Is Oil Pulling OK to do with mercury fillings in?

Cool, I heard about it months ago but just sort of assumed that it would be best to wait until fillings were out. So you felt better after doing it with fillings in?

Ok, I find this really interesting. I just can't stand the feeling of pure oil in my mouth, and hate the pure taste of all the oils I can think of (fine for cooking). The VCO I have definitely tastes like coconut.
I may try anyway just to see what my reaction is.

Well, I have to say, I'd never heard of this, until I saw this post. When I read this, I went to Curezone and read so much about it. I am amazed that something so simple, could help so many people. So, I am trying it out. I gagged at the thought of putting ANY oil in my mouth, but I did twice today. I used extra virgin olive oil, with two drops of Oregano Oil (which I saw many people on curezone had been doing, and I have a lot of it handy). I have to say, it wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined. For anyone that hasn't tried it yet, as long as you remember to keep "swishing" it around, you don't really taste anything. It's when you stop, that you'll get a bit of a taste. Spit it out quickly when you're done, rinse your mouth with water, and swish it and spit. Then brush your teeth. It's really not that bad at all. I am going to do it at least once a day, twice if I get the chance, and I will post back here when/if I notice any changes or improvements. So far after the second time today, I almost thought I already noticed that my teeth looked a little whiter. Of course there's not a whole LOT in my mouth that's not metal or a white filling, but the enamel that I do have, seemed to be a little whiter. We will see what else happens.

HI Lisa, I tried it for the first time today as well, also twice for 20 mins each time. I used VCO which was nice, I like the taste. I also noticed that my teeth were whiter after the first time and I had a sore throat for a short time after. However I'm going to stop as I want to start the humaworm cleanse tomorrow and want to know what treatment is having what effect. I will start the oil pulling again after the humaworm. Please do let us know your experience with the oil pulling as you go along!

be careful, dont do what i did. i went a bit over the top with it, 40 mins 3x a day. it worked really well for my receeding gums but my jaw joints took the burden now im in pain alot of the time and oil pulling is no longer part of my regime, oh well ! It was great while it lasted, i just use mouthwash about 6 times a day.

Well I'm thinking of trying the whole Oil Pulling thing again perhaps on the weekend. I did get a sore jaw after trying it only twice before, so I'm going to try and go more gently and perhaps for less time. I was reading the curezone forum and came across a thread where people are talking about all the improvements they have seen from oil pulling. I thought others might be interested it's seems pretty miraculous actually in what can be helped doing the OP! http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=911141#i

I read the link for the oil pulling forum on curezone and was quite impressed with all of the testimonials. I had come across oil pulling before but only in relation to infection in the gums and so I did not pay much attention. I did not realize that it had other detoxing benefits. So I tried it starting the day before yesterday. Yesterday a little piece of my tooth came off or I think a piece of white filling? I had a lot of gum resection when I had my amalgams in and one of my upper incisors became very sensitive. I remember the dentist had put a small white filling up near the gums on this tooth. So maybe it was the filling - it feels a bit chipped at the top (or maybe this is how it feels when your gum resects so much that it exposes the upper part of the tooth?) I have no idea - but a little something came off. It was pretty tiny and I don't have much sensitivity as my gums have filled in a bit since amalgam removal. I will have my dentist check it in a few weeks when I go to get my final crown.
But now for the good news. My gums look great (perhaps I could have avoided that root canal long ago). Every single time I do it, my sinuses drain immediately afterwords. One time I had to stop because my sinuses started draining right away into the back of my throat so I had to spit, rinse and start again. My skin does feel softer, even my dry heels (but I will wait to judge that improvement because I was at the beach today and maybe I just had a little sand exfoliation. Most importanly I had read that it is a blood cleanser. Well I have a blood disorder which appears to be reverting back to normal since amalgam removal. One of the symptoms of it was that my veins were swollen all the time. Since detoxing mercury, my veins only swell up now and again during the day and my platelets were almost back in range again. Well yesterday for the first time since I don't when (before my illness), my veins did not swell at all. I am certain that my blood disorder is due to the mercury or perhaps candida toxins in my blood or bone marrow. Perhaps it does clean the toxins from the blood. I don't know yet. I will report back if I continue to notice a lack of swelling of the veins. That would make it worth the chip in the tooth.

HI KCB, I was hoping by posting that link others might give it a go too That's great!! I hope the improvements continue for you. Last night I read on another forum that OP can cause metal fillings to become loose (including amalgam) because the oil can bind to the metal and loosen it? I'm not sure how true that is. Some people with amalgams in experience a metallic taste during OP. I've got to say reading that made me a little bit hesitant to try but then I read of others with amalgams in who have not had those things happen. I only did it for 5 mins yesterday and the day before - I'm starting slow due to the saw jaw I got last time. So far my jaw is OK. I also got a mild sinus drain thing, not much else so far but that may change as I increase the frequency and length. My veins swell as well and i have raynauds so it would be nice to improve that - i think its thyroid related though for me.
I hope your good results continue!!
Cheers, Cara

I'm Kara too with a K. (I was actually named Cara, but the strict Irish priest wouldn't baptize me saying that I needed a name derived from a saint - so my parents changed the spelling. I thought at one time I had Reynauds - twice one of my fingers turned blue - but my platelets were very high so apparently that was the cause. I hope my new fillings don't come loose. They are in my molars so I think they are set better than one on the front top of a tooth. Thanks for the link - the testimonials are very interesting.
