I will begin amalgam removal next Thursday and naturally want to take all precautions possible. I am reasonably happy with the biological dentist that I will be seeing however he doesn't use charcoal under the rubber dam but is not opposed to it if I organise it myself.
Just wondering if anyone knows what I do. I gather that I purchase the charcoal capsules and then open the capsules and mix with a tiny bit of water to form a paste and then get the dentist or assistant to layer this under my tongue. Does this sound okay?
Also just wondering if someone wouldn't mind going over the basic s that I should follow on the day of removal. I have also heard that drinking a little alcohol about half an hour prior to removal can help in some way.
I have purchased some Chlorella tabs but not sure about how many I should take on the day and the day after etc. I will take a change of clothes with me and have organised a colonic for the following day.
I understand that I shouldn't take any Vitamin C for a few days prior but should I take a large quantity straight after?
Thanks everyone

Rachie, what worked for me was, - thankfully, I had a holistic dentist who practiced under Hal Huggins. He pretty much did the whole protocol. He told me to take the regular supplements ie: vitamins ie: a multivitamin along with a few extras that, I am sorry, I cannot remember. But, I know there was extra C - u p to 5000 mg. and extra magnesium and selenium etc. Along with that, I was told to take glutiathone, methionine, and N-Acetyl Cysteine. My Naturopath, whom I recently started to see, has since told me that I shouldn't have taken the N-Acetyl Cysteine because it poses the danger of taking mercury into the brain. She said the glutiothone was good, as long as it was reduced. Mine wasn't. Methionine was not mentioned by her, as, I think it got lost in the many things we were discussing. I had some sort of testing - I think it may have been EAV testing - to determine if I had any cavitations. Thankfully, and i think, miraculously, I did not. I was given a blood test to complete at a lab to send to Clifford Lab to determine which substances would be o.k. I had two visits to remove mercury. On the first visit, I discontinued the vit c two days before (vit. c, they say, will cause the anaesthetic used to numb the gum to be ineffective). On the way in, I drank 8 oz of water with two tsp. of activated charcoal in it to absorb any mercury. The dentist checked the electrical readings of all my 6 filled teeth and started with the highest negative one (if I remember correctly - He followed the Huggins protocol with the exception that he did not go in quadrants, but did the electrical readings first - did the proper quadrant first and then, in the same visit, did the other quadrant on the same side of the face. He refused to cross the meridian line - ie: to do the right lower and then tackle something on the opposite side) The dentist just broke a capsule of activated charcoal under my tongue before he started. I covered myself with a sheet, which I took off at the end and put in a plastic bag. The dentist put oxygen tubes up my nose, and used a rubber dam. and special plastic glasses (goggle type) over my eyes. He cut the filling out, rather than drilling. He used a LOT of water on the cutting instrument to keep it cool It all went VERY well. My next appointment was made, making sure not to have me come in in 7, 14, or 21 days after this first visit, as this could cause an immune system problem. These things are all covered in Hal Hggin's book - I can't remember which one - maybe someone else can help me here. When I got out to the car, I drank another activated charcoal concoction - I guess charcoal pills would do the same thing. It took an hour to get home. When I got there, I immediately took off everything I was wearing and put it in a bag to be washed and had a shower, putting on clean clothes afterwards. I started right away on 5000 mg. vit. c and the next day went back to my vitamins. The dentist recommended going for IV Vit. C, but he was far from my home, and the nurse that would do the IV was quite far away from the dentist's office, and I wanted to keep costs down as much as possible -so I didn't do it. I have not aggressively chelated since this time but continued to take my supplements up until now. I discontinued the glutathione, metionine and N- Acetly cysteine at about 6 months. I have had good days and bad days - some brain fog (which I am used to) Oh yes, I also take Sonne's bentonite clay and psyllium every night to absorb mercury. Though I have had my ups and downs, my general trend is up and I had no setback at six months. My thyroid has had some problems, but that is a topic that I will cover in another post soon. Hope this helps.

thanks so much for all the fantastic info. A sheet sounds nice and simple actually - will definately do that. Also forgot that I could actually consume charcoal caps as well as use them under the dam. Will also have to purchase some heavy duty Vit C for after the procedure.
When you said that the dentist 'cut' them out what do you actually mean. How do they do that? How long does it usually take for them to remove 1 filling? I am really not looking forward to this part. I have a real fear of the drill and the sound etc. I am going to take my squeezy toy with me. I know that they suggest a little alcohol before the procedure but a whole bottle sounds even better!! Unfortunately have to go straight to work afterwards. Oh well!!

I don't remember what it sounded like, but all I remember is how easy it seemed and the filling was out in no time.
