I was all in a rush to get my amalgams removed thinking this was my biggest problem in relation to my FMS and CFS symptoms.
I started researching and found out that I may have cavitations and this may be causing me more of the physical symptoms and mercury the mental symptoms.
I also have severe TMJ and at this point I wouldn't even be able to open my mouth wide enough for the bio dentist to do the work, so I am left waiting.
This has been a blessing of sorts because if I have cavitations I may just have to have the tooth extracted instead of filled.

I just wanted to say if you are having unresolved pain and symptoms after removal you may want to check into cavitations. Cavitations don't always cause pain in you mouth but cause generalized pain in your body like FMS or CFS symptoms.

The only way to be for sure if you have cavitations is doing the cavitat scan and or MRI Stir imaging.

I am having to wait till January to see Dr. Shankland if my TMJ is actually cavitations in my jaw. He is suppose to be the best in the country for this type of thing.
He does not do amalgam removal in his office so theres no risk of getting repoisoned when you see him.

I would be great to report back in January with my results if anyone is interested.

Another thing.... What good would it do if had all these beautiful cerac placed and found out that I had a cavitation underneath and had to have it pulled anyways <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the heads up Laurie, all I know is that I am glad I had my mercury fillings out first, cause I never could have stood the pain and suffering from my first root canal cavitation cleanup. It would have killed me I am sure. But I am not real sure that my holistic dentist had done one before, he may be good at fillings but he won't be doing the rest of my cavitations...I am going to see an oral surgeon in another city as soon as I am done with my move.

Maybe he didn't get the bite adjusted right on your new fillings Clare....did he use all the necessary precautions?

he used all the right precautions rubber dam mask high suction but i had jaw pain before infact iv had it for nearly 3 years normal dentists dont know why i know i get problems with my bite but im thinking cavitations it makes sense even my herbalist said i looked like i had a bacterial infection in my mouth and asked if i had a hole in my tooth or root canals but i dont so i think its worth checking out its weird i didnt even know what cavitations were till i came on this forum its helped me alot

Your whole mouth may hurt or not hurt at all. Some cavitats can lye dormant for long periods of time and not cause any pain then all of a sudden be a problem.
My whole face hurts esp. my jaw joints and muscles in my jaw.
I could have just a bad case of TMJ or could be cavitats. I will find out in January.
Please look over Dr. Shanklands site it tells you most everything you should look for. One of the big symptoms is a sour taste in your mouth.

or cavitations can cause cfs or fibromyalgia symptoms too. The toxins are slowly leeching into our bodies poisoning us a little at a time and the doctors have no idea what is causing our ill health....but they keep on doing root canals..go figure!!!!
