I am in the progess of having my amalgam fillings removed and the question that came up was could there be any amalgam fillings under my bridge work that was done last year ,well I called my old dentist and asked him about that , and he remmembered my bridge work and also told me that both teeth had a very thin layer( I remmeber seeing a very thin layer of black amalgam when my temporary fell off a few days after installed ), he said that he did'nt want to grind any deeper than he needed to save the teeth for the bridge to work and not to expose the nerves
so it sounds like there is a very thin layer of amalgam left maybe a quarter of a fillings worth at best , my question is after I have all my other amalgams removed will this small amount of amalgam hold up my recovery progess or will I have to have the bridge work redone. any one out there ever run into this problem

Based on the reading I've done, teeth are porus and whatever is in them will travel out. Covered amalgam is probably not as harmful as uncovered amalgam, but it still will cause mercury exposure to you.

I would check this info out from different sources as I'm not sure about the quality of the sources I got it from, yet it does make sense.

One of the surprises that I had in the process of safe removal of amalgam was that, if there is amalgam under a crown or a bridge, mercury will leak very readily from underneath them. This has sharply undermined my confidence in any and every crown and bridge cement and also taught me that you almost cannot stop mercury vapour from going where it wishes to go. That experience led me to conclude that in the case of health compromised patients I should not leave any crowns or bridges that give off a positive mercury reading after the frank amalgam fillings were removed. I also found that the patient will not recover fully unless ALL amalgam and ALL mercury were removed from the mouth.

well decided to have the amalgam under my bridge work removed this week , I think that it is slowing my progress and and only have one tooth that has a small amount of amalgam still in it , plus the bridge itself contains alot of different types of metal , the dentist said that he will use a non metalic type of bridge , dose any one out there know which is the best type of non metalic type of bridges or crowns ? just trying to avoid problems in the future

well had by bridge removed on tuesday and was told by the dentist that the last of my amalgams under the gold bridge was directly contacting each other with no sealer in between them causing a constant electical current , ever since it was removed my lower back and my left side up to my shoulder have been in pain , I am wondering what is going on now ? anyone got a clue ?

There may be some heavy metals moving around, take lots of vitamin C and algin to flush that stuff out. Selenium and cilantro if you body tolerates them will help too.

Congrats on getting the last of the metal out!!!! And feel better soon. My chronic neck and shoulder pain was almost totally gone the day after my first quadrant was removed....after more than 20 years of disabling pain.

have been going down hill all week after bridge and last small bit of amalgam removal , last night started having night sweats , have not had them in years , what is going on?
I have not changed my eating habits or suppliments ,can not figure this thing out .i was feeling much better just two weeks ago before dental work was done by my mercury free dentist ( same safety protocols as before ) and starting to have ringing in the ears also followed by feeling like crap about 3 hours after hearing ringing in the ears
