im waiting to have my 4 amalgram fillings removed.and have deen suffering with numbness for 2 years. ive been using my mums sauna for 4 nights.but now ive noticed that my numbness has got worse.
does anyone know why this could be..
not sure if i sould stop.

i wouldnt use the sauna until all amalgams are out when your in a sauna makes you sweat so all the toxins are coming out of your pores probably why your numbness got worse wait till amalgams are out before detoxing in any way

I agree with Clare. I would be very careful to overdo any mercury detox/chelation when you still have mercury in your teeth. There is the chance that the heat itself might encourage further vaporising from your amalgams and you could be breathing this back in. It might not be so, but it's a possibility (just as with drinking hot fluids). Sweating is great, don't get me wrong, but the heat from these things, you can see the chances of more vapor coming off the fillings (I could be wrong though). Certainly regardless of amalgams or not, the sauna will encourage mercury through your pores, so you will notice worsening of symptoms. Also you can re-absorb some of it anytime you try and eliminate it. It's one of those things.

A good thing to do at this time is support for your entire body by diet and supplements. This provides the foundation for your body to cope easier, heal, detox better and after the amalgams removed, you should be able to then begin detoxing mercury more with sauna's and other things.

I don't know if you're on a candida diet, but I would highly recommend you do this as I always mention to people that diet can ruin more recoveries than anything else. Sometimes one doesn't have much choice but to go on a good healthy candida diet. No sugar, no yeast, no gluten grains, no milk, no fruit, no potatoes. This allows the yeast/bacteria in your body to reduce because it needs these things to feed off and remain at high levels.

Most people with mercury toxicity have candida. They often need to do this in order to reduce it and cope easier. EAting things like meat, eggs, vegetables, some raw nuts (brazil, almonds), acidophilus plain sugar free yoghurt, etc. and eating good healthy fats like butter, extra virgin olive oils, virgin coconut oil, etc.

Just some advice that might help your body with mercury and to prepare it for the removal. Supplemetns that are good are vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin B complex, magnesium, zinc, milk thistle, and purified mercury free fish oil (good brands are nordic or blue ice).

As for the sauna, I don't know enough to say it's safe with amalgams still in. Perhaps it might be ok, but I'd not overdo it. Even wtihout amalgams, you have to be careful not to do more than your body can handle. Anytime you encourage mercury detox, it causes a systemic reaction as it's being moved around, some can come out, the rest gets reabsorbed again until the next bout of detox.

Some emergency tips: Heavy metals in the brain cause inflammation in this area. Inflammation is toxic to the brain cells and can cause cell distruction. This leads to symptoms which can resemble MS. The myelin sheath is being destroyed by both metals and inflammation.


So, if this is the case, stay away from any direct warmth such as sun light and heat which will aggravate the brain inflammation causing cell death and swelling. This again will lead to congnitive symptoms.

Next, cut every product which contains bad fats. Meaning all fats other than omega 3 - fish oils (don't eat fish, take oils which are documented metal free) and olive oil.Take a good vitamin E product containing several forms of the vitamin. Take som vitamin C as this also combats inflammation.

Stay away from all milk products, not only does milk aggravate inflammtion, but it contains calcium and glutamic acid. None of these are helpful for a suffering brain. Take a few mg magnesium several times a day. Too much magnesium can cause numbness and low blood pressure. But this mineral is excellent for inflammation caused by mercury.

All meat, every grain, legume (especially soy), nuts and seeds are very high in glutamic acid. This amino will worsen inflammtion in the brain. Eat lean chicken, all vegetables and fruit (berries are especially good for protecting the myelin sheath and blood-brain barrier). If you must eat grains, then a little rice and potatoe are the best option. Avoid all processed products as these contain MSG which is toxic to the brain.

If you live in a sunny country, wear a hat to protect the brain from the heat and radiation.

AND: stay away from saunas. Only robust, healthy people have the strenght to withstand the side-effects. The body has to work very hard to counteract the increase in body temperature using up much needed energy.

I did a few saunas before removal and felt okay, but now i cant do saunas after removal, i have real bad side effects and it lasts days on end, someone on here mentioned that i may have inhaled other peoples mercury.

im not on a candida diet.but i do eat fairly healthy.
ive take about 400mg a day of magnesium,b 50 supplement,
flax seed oil,cod liver oil, vit c,milk thistle and colostrum.to help support my immune system.
ive also just finished a parasite cleance.which did seem to help with my symptoms. i also do enemas twice a week.to help detox my liver and colon. and started using some detox foot pads.

Smitho, even though you sit with your head outside, the increase in body heat will also include the head area. It doesn't automatically stop at the neck <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> This could cause some brain swelling and lead to symptom worsening. Just my 2 cents though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have terrible problems with direct sunlight. I quickly feel very hot and faint which takes hours to wear off. I am interested in whar you had to say anonymous about sunlight, the brain and swelling. Is there anywhere i can get more info on this

Bex is right on....we have to get the candida under control and the digestion optimized before attempting any chelation. Mercury and other heavy metals have an affinity for yeast and they will hide in the yeast spores rather than be eliminated from the body. And if digestion is poor and for most of us it is, the mercury mayget recirculated rather than being expelled.

Hi Richard, I personally believe heavy metals have disrupted the brains ability to cool the body when exposed to sun rays. This causes swelling/oedema. Heavy metals have caused much neurological damage for many of us most sick so this makes sense. Sun rays (UVA) also cause oxidative damage which contributes to inflammation. Heavy metals are resposible for free radical damage in the brain area so adding the free radical load from the sun ray exposure is kind of a double whammy.

There is actually a name for brain swelling, see below. These patients are adviced to stay away from sun rays, heat and exercise (which raises body temp.).
