This has turned out a bit long, but hey ho, this is for you Jinx & Bex….keep on looking, keep on trying different things. No way my situation is like yours, but all I can do is tell u how I started healing……………. I was diagnosed with SIBO, small intestine bacterial overgrowth. This is similar to candida but different. That restricted my diet down to salad only and that also excluded all sulphur foods for months on end. My diet dominated my life at that time. One small wrong mouthful of something, and I’m not talking about junk nor processed foods, I’m talking normal simple healthy foods, brown rice, lentils, a tomato or veg soup with dash of cream in it. Anything that was not salad sent me into 5-10 days of huge nightmare symptoms. As I said diet dominated and controlled my life. I had to personally make every single meal for myself in those months. Which is difficult because I gotta work. But I had to do it, so I did, and eating salad only kept me……treading water, as best. At least the horrid symptoms stayed away with the salad only diet. Everything I’d read said diet was key, diet was key, diet will solve everything. Well after 7 months of many different weird and wonderful diets I was still struggling badly! The last 4 months I had a diet of salad only at breakfast, lunch and dinner and clearly something else was out of kilter. I came to realise that, yes diet was key, diet kept me from having symptoms, but that it was obviously NOT the ONLY key. Something else must be wrong, because I never once cheated on my diet in 8 months. A few errors yes, cock-ups yes, restaurants telling me the wrong things yes. But it must be something else….but what? What was holding me back? Then I went on holiday. On holiday I started getting better, I started healing. I was really hungry and put on some weight. I am very under weight. And when I got home again……back to square one again. As soon as I got back everything reverted to normal misery. Sick within 12 hours of being at home again. The more I thought about it the more I realised that was why I liked going on holiday so much…because I usually healed a bit. So it was obvious something at home was screwing me up, but what? I bought new carpets for the house, I bought a new bed mattress, replaced my pillows and duvet, changed the all the household cleaning products to “green eco warrior” stuff. still no joy. I could still not get back to how I’d briefly felt on holiday. I had done 9 liver flushes this year….so can’t be that either. I had done a kidney cleanse…so can’t be that either. So I thought I’d try stuff that I thought it was NOT, but I’d try it anyway because life had become so difficult, whatever happened I could not continue like it was for long. I was fading away. I was desperate. I have been tested for parasites loads of times. Muscle tested at least 15 times…no parasites. Stool tested…no parasites. Blood tested…no parasites. So I though bollocks why not try a parasite cleanse. I had researched it some months before and Humaworm was what I was going to try. At that time I was learning all about PH values, the alkaline/acid balance of the body. Using ph stripes I discovered I was very acidic, which is bad. I was never gonna heal-up when I was so acidic. My uber healthy diet strangely wasn’t helping and it should have been helping. One of the methods to drastically help an overly acidic body is to do a vegetable juice fast. No solid foods, only veg juice for as long as possible. I managed 7 days of only vegetable juice. I was quite proud of that, it is ……….. challenging to say the least. Lost some more weight but it was a risk i decided to take. I needed to alkalise. So…..i’m doing a parasite cleanse and a veg juice fast at the same time…… Next …………….there was a minuscule chance that I might be allergic to my cats. I really didn’t think it was possible……I have had domestic cats for all my 38 years down here. But gotta give it a try. So I found a way to possibly neutralise any hidden allergic reactions to cats. But this was the mother of all long shots! No way was this gonna make a difference. So….i’m doing a parasite cleanse, a veg juice fast to alkalise my body and removing a possible toxin form my life… the cats allergy theory. And…… And….. And…. It worked! Suddenly it was back to how I was on holiday , but I was at home. Suddenly I was hungry. The difference was a night and day kind of thing. One moment I was fading away not digesting anything, MSC, MFS constant flaring of symptoms….the next after the breakthrough….boom….i was out the other side, 60pct of my intolerance disappeared overnight, 60pct of my chemical intolerances disappeared overnight. I was healing. I could really feel it, deep inside that the turn around had arrived. Deep joy! Deep deep joy! At long bloody last removing toxins from my life had finally worked. And u know what, it was the bloody cats! Unreal, in hindsight it is easy to say “well of course it was the cats, everyone knows cats cause lots of allergies.” But being around cats on an hourly or day to day basis made no difference to my health. It was only when I was away long term that I started healing, but how was I to know that? So which was it that did it? What caused the turnaround, was it the cats? Parasite cleanse? Veg juice fast? – To be honest I don’t care I’m just overjoyed to be above my toxic limit finally. But I think about it a lot because it was a major turning point for me. It was defo the cat allergy elimination that was the straw that broke the camels back, but the parasite cleanse I had was unbelievable. And veg cleanse really helped giving my digestion a break and boosting my alkaline PH value. And all this together was the boost that I needed to start healing. Now parasite cleanse. Remember…all those tests that said no parasites. When I did the cleanse I had a huge “die-off” those critters died in the millions. Billions. So many my bowels could not handle it, BM stopped and colonic was the only way. I had jet black gunk coming out my arse like u wouldn’t believe. Felt like tons of the stuff. Disgusting it was. There was a major battle going on in my body for a good 2 weeks. All my aches and pains flared up. I had wild stabbing pains in my shoulders for a week. it felt like someone standing behind me and repeatedly stabbing me between the shoulder blades…for a week. I had full body itching for 5 full days. Crazy symptoms. But….the majority of the symptoms where familiar to me. What this showed me was that I had a major parasite problem. I have since learned certain foods are very anti-parasitic. Coconut oil, pumpkin seeds. If I eat these I get wild stabbing pains in my shoulders and horrid itchy hands and legs. I could go on and in about this, but that enough for now. I had tests they all came up negative, but they where all wrong. My body was riddled with parasites. They are much reduced now but the battle continues, I still have my aches and pains, I regular have BM’s that I class as parasite BM’s. I’m talking dark murky stinky. Nasty really. Prolly 5 days a week. Anyway…..so Bex asked how long does it take to clear candida? From my experience removing toxins from my environment enabled my body to finally be in a position to fight back. All the times before it was fighting too many other toxins to be able to look after me correctly. When the change happened it was an overnight change that was not brought on my diet. I did post extensively about the experience on the health for cats thread, because thats where it started. http://herballure.com/ubbthreads/sh...=5&o=&fpart=1#Post245860and that thread has led to many other interesting places too, but if u read the top 10 or 15 posts you will get the gist of how TOTALLY OVER THE MOON I WAS. It remains a really excellent experiment I did. I hope this helps u Bex or Jinx somehow, even if it's just knowing that someone else managed a drastic turnaround. Do not stand still. If whatever u are doing is not working, find something else to try. Try everything, that’s what I did and I am much much better now. My diet no longer rules my life. Phew!

Wow, SS, thanks for taking the time to type all that out. Drastic measures, but sometimes it's called for. I admire your efforts.
Funny because I had just been reading about acid/alkaline and then I read your message here. I have never been into juicing and got rid of a juicer we had. I got more benefit out of raw vegetables or fruit in their natural state, then I did juicing. But I understand other people find juicing has helped them a lot.
I am trying though to eat more vegetables (raw) and am having more salads lately. This might not sound like much, but it's a step I guess. I dont have cats because I am allergic to certain ones and get very very sick from that. Though I love them.
I'm off the coffee and sticking to herbal tea and trying to lessen having the black tea or earl grey, though I usually have one a day.
I know full well something is badly wrong if a cheat pulls me back to square one. Something is permanently amiss for my body to be that easy to knock down, but I pretty much know what two of those things are. Which is the persistant virus infection and possible jawbone infections. Outside of that? Possibly redisidue toxicity from the cigarettes that still hasn't made its way out (evident by the fact my body tries to detox it when I've been sticking to the diet for long enough). But going off the diet, tends to put that to an end and I start again.
Maybe this time I'll stick with it and get those residue toxins out and hopefully gain some balance back in my gut again. Right now probiotics are doing NOTHING for me, so I feel there is too many toxins for things to establish in my gut.
Haven't done a parasite cleanse for a long time, though they never helped me in the past. Candida diets did, but not parasite cleanses. Antifungals impacted me, but at that time released too much mercury from too much yeast being killed aggressively at once. This apparently can happen with parasite cleanses as well, though I didn't notice it. I assume that meant I possibly didn't have much of an issue with parasites, but more yeast.
Well, I am on day 6 with this diet. I usually have to reach 2 weeks before improvement is seen. I had been previously very good and had no cheats for a LONG time, but eating potatoe chips was the downfall, even though it's not direct sugar, still very high in carb and the flavouring too I guess.
This time it was the birthday, so that is my own fault.
I cannot have fruit, though I think fruit is very healthy. But can have lemon juice in water, so I do that with the vitamin C.
Personally I think I'm doing pretty well, but I know I need to be persistant and more careful not to get side tracked onto foods that are not much better than sugar.
Thanks again SS, it's still good to hear someone else's experience and opinion. And yes weight loss is the least of your worries, health comes first, weight gain comes later when the body is ready I guess.

Yup, drastic problems called for drastic measures. Everything that I thought it might be had been tried, so then i started on everything I had not tried and eventually I cracked it. I still have a long way to go but the corner has been well and truly been turned at last.
What started this aggressive attitude to my health is in AI he says in there somewhere that the first thing you need to do is sort out any digestive problems, otherwise everything will be much more difficult when chelation starts. My digestion was completely funked, this worried me massively. So it was all hands on deck, battles stations and I tried everything. Was a bit crazy towards the end, doing all those things at the same time…..but…..it worked!
Happy dayz.

Yeah, candida can be caused by metals but until you get the metals out, it's a good idea to treat candida as well because you can save yourself a lot of extra suffering. Plus, treating candida will help the body cope with metals and eliminate them more efficiently and help the body to heal better (that plus including healthy foods).
Unfortunately for me, it's not so much metal related these days, but infections that are allowing candida to take over. So, as I cannot really do much about my viral/bacterial infection, my battle with candida is ongoing. I may still have some metals, but if so, I'd imagine they would be deeply stored.
So I'm thinking of doing some ALA at some point in case.

yes it can be metals and/or weak immune system.
