Ummmmmmmmmm……
I’m eating some right now as I type this…..
Ummmmmmmmmm…..it’s seriously good stuff
Its not addictive like normal chocolate either. With normal chocolate its real difficult not to eat loads and loads. This stuff one square seems to be enough. I get no symptoms from it except satisfaction that I cheated and it did not hurt me.
Ummmmmmmmmmmmm
It does not have any normal sugar in it. It has agave nectar.
It have tried them all…..ummmmmm…But the best seems to be “Intacta” which is made from : Cacao butter, almonds, mesquite powder, maca powder, agave nectar, vanilla bean seeds, Himalayan pink salt.
All ingredients are raw and free from chemicals, organic… blah blah blah
Its not heated to high temperatures either which is supposed to be good too.
Seriously it you are gonna cheat…….may as well cheat with style…..

Heh, I probably shouldn't even be asking about this. Whether it's agave nectar or table sugar, it'a all sugar to my insulin-resistant body. But I'm curious just the same. I've seen products like this sold on American websites but couldn't find any that sold them here in the UK. Found one have you? Or have you scouted the product out in your cosmopolitan city down south?

OK, this is from a website that sells maca powder, so they are bound to talk it up…but you get the gist…..it worked wonders for me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Maca is a root from Peru and is known as Peruvian ginseng, Brazilian ginseng or Amazon ginseng, but isn't related to ginseng at all. What's so special about maca? It is so full of wonderful nutrition, that once you start eating it, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner! Maca contains high amounts of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and all the essential amino acids. In fact, it has about 10% bioavailable calcium and about 12-14% bioavailable protein. It contains nearly 60 phytochemicals. It's an adaptogen so it "adapts" to your body's metabolism, working with your body on to repairs. This little unsuspecting root can help you achieve your optimal level of health and energy. Athletes use maca to boost energy, stamina and performance, instead of resorting to dangerous steroids. Men use maca to increase erectile tissue response -- it's even being called Nature's Viagra by many! You can use maca to elevate your mood and improve mental ability and concentration Beautify yourself naturally with maca! It increases blood circulation in your skin, giving it a youthful appearance. The natural sterols in Maca help build muscle especially when you exercise. Maca makes you feel well nourished. Maca can lift you out of depression. Maca enlivens sexual function in both genders. Maca can help regulate women's hormonal irregularities. Maca will help you overcome fatigue. Maca will help stimulate your immune system. Maca can remineralise you. If you think you need remineralising, then maca will help you do this naturally. The vast majority of people today eat food that is lower in minerals than our wild foods of yesteryear. This makes us susceptible to disease amongst other things. Maca's high-mineral content can help you become stronger very quickly. Maca rebalances your hormones Maca doesn't contain hormones, but it naturally stimulates the pituitary into producing the precursor hormones which ultimately end up raising oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone levels. It also helps to balance the adrenal glands, the thyroid and the pancreas. It's claimed by doctors that maca "regulates" the ovarian function. It's also effective for women who have undergone complete hysterectomies. One patient who had a very low serum oestradiol level of 15 increased it to 75 after just two months on maca. Over 60 is an adequate postmenopausal level. Using maca when menopausal can help the adrenals produce enough hormones to avoid symptoms! It seems to help the endocrine system to stay in balance. http://www.detoxtrading.co.uk/product_info.htm#macathis site is much cheaper than when i get mine, but i have not used this company...i just googled it now.

Raw Wildcrafted Mesquite Powder — Mesquite Pod Meal This delectable mesquite powder product is used exactly as you would carob powder. Mesquite has a richer taste and aroma than carob and tastes and smells just like chocolate. Our mesquite powder/meal is a raw food product that is chock-full of nutrients and absolutely essential for the raw cuisine kitchen, lending its unique flavor to any dish, especially the sweet ones. Highly recommended.
Milled from the bean and pod of the mesquite plant at very low temperature, our wild & raw mesquite is a high quality source of soluble fiber, Omega-3 fatty acids (part of essential amino acids that our body needs but can't produce on its own), and digestible protein. Can be used as replacement for a portion of your nut flour, or as a substitution for carob. Tasty in nut milks, raw cakes, breads, ice creams. Delicious sprinkled on chopped fruit as you would ground flax seeds. The list goes on and on. We're sure you'll have a lot of fun experimenting with this unique offering.
Mesquite grows throughout the semi-arid regions of the world which make up 25% of the earth's land mass. With more than 40 species, mesquite is a versatile plant and very similar to the hemp plant in many ways. For starters, mesquite is used to prevent soil erosion and to replenish soil nitrogen, which is essential to the building and rebuilding of arable soil.
Mesquite preserves the intrinsic values of forest ecosystems belting sensitive tropical zones. Harvesting mesquite bean pods for food promotes economic health for communities in desert regions and promotes conservation of natural resources. Products from mesquite trees have been used for thousands of years as food, building materials, and fuel.
Sadly, countries throughout the arid regions around the world are following the Unites States' example of cutting down indigenous trees and clearing land for cattle pasture. For more than fifty years, tens of thousands of acres of mesquite have been and still are being bulldozed to the ground then burned and chemically defoliated.
By supporting mesquite as an important everyday food source, we not only help to put a stop to deforestation, we also provide our bodies with a nourishing food that is raw, wholesome, and above all, tasty. The gifts of the mesquite plant, like the gifts of the hemp plant, are seemingly limitless and varied and serve to remind us that life in all its simplicity and sustainability is truly worth living for.

I've come across this site before actually. It all sounds lovely, but do you really think £4.45 for a 65g bar of chocolate is worth it? Must be coated in gold or something.

They might really be lovely foods. But I think they are giving the health and nutrition sector a bad name with slick advertising and prices like these. Companies need to be working on how to get more nutritious foods, more cheaply, to the people who need them.
For example, I can't find a chewable vitamin C for my daughter that doesn't contain something horrible. i just discovered that what she's been having for the past couple of years contains aspartame. The others have this, or saccharine, or they are essentially sugar pills with sucrose or fructose as the first ingredients. I'm pretty disgusted. Fortunately she's old enough to be willing to swallow my own tablets if I cut them in half.

OK, I'm interested. When I'm feeling better and the sugar cravings lessen for me, I might look into this and try doing what you are doing. At the moment I get awful spells of cravings and end up eating all kinds of things. I'd probably get through a fortune in this gourmet stuff LOL. Fatty chocolate stuff is always what I crave. I wish I could see Dr. Peatfield this weekend and maybe get some answers from him because this is just hard. When I'm at work I'm keeping busy; now that I'm sat at home I just think about how crappy I feel. I'll deserve a pat on the back tonight if I've managed to fight the cravings off til then.

He's going to know so many of us from this forum LOL. "Oh yes, another Herb Allure Mercury Chelator. I know about you folks." Just as well, he'll be familiar with our symptoms <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Do post the link, the choc sounds nice.
I've had occasions in my life when I haven't craved sugar. Often in the summer, when I stick to Paleo and the SAD isn't troubling me, I don't crave sugar at all. In the middle of the winter it's almost non-stop. It doesn't matter how clean my diet is. Often I don't even eat fruit, and zero grains. This is something else the good doctor will maybe be able to help me with. It just seems part and parcel of the other host of symptoms.
Mmmm, chocolate. Must stop thinking about it, LOL. I've had a lovely day and I should be really feeling happy, but I'm yucked out and craving sugar. Damn mercury.

Yup, that is the only disappointing thing about the chocolate……£4.45 for that! It is a small, but you don’t need as much as a normal bar. As Mati said, you only need 1 square at a time. It does not give you the normal sugar rush that you get from a normal chocolate bar, so you don’t have to finish the bar. One bar lasts me four sittings too. Mati: with all your ingredients you should try these cookies! http://herballure.com/ubbthreads/sh...&sb=5&o=&fpart=1I eat them everyday. Infact I just run out, so I will make them Saturday morning. I soak all the dry ingredients for at least 24 hours. Sunflower named them “Cocomacpump Cookies” <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I've got some. I mix it in apple juice to keep it from going brown. She says it's too tangy LOL. I think I can get her used to swallowing my pills if they are cut up. It's just that she's much more keen when she can chew them and they taste yummy. I thought someone might make them with xylitol or something rather more harmless than what they seem to put in these chewables. They're all chock full of artifical flavours and sweeteners.
