I am so confused at the moment with peoples contradictions. I am wanting to get my amalgams out because it may be causing my anxiety and depression. But my practitioner recommends not getting them out as it can complicate situations such as exposure and too much for body to take? its best to leave them in and chelate apparently now? I always thought you shouldnt chelate as it pulls the mercury from the amalgams?

Someone I went to for another opionion told me the same thing. He told me to use NCD to remove some of the mercury from my system slowly (it's supposed to be safe with amalgams), to reduce my body load of mercury because I am so sick. He told me he doesn't see me getting the amalgams removed for a year or two or I will get dramatically worse. My biological dentist that I regularly go to told me differently. He feels I need to start getting them out to get better and I will not get dramatically sicker. He also agrees with me taking NCD (that's what he is using with a lot of his patients with good success) - he wants me to take it for a month and then start removal.
I know how you feel. You don't know which way to go or whose opinion you should go by. Right now I just started the NCD but want to start removals slowly soon - although these other opinions cause such amibivalence in me - this is why I haven't removed them until now. But I feel like I'm getting nowhere but worse as I wait.

I am one day post amalgam removal, so take this for what it's worth.
Right now, I feel noticeably better. And I was absolutely, 100% NOT expecting that at all. I was very wary of the placebo effect, and was actually more worried about feeling worse.
I felt a real lightness in my head last night. No tinnitus, no ear pressure, few leg tingles, and a calm brain. Again, I was NOT expecting this at all.
I found that some symptoms returned a bit, but that was after I popped a mega vitmin-c. Could've caused it. Or mercury may have been moving.
Today, I feel really, really good. Probably the best I've felt since the health crisis that started this all 3 months ago.
I'm still very nervous about mercury dumping, and what's to come, but I plan to chelate according to the Cutler protocol soon, hopefully with DMPS.
My point: I would think about getting them out. IF you can find an absolutely scrupulous, merc free, biological dentist. I would also recommend reading everything you can on preparation for the process. I wouldn't take wild suplements: just fish oil, C, E, magnesium and perhaps a few others that Andy recommends.
Also, be STRICT with your dentist! Have the guts to tell him or her to clean all the mercury out, wash your mouth thoroughly before putting the composites in, have a vacuum right above the tooth at all times.
If you can do all that, it may be worthwhile to have your amalgams out.

Regarding the "dumping" of mercury, Hal Huggins talks about this also in his book It's All In Your Head. If I remember, he found about 80-85% of people that have their amalgams removed correctly will find that their bodies begin to release mercury without the need for chelators, at least initially. Cutler refers to this as the "fast dump" of mercury. At this stage, having Algin on hand would be ideal. Otherwise, try to take in a lot of fiber such as whole bran fiber or even Psyllium Hulls. Of course, drink lots of water. Vitamin E with Selenium would be ideal, as well as vitamin C. Russ has posted some helpful information on MercuryTalk.com < Detoxing Mercury>. Definitely read the part about the body's 7-day immune cycle. Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress.

Russ or Laura, Have you heard of people not being able to get Algin if you live in California? My niece is a distributor, but when she tried to order it for me, she said that it shows as not being available in California.

If a parson has apolipoprotein e4, would'nt they be unable to excrete hg without supplements and chelators?

Yes, that's correct. At this time, NSP cannot ship Algin to California because of California's legislation called Proposition 65. If you have family or friends who live outside California, your niece could have it shipped to them and then they could ship it to you. Or, I can ship it to you from my own stock (I always keep lots of bottles on hand, just in case it's ever discontinued or on backorder). In a nutshell, Prop 65 limits even trace amounts of certain substances, even if they exist naturally in nature, from products that manufacturers ship into the state...this includes all nutritional supplements. According to NSP's Health Sciences department: Algin is not currently available for sale in California due to Proposition 65 regulations. The six capsules recommended daily for Algin (2 capsules 3 times daily) may exceed the limit for lead content according to Prop 65.
Prop 65 comes from the State of California’s “Safe Drinking and Toxic Enforcement Act” of 1986. Almost 10 years ago, the State of California passed Proposition 65. Although national safety levels for heavy metals already existed, Prop 65 established California-only allowable levels for daily ingestion of four heavy metals—arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury. These standards were significantly different than standards in all other states. In fact, Prop 65 standards are so stringent as to actually declare yams, turnips, artichokes, apples, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers and many more fruits and vegetables to be in violation. Even California’s culinary water supply violates Prop 65. Because Prop 65 standards aren’t met in nature, the drinking water, fruits and vegetables grown in California were exempted. The requirements for herbal products, however, remained unchanged.
I hope this information is helpful.
Sincerely, Gina Benson NSP Scientist Health Sciences Department So apparently, people in California can eat fruits and vegetables and drink the water, regardless of even higher levels of lead than what "may" occur in 6 capsules of Algin, which actually helps prevent heavy metals from being reabsorbed back into the body as the body tries to eliminate them. Go figure! By the way, I've been taking Algin for years and I take more than 6 capsules a day usually.

Thanks Laura. That's our California for you. We can have amalgams put in our mouths, but can't get Algin. I'd like to say LOL, but it's frustrating to say the least. Thanks you for your kind offer, too.
