I am wiped out for days if I exercise or work too hard. Is there anything that will help prevent this?

When we exercise we can also mobilise mercury and if the body is unable to detox it it can get reabsorbed. You could try Algin which is reported to soak up mercury in the gut and see if that makes any difference

I would take Algin before and after exercise. When I do that I don't get any symptoms. Obviously Algin is doing its thing.

I was exercise intolerante before amalgam removal , I would do a light work out and feel like crap within a few hours and on somes day part of the next day too, I had some symtoms after amalgam removal but not as bad ,It started getting better as I started to heal ,what really helped me alot was doing colinics one every week for the fist two months ,this will help you get those stubborn toxins out and help you heal much faster

Everytime you exercise, you cause a redistribution of some of the mercury (or other toxins). They go into your circulation for a while, make you feel like garbage and then resettle again in other areas.
I am assuming you no longer have amalgams? if not, DMSA can help clear some of this mercury out and some find they are more tolerant of exercise whilse they're taking DMSA because it's there in the blood already grabbing some of the freed up mercury.
I'd advise taking it the way Andrew Cutler suggests, which is one pill, (e.g. 25 mg - 100 mg) every 4 hours around the clock (yep even at night, so you need to set an alarm). You do this non stop for about 3 days (or up to a week if you wish) and then break for the same amount of time you spent on it. And then do it again and repeat the same cycle till you start improving. This ensures that the DMSA remains at the same level in the blood stream and then can grab and remove mercury more consistantly and safely. If the DMSA is taken sporadically, it can actually CAUSE redistribution, because of the infrequent dosing. It must be taken every 4 hours, or the levels of DMSA drop too low after that point.
This can help. Algin is another product that can be of great benefit apparently. It is natural and the owner of this forum recommends this is one of the primary things to take for mercury poisoning. It can act as a sponge and can be taken whether you have amalgams or not.
Some find it helps them tremendously. Depends on how it works for you. Algin is not a chelator however, it will simply sponge up mercury in comes in contact with. i do not know how effective that would be with mercury in the blood, but DMSA is VERY effective with that side of it.
You may also find that if you ever have a hot bath, that you may feel horrible after that as well. When your blood stream is still high in mercury, bathing in hot water can sometimes encourage some of it to come out via the pores (as with exercise). So you can sometimes get a redistribution off that as well. But it can be a good thing to do to help eliminate some more mercury. It's just the side effects of anything that stirs mercury up that's unpleasant.
But DMSA will clear your blood of mercury. If you have amalgams, then I'd not advise chelation and algin might be the safer choice in that respect.
Though "Some" seem to do ok chelating with amalgams, generally it is not always recommended.

In Andy Cutler's book he mentions that severe fatigue after a workout is called an ACTH response. Which means the reverse reaction to exercise, instead of being energized one is wiped out and attributes this to adrenal fatigue. He suggests using coritsol supplementation. Recently, I began cortisol supplementation and take it when going into stressful situations. I am unable to work out still because I am 3 months post amalgam removal and was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue, but the coritsol supplementation has helped me get things done. My doctor and I are following Andy's protocol to start out small (2.5 mgs). So far some days I need just the 2.5 other days need 5.0, and a couple of days needed the 7.5. Only recommended under a doctor's supervision.

Me again...I should have said this helps me get things done while my adrenals are healing. There are other things that one must do for adrenal healing. It's in Andy's book. You might also have thyroid issues. Alot of folks with mercury poisoing have thyroid AND adrenal issues. Here's a link that might help you understand if this is you... http://www.drrind.com/scorecardmatrix.aspGabriella Gabriella

Thank you for your response. I had my last amalgam removed in July of 2006, still have one crown, so am reluctant to try the DMSA. (Where to get DMSA?) I will start to use the algin on a regular basis and see if that helps. I should consider getting the crown removed soon so I can start the chelation. There are so many health issues involved in mercury toxicity it is difficult to know where to begin. I almost did a liver cleanse, but Cutler says not to. Gabriella suggests adrenal support. I don't have a Doc that will give me cortisol, would an herbal or homeopathic be appropriate? Are all of these other problems solved once you chelate? Should i just get the crown off and start the DMSA? I do have Cutler's book, but find it very difficult to navigate. MM

First of all, I suggest finding a doctor and naturopath team or one in the same, to help you with this if possible. These folks are much more open to both medical and herbal supplementation as you heal. Of course, all of us on this forum would suggest you get the crown replaced with an appropriate material. Porcelain seems pretty safe for most folks, BEFORE you begin chelation. Chelating while the source of the mercury is still in your system causes unneccessary issues and can be steered clear of just by waiting. If the Andy Cutler book is a little hard to navigate I suggest you also participate in the yahoo forum specifically for folks who are follwing his protocol. There you can ask specific questions about the book and the moderator and participants are very knowledgeable, as well as Andy himself, participates. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/frequent-dose-chelation.Lastly, sometimes herbs work for people, and sometimes they need more, hence the cortisol. If you are located in Southern California I can suggest two very good doctors and naturopaths to help you, or in Cinncinati, Ohio as well. Gabriella

Sorry, forgot to also say that on the yahoo forum there are links to sources of cortisol without prescription. Although, I really do not recommend this if you are just learning about mercury detox. There are other links there as well that educate you about the adrenals and thyroid.
