A few months after removing my fillings i got a very weird feeling in my body several times a day. Sometimes it can last for hours. It feels like adrenaline rushes, or líke my chest is bursting or exploding. I feel very very tense, but it rather physical than emotional. It's similiar to panic attacks, but not as bad. (It does feel very bad but i can deal with it in social situations) Sometimes i am even not anxious it's more a physical 'hyper' feeling. I also feel very irritable at the same time. It can be triggered by stress but often it's not. The first time i got this was shortly after i did some stupid chelation and redistributed too much mercury. So i am often worried that i could have caused some damage and that is why i am getting this. I NEVER had this before i removed my amalgams. I am 15 months post removal and maybe this is just a sign the the body is detoxing and thats why i am experiencing this??? I read this interesting story of a woman who had her fillings removed and had panic attacks for many months while her body was detoxing. http://www.positivehealth.com/article-view.php?articleid=491Her story is similiar to mine. I had chronic depression but no anxiety. After removal depression got slowly (a bit) better but now i feel much more anxious, irritable etc. I wonder if what i experience is a 'healing' crisis? I had my fillings removed because of depression and I never had anxiety. The only time i got it was when I took antidepressants and my depression lifted a bit. When i experience this i am usually not depressed. Very strange. I can feel very irritable, anxious and hyper OR depressed but not both at the same time.... ( i am not taking any antidepressant at the moment) Anybody here who got the same after removing fillings???

My personal opinion, I'm not a doctor so take it with a grain of salt.. but mercury, as it did in my case anyway, tends to do the opposite, weaken your muscles, numb them, and make you heart slow down, feeling quite weak, not an adrenilin rush sensation at all. It'll make your hands numb, your legs numb, everything, foggy head etc.
However, plastics/solvents might make you feel kind of high and give you a trembling nervous rush sensation. Plastics are all essentially petroleum deriviative synthetics and as a plastic material they are inert but when mixed with the saliva in your moutth they break down ever so slowly into their original chemical components. For the same reason, aspartame is quite dangerous since it is composed of a wood alcohol synthetic, but your body breaks it down into the original wood alcohol once ingested, which cause blindness and cancers.

Not necessarily, remember there are people who get a manic episode from mercury exposure. But you could be right, maybe my body has become very sensitive after removal and reacts to other things now. Nicola, I am taking adrenal cortex extract. The adrenal theory does makes sense. I get also get this feeling when i use algin for a while. Any idea how i could slow down adrenaline production?

The body produces adrenalin when the adrenals cannot produce enough cortisol. Adrenalin gets the stressful emergency work done that cortisol should, for example, raise blood sugar, but it is less efficient and less pleasant for the person involved! I used to get these all the time, but that stopped now I am on adrenal support. There is nothing you can do about adrenalin production. If your adrenals aren't performing the way they should, and your symptoms are unpleasant and unmanageable, then you should look into replacing the cortisol your adrenals can't make.
If you feel your glandular is helping you, continue with it, or maybe up the dose. If you don't, you might want to google Isocort - this glandular actually contains 2.5mg of cortisol per tablet.
You need to be aware of the implications of adrenal support - it can make adrenal fatigue worse - although by the time adrenal fatigue is making life difficult, you are in a rock and a hard place situation anyway. I had no choice but to take cortisol because I couldn't function as I was (bedridden, shaky, hypoglycemic, suicidal, and yes, adrenalin rushes). I should think my adrenals have withered away by now because of taking cortisol, but I wouldn't have got any better or even been able to continue with amalgam removal.
This is what mercury does to us... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> Nicola

Yes, i can perform but i feel horrible <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Nicola, do you know if low cortisol causes depression?

( I would rather have anxiety that depression any day) depression is a real show stopper for me so I am just glad it is getting better I am not sure. I hate adrenaline rushes and i hate depression. Adrenaline rushes are a bit better than depression (if they are not too intense) if they are intense i find them worse than depression <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

depression can be caused by cortisol levels being too low or too high , at first I thought that my cortisol levels were low so I started taking raw adrenal glandulars and started feeling much worse , well to make a long story short , my cortisol blood and urine lab work came back as cortisol as being very high ( borderline cushings syndrome) the doctor could not explain it and had not seen anything like it before , after much research I found that mercury can cause both high or low cortisol , a quick test you can do at home is try taking 400 mg magnesium daily , if you feel better after a few days than your cortisol is on the low side ,then you can start taking adrenal glandulars and will help your condition ,but if you start feeling worse after a few days than your cortisol is on the high side and can be confirmed by a simple blood or urine test if cortisol is high then the following herbs can help lower cortisol levels : ginseng, holy basil, or astrangulas root I chose the ginseng and was able to lower my cortisol by 1/3 within a few days of taking it as confirmed by my next blood test
