Just thought I'd post a strange thing. When I first got my fillings out I had a tingling in my head which lasted a few months, then after that I got breathless, and had chest pains, and was hypoglycemic and then stomach pains . This all carried on for a while and then subsided and I was relatively well during the summer months.
When I hit the six month mark since my fillings were removed it all started again. I am aware that this happens to people about six months after removal. The funny thing is it has all happened in the same order again. First the tingling head, then the breathlessness, then the chest pains and hypoglycemic attacks and stomach pains. The chest pains were so bad that I was back at my doctor about it. I didn't mention mercury to her though, she would think I was completely bonkers! However, she gave me an ECG, I think this was more for reassurance as I was convinced the pain was coming from my heart. Thankfully it was fine and I am sure it was caused by the mercury cos I know it can cause chest pains, but I thought I should get it checked out anyway.
I just think its funny how alll these symptoms have reappeared in the same order that they first started in all those months ago, its like its starting from my head and working its way down, being a heavy metal I wonder if it does do that?
Anyways, just thought it was a strange thing <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Well, anonymous, I feel better just now than I did this last month, whether that will last is anybodys guess!!
Just when I think I have gone for ages without any of these symptoms, back they come so I'm wary to say that I am totally better. I'm hoping that it will get less and less but who knows?!! I have read on here and other places that the breathing difficulties probably came about because of poor adrenal and thyroid function, your adrenal glands and thyroid are often affected by mercury, so I've been taking adrenal support etc, but the real thing that helped the breathing side was that I looked up hyerventilation on the internet one day, cos really the breathing problems felt like I was hyperventilating i.e. I couldn't get enough air in me and felt like any second I would pass out, so anyway I read a lot of the tips recommended for hyperventilation, like always breathing in and out through your nose rather than through your mouth. Apparently hyperventilation is actually caused by the opposite of what you feel, i.e. instead of lack of oxygen you have too much because when you are hyperventilating you tend to breath faster and faster cos you start to panic and are therefore taking in too much oxygen. Another interesting thing I read about this was that a lot of people who are hyperventilating have a lack of magnesium in them , I will try and find the web site that said this, so I always now make sure I take plenty of that too. Well this has worked so far in regard to the breathing so I'm hopeful that I've solved or at least improved that problem.
As regards the tingling I had in my head that is a weird one. It was my first symptom I had when I thought it might be coming from my fillings, I actually broke a filling at Christmas last year, because it was literally Christmas Eve that this happened and also because the broken filling wasn't sore or bothering me I waited for a few weeks before getting it fixed, and stupidly let the dentist fill it up again with more dreaded mercury, I hadn't made the connection then you see. At the same time the tingling started, I put it down to the after effects of a bad ear infection which led to labrynitis. It was only looking back over a few months and what had happened that the penny dropped and I realised that all this tingling started at the same time as I broke my tooth. The tingling eventually subsided, I took omega capsules so I think they helped, but I'm not sure. At first my head would tingle on and off all day, it was scary, I thought I was taking a stroke or something. Then it got less and less until it disappeared. I did not have it again until a month ago, but this time if was much less intense so is that a sign its improving? I'm not sure. I hope so, but it was horrible at the worst point I remember just after I got the tooth refilled with more mercury I was lying in bed and my head was tingling constantly and I felt like something was trickling down inside the back of my head very very weird I have never had that again but it was very strange.
Anyway long answer to a short question, but yes generally, touch wood, I'm feeling better just now.
I will try to find the website for you regarding the breathing probs. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Ok here is the link to the website I was on about regarding the hyperventilation and magnesium thing. www.drmyhill.co.uk/index.cfmYou will see list at left hand side choose - breathing problems Then it will give you a choice - choose - Hyperventilation (makes you feel as if you can't get your breath) This will explain about the magnesium thing. Hope that helps <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />lizbet

In reply to your question anonymous. I have still a couple of silver fillings under a couple of crowns, which I'm definately not touching for the foreseeable future so there's a lot of stuff I can't or shouldn't use. When I first realised the tingling in my head was connected to mercury I immediately decided to have my five visible silver fillings removed, and I literally went and did just that without I am afraid any of the precautions from the dentist to prevent me inhaling a large amount of mercury vapour. I realised unfortunately afterwards that this was the wrong thing to do, and I ended up having much much more symptoms after the removal of the mercury than I had before hand.
I was in relatively good health beforehand apart from when the tingling started, so there is no way for the foreseeable future that I am stirring up any more mercury by removing the ones under the crowns.
I have been using an ionic footbath (the kind thats supposed to draw out toxins, heavy metals etc) and I do believe that has helped a lot. Also I have used supplements containing pectin from apples which are good for binding heavy metals, and eating lots of sulphur foods like eggs and garlic. After I initially had my fillings out I took lots and lots of epsom salt baths I don't do that so much now but it did seem to calm things down when the symptoms were at there worst. I sent away for the clay that you are supposed to bath in, I'm not so convinced about that. I decided not to bath in it cos I didn't want to risk blocking the drains, so I used it as a footbath not really that impressed with the clay, there was no change of colour it is supposed to turn black or at least have black flecks in it if it is drawing out mercury (and I followed the instructions for it to the letter ) so I personally would not get that again, but what didn't work for me may work for someone else. The other thing I have taken before and am taking now again is modifilan, it has different types of seaweed in it including algin, I e-mailed the company to ask if it would draw any mercury out of my existing fillings and they said it would not. So I have and am taking that along with lots of vitamin c and I am also taking adrenal support, as I seem to have low adrenal function. I was going to take thyroid support too, but as the modifilan contains iodine I didn't want to overdo things.
I have read a gazillon things on the internet about mercury and heavy metals and there is so much different information and points of view about it. Just when you think your on the right track you read something else that says don't do that you'll draw out more mercury or do this and you'll be better in no time its all very confusing, obviously what works for some does not for another. I have read lots and lots of articles about people who do a lot of chelation when they have had all their fillings out and are more ill than they have ever been so I don't know. Even if I had all my mercury removed I'm not sure I would do some of the chelation methods because I feel a lot of it is quiet risky and I think I would maybe just want to stick to natural ways, again I don't know suppose its a case of everyone is different and can handle different levels of it and it will improve some more than others. The thing is just like people can or can't handle different methods of chelation the same seems to apply to mercury, I know loads of people with mercury fillings, and most if not all of them are in perfect or near perfect health, I am even taking more notice now of peoples mouths - HA HA - and like I said nearly everyone I know or come in contact with have some silver fillings and the majority of them are fine, so like a lot of things what some people can handle regarding mercury in their system others can not.
