Hi all, I have 2 more silver fillings which will be taken out next week. For two months I have been taking lots of supplements: algin, cholrea, vit e, vit c and others. I have cleaned up my diet recently. No more bread , white flour, chips, sugar but I am still drinking some caffeine usually chai green tea sometimes a little coffee. 1-3 cups a day. Does anyone know if this effects my mercury detox? All my vices are gone. Or should I limit it to one serving a day? I am a liitle addicted. I appreciate any advice or feed back. Thx, Diane

Well, I know that Hal Huggins (one mercury expert), advises against sugar, milk, caffeine, wheat etc as causing problems in mercury toxicity. He tends to emphasise proteins like beef, eggs, turkey etc and butter as aiding the process of detox.
He said he has not been able to cure a vegetarian yet.

For me personally? I don't handle caffeine too well, I find that once I start, I can't stop having it and my heart speeds up also. I feel it puts a bit of extra stress on my adrenal glands too.

Yes, stay away from the caffeine! It will deplete your adrenal system. I read that the caffeine in Green Tea is easier on the body than the caffeine in soda and coffee so you may want to slowly wean yourself off of the caffeine by drinking mostly green tea and eating some organic dark chocolate. There are more antioxidants in those two than your typical corporate brand coffee.

According to Dr. Haley, caffeine encases the mercury and facilitates its transport through cell walls (bad), something it cannot do on its own.

I wrote in another post that people can often control or eliminate some symptoms, like tinnitus, by eliminating caffeine.

Thanks you guys for all your feedback. Its the answer my flesh did not want to hear but I know I need to let caffeine go. Ive quit it maybe 80 times ( much like people trying to quit smoking). The reason I always seem to go back is becuase of the extreme tiredness, mental fog, and anti socialism. But I almost have all my amalgams out so maybe this time I can do it. How long does it take to start getting energy back and my mental state? Love you all, Diane

Hi Dianne, it's different for everybody in how long it will take to improve. The best idea, is once you have every bit removed, to start on a test safe mercury chelation protocol and keep at it.

Your body will of course try to eliminate some of the mercury on its own, but it is a slow and often painful process. Proper chelation can speed this up far more.

Depends on how you feel. If you feel that bad without caffeine and it continues and does not subside after a few weeks, perhaps you may need a little a day to keep you going. Because sometimes what works for one is not going to work for another. And if this gives you a boost, then surely a few cups a day is not going to be too awful. Perhaps you just keep it to 2-3 cups a day? but just not go over that.

Getting energy back... for me, after removal, I went through a roller coaster ride of ups and downs. The energy was back consistently in about 3 months for me.

My research has concluded this: Once you've had 1/2 cup, you've done 90% of the damage that 4 cups would do. Most people don't realize it but caffeine is potent stuff, and is especially bad when combined with mercury.

Dear Russ, Thanks for your feed back and the link to your "story". I read every page and could not stop. You were telling some of my own story. Today I got my last two alloys removed. I am a dental hygeinist and it can be very frustrating cuz everyone is naive. I will heed your advice on the caffeine usage. I pray with Gods strength I can do it this time. Also I can see I need to increase my VitC. In 2 weeks I will be seeing my chiropracor who diagnosed me via muscle testing. He said to come back and see him when all the mercury is out of my mouth to do detoxing. Do people get good results with DMSA if he recommends that?
