I read about this protocol a while ago and dismissed it, largely because it involved antibiotics which I have taken excessively in the past only to contract severe bouts of candida and other digestion issue. But recently I have been reading more and more about and I have to say, it really sounds like it may be the answer for me!

First of all many of the symptoms and chronic diseases it aims to treat are very similiar to most if not all symptoms people discuss on this forum. But for me what particularly grabbed my attention was the whole photosensitivity issue and how that relates to what the protocol aims to treat. I have had extreme photosensitivity for many years now, and my eyes simply do not adjust to light, whether its natural or unnatural light. In fact, when I go out in the light from being in a dim environment, its like I am being hit by a train every time, I have to close my eyes because they are so sensitive, my vision becomes extremely blurry, I get severe headache, dizzyness, nausea, I feel drousy, and basically feel like I'm a vampire and the light is killing me.. lol. Fluresant lights do this to me too, particularly at night and my vision seems always blurry and compromised at this time.

Also, since the protocol involves lessening light and vitamin D exposure, I must say that my symptoms generally do get worse when I am exposed to light for large amounts of time, and that I have always prefered dim environments over bright ones. I also found that when I was taking cod liver oil, vitamin D rich, it was like a nightmare and I felt terrible.

I also found out that the md practitioner I am seeing in about 2 weeks who is extremely good at what he does (he diagnosed my copper toxicity which was right on the money), just so happens to be an advocate for this protocol in Australia, one of the few I believe. So I am very eager to see him and see what he thinks...

how did you get a copper diagnosis? What do you think caused it?

I got my hair elements done and the doctor diagnosed me based on the results and the symptoms i was displaying. I already knew that I had copper problems before seeing him though and was treating myself with zinc and having great success.

What caused it? I think that I have pyroluria which means I have a tendency toward zinc and b6 deficiency, but I haven't tested for this and don't think I will. This zinc defiency in turn caused a copper overload. Other than that my amalgams which I don't have any more probably put more copper into my system as well as mercury.

And yes the doctor is in Australia, but I'm sure there are some integrated medicine doctors near you
