The modern era of silver began in 1893 when C.Vion nageli reported the first systematic investigation into the lethal effects of metals (especially silver) towards bacteria and lower life forms. From 1900 to the beginning of the antibiotic era-circa 1940- silver was one of the mainstays of medical practice in europe and america. colliodal silver became the choice of medical practitioners and was used to treat literally hundreds of ailments, including lung infections such as pneumonia, TB, pleurisy, gonorrea, syphilis, cuts, leg ulcers, eczema, impetigo,typhoid, tonsilitus, and many more.

however, with the coming of the antobiotic era and because colloidal silver became increasingly expensive to manufacture, it fell to disuse- it being replaced by first sulfur drugs, then penicillin and since then by hundreds of specialised antibiotics (which drug companies made millions from because they could patent the drug but not the use of silver) under the onslaught of antibiotic warfare,the second half of the 20th century witnessed the seeming eradication, or at least control, of most of mankinds ancient plague scouges.
yet by the 1990s the picture began to change! this is because more and more germ species previously controlled by antibiotics began to develop ways to combat antibiotics. This in turn gave rise to so called super germs, such as killer E. coli, flesh eating Strep a bacteria, multiple antibiotic resistant TB bacteria and chloroguine-resistant malarial parasites. My mum had a bad infection in her jaw recently, even after the dentist took the tooth out there was pain and swelling, she was given antibiotics, (2 lots) but it was no good.
She took colloidal silver as instructed on the bottle and is now pain free and no swelling.

I would like to add a few notes on colloidal silver. Not all silver is the same and made the same. Please if you use it get it from a good company as I suggested in the other thread. Also, do your home work and read about the side effects. With good quality silver, there is no side effects. But just be carefull. I have used it and I think it is one of the best natural anti-biotics out there. It has time and time helped me get over things that I would normally had to go to my GP for. Does colloidal silver kill yeast and parasites too? Because I have a bottle that I bought from Herb Allure, and I would like to use it next time this ever-lingering cold flares up again....but I am worried that I might get die-off if it also kills yeast. I'm kind of scared to risk it, because I can't risk severe die-off when I am in school and have a million exams and papers due.

Anyone with candida take this? Did you get die-off? Or does it not kill yeast and I don't have to worry about it?

Thanks for the reply above. So it sounds like the Colloidal Silver might kill candida too? I just want to check because I want to use the silver for sinus/flu problems, but I do NOT want to have to worry about it killing off the candida and causing die-off. I'm taking Nystatin for my candida right now, and used many natural antifungals in the past. The natural ones were very effective, and they often caused some bad die-off reactions that lead to flu-like symptoms, brain fog, etc. And I just don't want to risk that happening if I take the Colloidal Silver for other things, like if I want to avoid coming down with the flu, or stop it in its tracks. What do you think?

PS - I did try 1 teaspoon of the Nature's Sunshine silver today, because I think I'm coming down with something and can't risk it because of school. But I'm being cautious and am hesitant to take more because I'm worried about possible yeast die-off.....

I worry that it might kill the good bacteria too, any ideas on that???

In the past, I've looked into this issue and found conflicting studies as to whether or not Colloidal Silver kills friendly colon bacteria like bifidolphilus... some studies said it does, others said it does not.

Hi, not sure why, but Andy Cutler advises strongly against the use of colloidal silver in mercury toxic patients. He has studied mercury for many years, so he must have "some" idea of what he's talking about. Though it might be fine for some people, I'd advise caution. If Andy says to be careful of something, I take notice, because if anything, he's more lenient at times on things than he should be.

Yeah I agree Bex, it is great externally and for maybe rinsing or gargling, but I wouldn't want to orally ingest it on a regular basis...especially for those with metal toxicity or intestinal flora problems. I have read negative things about it too.

I have never tried it, i gave it to my mum for tooth pain after antibiotics didnt work and she got well.
I took antibiotics last year that really finished me off, i will never take another course again, it killed off all my good bacteria and everything escalated from there.
If i needed to take them again i wouldnt, i would try my luck with colloidal silver or oregano maybe.

It's so unfortunate but there is so much disinformation out there, especially related to medical subjects.

I now know so many people who use colloidal silver in place of nearly every topical ointment and they have become believers. I have used it on a number of occasions when experiencing the beginnings of food poisoning and it alievated the symptoms almost completely in about an hour. Many of my friends have experienced the same thing.

My brother had an odorous infection that a conventional doctor-prescribed antibiotic did virtually nothing for. Within an hour of the application of colloidal silver, the odor was gone. The next day, there was the first sign of visible healing. Colloidal silver kills bacteria on contact in a way that it cannot become immune to its effects like it can with antibiotics.
