hey everyone, just wanted to let you all know that I stopped chelating with ALA, and am virtually going back to the drawing board. The reason for this is very bizarre tho, the ALA really did help I feel, and probably for the past month I have really felt back to normal again, and it feels great. But i may aswell not be feeling good because something is still wrong, something I really can't explain, which makes it so unbearingly frustrating!
I've suffered from anxiety and depression ever since I can remember, and its safe that they are both 80% gone. Still anxious now and then, particularly in social situations, but not nearly as bad as I used to be. So lately I have found my self being rather relaxed in social situations which feels great, however I have very inconsistent phases where I feel relaxed and yet people around me avoid me and don't want anything to do with me, ignore me, are standoffish, and even critical and angry towards me. This happens pretty much in a very wide spectrum of times and places, at work, with my family, out in social outings etc. Lately this "curse" has been happening more than it hasn't, but when it hasn't its very strange: I still feel same levels of anxiety, have same anxious mannerisms, I do everything I percieve as the same as I usually do and yet its like magic! People want to be around me, they look at me not in a critical way but as an equal, they laugh at my jokes, I get more attention from women, and generally life is sooo much easier. I kno people reading this think that its just something to do with anxiety or depression still, but it is not! I kno for sure that it isn't because I feel generally quite the same all the time now, and also I can be extremely anxious socially sometimes but still have people wanting to be around me. Also some people have acctually occasionally commented that Ilook angry when I don't at all, but rather feel quite happy!
This was not caused by ALA either, and I'm pretty sure its been happening for a lot of my life, its just that in the past I was too anxious or depressed to notice. More weird things I have noticed, this "problem" seemed to get better for a short time when I started treating my self for candida again. It also seems better when my digestion is good, with good bowel movements etc. Seems excacerbated by cold weather and having nights drinking alcohol. I think excersise helps but not sure. Its just so frustrating that I don't kno what it is!
I kno I still have issues with digestion, candida, parasites, mercury, and my liver but these are all so much less evident now and symptoms are so mild that I can manage to live with them. Possible things I have thought up which could be causing these social problems include that my facial muscles are tensing or that I am not aware that I am tensing them, and its making me look frightened/anxious/angry. This is my best explanation at the moment, apart the my skin complexion which is often up and down but its still much better than it was.. Could this be mercury or heavy metals in my brain disrupting my facial expression or something?? What do you guys think...
Ok long post I kno, but I had to tell someone, as its making me very lonely, making life very hard and very nearly driving me crazy!

Hi Joey, you're not alone in this weird stuff. This is happening to quite a few people and I'm hearing this from others too.
I don't really have any explanation for this to be honest. I don't know if some people are being tested and put through things like this for a reason, I have no idea. But perhaps it is part of the mercury syndrome. maybe it does stuff to us that we don't perceive from teh inside that others pick up on and maybe they react without knowing why they feel that way.
And if you do feel you're going crazy (which you're not) just so long as you don't feel you're going crazy by yourself, because you'd have others nodding in agreement. It is very hard and a lot of people are fickle, self centered and erratic and those who are more sensitive and care more about what others think, tend to really cop it and feel isolated because of this behaviour.
I can only tell you to keep concentrated on your path of health, don't get side tracked by the inconsistant behaviour of other people, because believe me it won't be the last time it happens and that's how it is for many people who aren't any worse than anbyody else or any less likeable. It does feel like a curse yes, but I think it does test our characters severely and can cause either a feeling of despair and confusion, or forces one to look outside of the things in this world, perhaps to the spiritual (if you're a believer). Don't allow others to dictate to you how you feel about yourself by their inconsistant reactions, because trust me, this happens much more than you realise. and right when you just start to feel good, people seem to like you, you let your guard down again feeling ok about yourself and life, wham it happens again.
I don't know what to tell you. It's weird, but you're not going crazy! The problem is, you are sane. That's probably why you feel you're going crazy! People are idiots man, I'm telling you. (many are wonderful though, so I shouldn't be judgemental, but I do echo yu're frustration and hurt in that area) and can only tell you that you migh feel alone, but you're not.
It's good that you feel you can open up on here and say that, because I know it's happening to others too (me included), so it really helps to hear it.
p.s. mercury is part of this too, does some very upsetting things to how you perceive things, or how others tend to respond to you (without often knowing why themselves). But I would not lose focus and become despaired, just keep going regardless of this and get on here for any support. People on here keep me going, as do my parents. I hope you can feel the same.
Don't lose hope.

I think we have had this in another post a few months back. I have the same problem but im not looking at it as a problem because like Bex said some people are idiots and its you you have to worry about not their stupid attitudes. When im feeling ill and i have social occassions to go to, i get all the attention, everyone talks to me,(they dont know im ill) and im really part of the social scene but im not making much effort but if im feeling okay, i get ignored but i think it might be because were sensetive more to our surroundings and peoples feelings when were not focusing on how ill we feel at that time, this is my conclusion.

hey guys, thanks for your input much appreciated!
Well I must say I feel fantastic today! Energy way up, overall much more positive and not really thinking about anything like I posted above. And you know what I owe it to? Well I'm not sure whether it takes all the credit but I started taking a few things a couple of days ago. In particular olive leaf extract liquid, dam! let me tell you this stuff is great. Feel so much more positive energy. Mayb my problems are more candida/parasite/bacteria related than I think. My complexion is better today too which I can relate to the olive leaf also. I think it also does wonders for the immune system. Bowels also working better too, all in only 3 days!
I also started some powder probiotics which are great, and a liquid herbal liver tonic, which is also real good. I think I respond so much better to liquid as opposed to capsule. Also started apple cider vinegar again which is helping also. I think I'm just gonna stick to everything liquid as I think my digestive system likes it more..
I think my problem mayb was that I was too negetive, which was evident to all through my facial expression and gestures, and so on. Still very strange tho, Im not saying I'm cured either and will monitor how things are going. But hopefully this will be the best social weekend I've had for ages!

Hi joey, you're welcome. Glad to hear you're finding things that are helping. I wouldn't pin too much on what other people think or whether you hit the heights of a great social weekend or not, so long as you are finding things that are helping your health and you're coping ok. I try not to take too much notice of what other people think, because you wind up getting hurt.
I need to work on my candida also. You've made me think too, as bad as mercury is and other issues, the fact is the immune system is down and yeast and bacteria etc (parasites all of them) can pull it down even further and not allow you to get back up or heal or detox properly.
So I need to get on my diet better than what I am. Iv'e been cheating lately because of taking my neice and nephew out and I wind up eating what they're eating.
Take care and expect the ups and downs from others socially, don't take things to heart if you have a downer for a weekend. Just hang in there and keep doing what you're doing to heal yourself. Things will get more balanced the more you stick to keeping these health problems in check and not allowing them to gain a foothold again (as I do too often).
And yeah, with this illness and all the other stuff going with it, it plays havoc with your mind and emotions and how you perceive others, life in general and yourself. It's very wearying because of the continual fluctuations I have and I'm sure others have too. It even alters the way I look all the time. I can't figure it out.

ok so I experimented tonight. Socially today I was doing well, got along with my family well, they wanted to be around me etc. In the afternoon I went for a jog, which produced a lot of sweat, and also had a hot epsom salt bath to sweat out some toxins (both of which I think are helping). Anyway these seemed to help and people continued to be happy around me. So i decided to go the a party but not drink and see how I went.
So i turn up, feeling good, not very anxious, depressed or anything. Before turning up also I chek the mirror and I look calm, face not very tense or anything, eyes look calm and so on. This is a good sign, and when I Rock up to the party people say hello, people talk to me look at me and take interest in me. So generally I'm having a good time. So then I decide to have a beer since I'm feeling good, and see what happens. Bang, pretty much straight away after people don;t want anything to do with me, dont look at me and I become isolated once again. Although the way in which this change is fairly subtle to start off with, I definately notice it! Argh, so soon after I see no point in staying so I say good bye to a couple of fairly uninterested people and leave.
Chek myself in the mirror after and notice some subtle changes in complexion, acne maybe a bit more flared up, skin a bit more oilier, but nothing too noticable. More importantly tho I notice that my face is a bit tense and my eyes look wider somehow, like I'm staring instead of looking, and they do look like they have some fright in them. A physcial symptom that I could actually feel which I noticed was that when I had the beer, my face seemed like it was colder, particularly my nose, cheeks and eyes, and this is usually accompanied by cold extremeties which I get a lot, which does signal poor circulation.
It was important to realise tho that I did not feel any different, and was my usual self, and that it was solely other peoples reactions to me. So my new theories are that the root cause is facial muscle tension possibly caused by poor circulation in my face or something to do with facial nerves? Also the fact that the alcohol basically created this makes me think that I still have leaky gut or candida issues, which is weird cause I didn't get bloated or anything from the beer, mayb a bit of gas thats it. Also I'm thinking liver congestion or toxicity could also be causing this, even tho I'm feeling good at the moment I could and fairly sure I do have a congested liver still. Going to do a liver flush this week and see how I go, it'd be great if this "cured" my problem. Apart from this I am almost certain there is something going on with my facial muscles, making me look tense or something. Could poor circulation be causing this ? I read on another forum that someone with anxiety had botox injections and its made their social life extremely easier. Id love to find the root cause of this but mayb I may need to fork out for some botox, so that I may look more calm...

Interesting thread guys....just goes to show how bad alcohol is for us. I know firsthand about that. Joey wrote....
"Seems excacerbated by cold weather and having nights drinking alcohol. I think excersise helps but not sure. Its just so frustrating that I don't kno what it is!"
Our bodies produce acetaldehyde gas when we drink and it methylates mercury, that is why it feels worse when we drink...sugar and caffeine also methylate mercury to a lesser degree.
Joey wrote....
"Mayb my problems are more candida/parasite/bacteria related than I think. My complexion is better today too which I can relate to the olive leaf also. I think it also does wonders for the immune system. Bowels also working better too, all in only 3 days!"
Candida harbours mercury, so we feel better when we get rid of it, and it clogs up our colon and bladder so we don't eliminate the toxins as well either. As long as we have mercury we will have candida, our bodies produce it as a buffer from mercury's toxic effects.
Joey wrote...

Good detective work Joey, you solved it, good job listening to your body. Acetaldehyde and mercury have a synergistic toxicity....mercury is used in it's manufacture.....I read that somewhere. I think it was in an article about the mercury in Miminata Bay, that is a very interesting read. I will see if I can find it. I still get cold too, and exercise is really good for that...merury does affect circulation big time.
Take care and keep up the good work.
Sandi xoxo

thanx for the input, you guys are great! Bex, in reply to the spirits thing, yes I do actually respond much better to spirits. About three weeks ago I had a night where I had spirits only and did do quite well, not many problems socially at all. This is very short lived tho usually, and the same problems come back (the weird facial one I have been talking about) and people act weird towards me several days after.
Its true I should not drink, but its very hard not to at my age. I'm 21. Going out with my friends and they all drinking, its hard indeed. I do restrain myself and say that I'm driving and can't and they respect that, but hte fact is also that I like drinking and one day I would like to be able to have a few beers or other drinks without any problems.
Sandi as for the circulation thing, I do have very poor circulation still, my toes are stone cold as I type this! But I'm not sure whether its to do with mercury or other heavy metals, mayb candida, bacteria? Its just that I do not expereince the anxiety or bad depression that I used to, and usually these symptoms signal mercury in the blood. But I must admit I have been having epsom salt baths lately to sweat toxins out and they make me feel gooood. So does exercise..
I am very sure however that I have a congested liver, as I pretty much display all the symptoms, and its so obvious. I think i do have a alot of trouble passing fatty foods, and often times stool are very pale, poorly formed and very inconsistant. I'm definately going to do a liver flush tomorro night, and infact am very excited about doing it. Hopefully it will be a success. Its true that sluggish liver could be causing all these symptoms I suffer from. Another reason why I think liver maybe a problem is that about 4 months ago I started juicing vegetables. One day I juiced a fair amount of beetroot and carrots, which are both used for cleansing and flushing the liver. This is pretty disgusting but the bowel movement i had after this was huge, and had some black sludgey bile in it, pretty foul smelling too. After this I instantly felt better, more energy, brain fog cleared A LOT, and anxiety seemed to magically disapear. I thought this was awesome however other problems seemed to emerge or get worse, complexion got worse, I got dark bags under my eyes, skin red and blotchier, and the problem of people responding to my facial expression seemed worse too, much worse.
So I'm thinking that liver isn't doing a good job of regulating my digestion and is not filtering toxins from my blood properly, causing poor circulation, lack of energy, feeling down, bad complexion, bags under eyes, acne etc. Mayb even these facial issues which I think have to do with poor circulation are traced to my sluggish liver also.
Any of you guys have experiences with liver flushes?

Man I can related to you on how people always interpret your facial expression as anger. It sounds trivial but this is a huge problem for me.

I did a some liver flushes. You will feel good for while, I mean carrot-and-beetroot-juice good. Maybe you have a mild allergy to alcohol. Maybe take an antihistamine or try to clear it with NAET technique - PM me for details

Hi Joey, I can completely understand where you're coming from. You're only 21 and you have every right to join in with your friends and other people and be able to drink and socialise (and this is the time to do it). I'm just really sorry you have to have this weird backlash from stuff you do that has visible effects and negative reactions from others. Especially at that age where people tend to be very very looks orientated. Other seem to be able to consume alcohol and take for granted not having much occur, (other than a next morning hangover at the most) and for you it produces some weird wacky external symptoms, moreso than what you feel inside.
What it does tell me though, as that even though you have less metals/mercury in you and are better in that respect, it takes time for those areas to heal again and it seems something happens eachtime you consume alcohol that it alters something in perhaps the nervous system or whatever part of the brain controls the nerves in the face and expression, plus the skin itself. So if it doesn't happen almost immediately, it gets you later on.
Are you consuming enough fats? so that your brain is able to begin healing up and your nerves etc? Be wary of liver flushes if you're toxic, can overload things too. Might be ok, but i'd be careful.
The main things are no sugar, no yeast, no gluten grains, and having healing fats like including butter, extra virgin olive oil, organic coconut oil etc in your diet and even eating fat on meat. I'd eliminate fruit and milk if you haven't already and eat mainly meat, eggs, acidophilus yoghurt, healthy vegetables (excluding potatoes because of the starch/natural sugar) and eating raw vegetables like grated carrot, beetroot, cabbage etc, as they act as an intestinal broom and are excellent for the liver and having things like raw nuts (brazil and almonds). The fats and protein help bile production and are for healing, particularly the brain (pure fish oil, like from nordic naturals is another one to include).
Just some suggestions. Though you've obviously eliminated some metals, it does sound like you have healing to do, which will be why the alcohol is affecting the nerves and skin (nervous tissue).
That's just my view though, I am no professional and am trying to gather from those symptoms what could be contributing or happening.

Hi Joey,
I'm with Bex, I would try and avoid alcohol altogether and if you want to have a drink or 2, have tequila or vodka, nothing made with grains or fermented fruits. And doing the diet is crucial, no sugar, dairy or gluten...it will cause congest the colon and then the mercury is not elliminated but just recycled. Mercury screws up the digestion totally, as soon as that is out, everything will normalize and your body will reach homeostasis and heal itself. Circulation, thyroid issues, everything will get better, but it takes time.
In the meantime, do the diet, take some liver support like milk thistle and reach for the stars. You are lucky to find this out at 21 and you have your whole life ahead of you.
Best luck Joey, Sandi xoxo

I try not to take too much notice of what other people think, because you wind up getting hurt. Nicely nailed Bex! I heard this somewhere that if you REALLY knew all the things your so-called friends thought or/and said behind your back about you, then you would not even consider them friends anymore. So it is best to perceive the idea of others thinking bad about you as irrelevent to your health pursuits. Hey Joey, I agree with Bex and Sandi regarding the Candida diet and the spirits. One thing I may add is that regarding the hard spirits, according to the theory, if you’re a 0 blood type, then you should not have any hard spirits but wine is ok to consume. Hence, if you’re of a certain blood type for which hard spirits are toxic whilst being mercury poisoned and dealing with Candida, then none of the spirits are ok to consume.

Yup, and I am an O, and I think many of us are....I think there is a common thread between mercury toxicity and type O blood types....and not just coincedence.
I agree booze is out, and I like what you say about friends...we really find out who our real friends are thru battling this illness...some ridicule us, some abandon us and some support us, but most of them are in the first 2 categories. I wouldn't want to know what they say behind my back...or maybe I would.

I don't get side effects from alcohol or other drugs when my copper is completely gone. However even small amount of copper is all it takes to get side effects from alcohol.
Chelation is the only thing that is slowly curing the copper problem for me. Obviously zinc and molybdenum help but they aren't enought to fully cure it for me.

hey guys, just finished my first liver flush last night. Quite nasty let me tell you, I woke up quite sick last night needing to spew but didn't in the end, just watched some tv and went back to bed. I've pretty much had continual watery stool all day, with it have passed a lot of debri, but only a small amount of stones, dark green ones and some tan ones, the biggest one being about 1 cm long. I must say though I'm feeling pretty good, apart from being tired which is understanding, but in general I feel quite "clean". Its weird something is definately different today but I can't really explain it..
I've come up with a new theory on my problem. Although it could be anything discussed above, I'm pretty sure now that it has to do with retaining water in my body, or edema. I've never really looked that close but I'm pretty sure I do get edema in the face, and it looks more swollen sometimes, perhaps all the time. Mayb this is what changes my facial features to make me look angry or whatever. I say this because sweating seems to help and yesterday at the start of the day people acted weird toward me but as soon as a sweated a bit during the day (during physical work outside on a hot day) then magically peoples reactions to me swung around to being positive.. Its quite amazing really, and totally frustrating at the same time! lol. Another frustrating thing is that water and fluid intake seems to effect it, and its funny cause I've been drinking a ton of water everyday for my health but maybe this is what has been making me worse... Also my feet, hands and face sweat more than other parts of my body, which are the parts of my body which are most likely to retain water..
I always knew sweating helped. So now I gota find the root cause of this. I must say tho that since doing the liver flush I look better in the face, less swollen, and also my ankles and other parts of the body that retain water look more defined. I also cheked the scale and I'm hovering on 68 kg and I'm usually 70 -71. This is probably also due to lack of food intake for the cleanse, but mayb the flush has allowed me to get rid of excess water retained in my body? A lot of fluid sure has come out of me I'll tell you that...

ok right after I wrote this post I expelled about another 10 stones, all bigger than I've passed so far, the biggest being about 2cm! This is good, I jus hope they aren't just the olive oil solidified or something...

ok I kno I have replied to myself two times now but I'm onto something. A sign of pitted edema is when you hold pressure on the skin in the area of the water retention for a while and when you let go there should be an indent there which will remain for a while. This happens with me! on my face, neck, arms, legs, virutally everywhere! When I wear a rubber band on my arm for a time, the indent stays for nearly the whole day when I take it off! This is not normal.. When I take off my sunnies also, leaves a mark for a while on either side of my nose. I always knew my face looked swollen, mayb this was what is preventing my face from showing emotion, which is what is detering people?
By the way, went out today after liver flush and got a great reception from people. Definately onto something now...

No that isnt olive oil- those are cholesterol stones. Many of them will be BRight green to dull green or brown. They are better out than in!
I get them out when I do Dr Hulda's liver flush with olive oil and grapefruit and epsom salts.

yea the liver flush helped me a lot, my digestion seems a bit better I think.
Anyway I think I've found out what I was doing for real this time! I think I do suffer from edema but that was not the cause of my problem. It turns out the cause is quite simple and there all along except I never really noticed it. I few years ago I developed the tendency to push my jaw forward when I'm talking and when I'm not so that my bottom teeth were in front of my top teeth. I think this is what has been making me look angry! As I was looking in the mirror and doing it and noticed that I look happier and more content when I don't do it. Its quite weird also but I feel happier too, like it has released a lot of tension on my body and mind when I consiously try to relax my jaw!
I have also noticed since consiously trying not to do it that my family has been so much more receptive and I am much more talkative. This is so strange.. mayb by doing this I was restricting bloodflow in my face or something. I can't believe that a problem I consider to be ruining my life has such a simple answer.. I'm still wary however and will not get my hopes up.. Thanx anyway guys for your help through this crazy ordeal of mine...

Check out this site, under CONCLUSIONS it talks about the swelling you describe..... http://www.kitchendoctor.com/healthconditions/adrenal_exhaustion.htmlSandi xoxo
