Hello, I have always read about the importance of selenium and vitamin C for people who are mercury toxic but when I read this article it seems to warn against taking too much of both of the vitamins as well as other ones, well thats how I read it, interested in anyones thoughts www.xs4all.nl/~stgvisie/AMALGAM/NL/SUPPLEMENTEN/selenium01.htmlJust makes things even more confusing lizbet <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Hi Tracy, how are you? I just find all this really confusing. I have been taking Vitamin C regulary mainly to help adrenal function, but I have not taken much selenium cos it makes me feel a bit sick. Having said that I'm always reading about how its very important to take selenium and when I was browsing on the internet I found the article about selenium, soooo like I said I'm even more confused now.
Can you even take a normal multi vitamin or is that no good either?

That article said ALA decreased the excretion of organic mercury(which i think is correct). It didn't say inorganic mercury though.
I'm really confused about the vitamin c + b12 combination causing problems.

This article is odd to me. It seems to be pieced together and doesn't make sense. Cuttler's statement (inserted) doesn't go along with what has just been mentioned. The article mentions that excess B12, C selenium and candida will increase methyl mercury, but Cuttler mentions that mercury doesn't methylate once inside the body.
I would research further on this.
