will be getting her tested to see if this is true but I would like to know if anyone knows of a similiar situation where a child recovered at least to a certain extent. mlersch@comcast.net

As far as I know, many children are being treated by a biochemist called Andrew Hall Cutler. His book "amalgam illness, diagnosis and treatment" is avilable online. You can also email him. I will locate his email and send it to you.

Many kids are exposed to mercury, from vaccines and other things that can cause neurological damage/symptoms and austim.

The way Andy Cutler treats these children is to administer chelating agents - namely DMSA (or DMPS orally) and later adding alpha lipoic acid.

the chelation is done in such a manner as to avoid mobilising mercury unecessarily and possibly causing damage along the way. He has studied mercury poisoning for many years and has not only cured himself, but many others, including children.

Children have the incredible ability to heal, though autism is difficult, it can be improved and even cured.

The DMSA is available through a doctor, or online. The typical dose is about 25 mg and it has to be taken every 4 hours around the clock (non stop) for a few days on (approximately 3 days, or longer up to a week) and then a break for the same amount of time and this is repeated over and over until blood and urine mercury levels are reduced. Usually it's taken for a few months before adding ALA>

Later, alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is added to the DMSA and the same regime is used. Soemtimes it has to be taken even more often (every 3 hours). Taken 3 days every week.

The reason for taking these chelating agents in this manner is to keep the blood levels even and keep a continual dose of DMSA and ALA in the blood. If the doses are taken too far apart or randomly, the levels in the blood are not consistent and then the movement of mercury is sporadic, inconsistant and causes redistribution and worsening of symptoms and often damage can be done.

HE is basically a scientist in this area and studied the way to take chelation for mercury and the nature of mercury and how to deal with it.

Also, testing for mercury is notoriously inaccurate. Mercury was inside the body, is bound up and stored and does not show up on blood/urine or hair tests. Occassionally someone might show a very high level but normally this is from a very acute exposure, not so much something that has done damage a while ago, or they've been chronically and long termly exposed.

Very hard to get an accurate test, but the way to do it is apparently with hair testing. And to not so much look at mercury levels, as I said, they are not normally a true depiction of what's going on in the body, but to look at the minerals and which ones are deranged. Mercury usually shows a pattern in what it can do with minerals and which ones are disturbed by mercury.

At any rate, you may want to join a group.forum that uses this protocol for mercury detox. They are adults, but also there is information on there about Andy Cutler, plus Andy often gets on there himself. You can ask questions on there and people will be able to help you and direct you much better than me.

There is definitely hope for your child. Mercury can be removed, but has to be done correctly.

There are also other doctors that treat children with heavy metal toxicity. Dr. Buttar specializes in treating autistic children through mercury/heavy metal chelation. There is also an organization called Thoughtful House (with Dr. Wakefield) that specializes in mercury treatment and gut disorders. And while they focus on autism, I think they can treat any children with health problems that result from heavy metals.

I know that as it's your child, you will want to research and be as careful as humanly possible. To get the safest protocol to ensure not only that she does not get hurt, but that she will improve and hopefully a cure might be gained. Andy cutler does not make promises, but I can tell you many have been literally SAVED by him.

Many of us have been hurt by other mercury detox protocols and have found his to be safe. Nothing is perfect of course, and everybody is different, but out of any of them, I would recommend his and particularly due to the fact that he works with parents and autistic children (or other mercury damaged kids and adults too). that is his life.

My ND, Dr John Matsen treats autistic kids all the time, and I am pretty sure he uses DMSA for all of his patients including kids. He told me that as soon as he gives them the chelators, their tremors stop almost immediately...truly amazing what alternate medicine can fix that traditional medicine has caused. I think many children would benefit from a chelation...and it is quite evident when you see the numbers of children affected with autism, ADD ADHD and other neurological problems and the humbers are growing rapidly.

He says that the older nenerations are more severely affected by mercury toxicity from amalgams and the younger generations are more affected from vaccines.

wheni visited a private hopital in London called the Brreakepeare they were trating a 6 month old baby for Mercury poisoning which it had received from its mother through breast feeding. The baby cried constantly and never slept. They are professionals at this kind of thing but of course it is private and expensive thats where i firsrt discovered about my poisoning and all the different viruses i had, and that my immune system had collapsed ps the baby's mum was a dentist

oh my goodness, the baby's mom was a dentist??? The mom must have excreted it all to the baby...how sad, I hope she is mercury free now!!! Well thank goodness it alerted you to the facts!!!
