I recently did the blood test and found out that I am a I (0) blood type. According to dr. Peter J. D’Adamo there are foods for each blood type that are healthy, neutral, and poisonous. For my type it’s mainly the meats, seafood, and vegetables that should be consumed, for they are healthy. But even in these categories some are poisonous like bacon, smoked salmon, and potatoes respectably. Then blood (0) types should avoid all dairy, yeast, gluten, wheat, etc. I was surprised to find out that oranges or citruses are poisonous for me. He also advices not to take vitamin e. So I am trying to find out what others think about eating according to your blood type. I have plenty of vitamin c w/bioflavoids and vitamin e. Should I continue to take them or switch to supplements that are different, for instance for vit c I should switch to the one that comes from rose hips? What about vitamin e? It’s important to take it for mercury ill person but not for a blood (0) type. I am confused.

PS. In the book "Eat right for your type", I found out that fish and seafood should be consumed as much as meat for my blood type. Given that fish and seafood nowadays contains much mercury in it, eating much of that is not the best way to go I suppose. But what if one takes algin before and after? Would that solve the mercury issue? And besides, mercury from that sourse is minor compared to amalgasum and vacinations. Any suggestions?

Hi Tia,
Thanks for the news – I feel good. I do think that eating fish or seafood is not a problem as long as you take something that quickly eliminates it, but if you really poisoned then stay away from it until some chelation takes place. As for me I will eat fish and seafood, because I like the taste, it is healthy as it has necessary oils, it has protein which is good for my blood type (0), and it is good for the brain as it makes one smart – just look at Japanese.

I am also type O and I agree wholeheartedly with the diet...with some exceptions because of my candida. I did a survey on a yeast forum and most all of them were type O as well...I think it was like 8 out of 10. There is a certain type of protein that is specific to some people that are predisposed to mercury toxicity and I am betting that it has a genetic relationship to our blood types. from http://www.jigsawhealth.com/articles/heavy_metal_toxicity.html "Heavy metals are found in everyday existence and are frequently hard to avoid entirely. Most people can excrete toxic heavy metals from the body successfully. However, some people—especially those who suffer from chronic conditions—cannot excrete them efficiently enough and a build-up occurs. Recent research also reveals that those who cannot excrete heavy metals efficiently appear to be genetically predisposed to this condition. Research has shown that the APO-E 4/3 and 4/4 genotypes are the worst excretors of heavy metals. Those with this version of APO-E protein—abundant in the cerebral spinal fluid surrounding the brain—will have the highest affinity for becoming ill from exposure to neuro-toxic heavy metals, especially mercury when it is present in combination with others." I keep my fish intake to a minimum and if I do eat it, I only get it from reliable sources and don't eat the big ones like halibut and tuna, I never liked tuna, maybe there was a reason. Sandi

Glad to hear from you Russ. I am really interested to watch that video. Although I love fish, I generally stay away from it because I do experience mercury symptoms when I eat it unless I take a bunch of algin with it, in which case, I have virtually no symptoms. So why don't you just take more Algin with fish and hence eat it more often. We are blood (0) types and we need fish and lots of it in our diet. We are hunters.

Nice find Sandi! As hunters, we caught fish back in the day and eat it up with mercury. Hence, we are able to handle mercury better than other types. However, in my case I got poisoned from it. Mom had lots of amalgam fillings as I was born. I've had all the vaccinations, including the Hep B recently. I wore braces which probably had nickel and other metals. I've had teeth problems since youth. Had lots of cavities and hence lots of fillings. Then here in the states I got amalgam and aluminum fillings. Together with braces thats the super combo of electrolysis. I am curious to know what do you exclude from your blood (0) diet, because I am on it. No dairy, yeast, gluten, sugar. Yes to eggs and some occasional fruit. Lots of meats, mainly beef. Lots of veggies, mostly brocolli (although its high sulfur, but I must eat something).

I don't think Russ has seen this post yet, so let me jump in, if I may. You normally don't want to take Algin with other supplements, because of Algin's "absorbing" properties. For example, if you take Algin with other vitamins or herbs, the Algin could absorb some or all of the other things you're taking and hence, decrease their effectiveness. It's okay to take Algin with food...I do this often, especially if I'm going to eat food that either chelates mercury (such as cilantro in Mexican or Thai food) or is a source of mercury exposure itself (such as fish). In these cases, I'll take Algin both before AND after eating these things. My typical dose is about 4 capsules before and after eating a meal with cilantro, but if I'm eating fish, I'll take 6-8 capsules before and after. This may sound like a lot, but I'm very sensitive to the effects of cilantro, and fish is even worse for me. However, with enough Algin, the effects are minimal and I can then enjoy a nice salmon dinner once in a while. Hope this helps!

Right, let me clairfy...
Algin is so absorbant that if you take it with food or other supplements, it will interfere to some degree with the absorption of that food or those supplements.
Well, if you're eating food that contains mercury, like fish, then you certainly want to absorb the mercury from the fish before it enters the digestive system so in this case, you want to take the align "with" the meal (see #3 below).
Also, like Laura said, if you're eating food that contains substances that chelate mercury, like cilantro, then different rules apply. See the explaination below.
(1) If you want to chelate mercury and there is cilantro in your meal, then you want some of the cilantro to get absorbed into the body. So, in this case, you want to take algin perhaps an hour before the meal and an hour after so algin is present when the liver starts dumping mercury but not to interfere with the body's absorption of the cilantro.
(2) If you don't want to chelate mercury but there just happens to be cilantro (or some other mercury chelator like coriander) in the food, then take the algin 15 minutes before the meal and then 15 minutes after and then again in an hour. This will help prevent both the chelator from getting into the blood (although not completely) and it will absorb the small amout of mercury that is liver-dumped from the small amount of chelator that does make it into the body.
(3) If you're eating food that contains mercury, then you want to prevent the absorption of that mercury by the body. You'd rather have the algin absorb the mercury and carry it out of the digestive system, so follow rule #2 (above).
I hope this makes sense.
