I saw the infamous Dr Peatfield today at Birtley Co. Durham. I want him to tell me if I am fit enough for chelation, though I know that I will not be up to it for a while. He thinks maybe it will take till the end of this year, that is, if I do decide to do it. I may get my molar extracted and leave just one small filling, on the side of a lower incisor, and just live with it doing all I can to get me into a detoxing state and improve the adrenals and thyroid. Time will tell. I was wondering if there is a sealant that can be applied on top of the filling?

I will probably go ahead with getting it out if everything goes well and my thyroid improves significantly. He says I am definitely hypothyroid and have had adrenal fatigue all of my life, since I was poisoned at 6 months with teething powders. He has met another woman who had this.

Instead of testing the adrenal function, we have decided to go straight onto adrenal gland support starting at one tablet then building up. The after four weeks or so, I may have a test as well as a candida one and then the thyroid urine test.

He said I was a special case with everything that has happened to me and he says i have to take great care of myself. If I do not decide to get the last amalgam out, he says that we can improve things a lot from what I am now which is starting to heal from an 8 month relapse caused no doubt through my trip to Germany and perhaps pesticide spray in the cabin since adopting the candida diet. It feels good to have support and someone to ring if there are any problems with the treatment schedule.

He says go onto Q10 so I am ordering that too.

I will report on my progress.

Oh yeah, the thyroid test. Great fun if you're a gal. I'll be glad when that one's over, it takes 24 hours of gathering your wee.

Thanks Linda. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Not sure what happened as I had been there four months earlier and I was ok. It might have been stress and exhaustion as I had travelled down from Berlin to Frankfurt by bus (8 hours) then met my friends who took me to a conference then we had to get the train home so i was really whacked. There again it may have been pesticide spray on the aeroplane. I wear a mask but maybe I got a dose. I have also had some family upsets last year. It looks like my adrenals just got completely shot and candida took over. It looks like I will have to give that up for a year at least. i was hoping to go this summer as I have a few friends I can stay with and I love it there. It is great to have the doctor though. It is the first time in my life that anyone has recognised how sick i am and not thought of as a hypochondriac. I feel very relieved and cared for this evening.

I got my adrenal support a few days ago and start on one tablet a day which will build up to 4. That night however, I felt to stimulated to sleep much so I dropped down to half one tablet. I slept a bit better but still there is some feeling of wakefulness. Third day and a half again to see how it goes then I will drop to a quarter and get in touch with doctor. I may be imagining it but I feel a little better already. Yesterday I fell in the street and hit my head and was shaken but today I feel ok. Normally I would not recover so quickly.

Glad you're OK, that fall sounds frightening.

Adrenal supplements can often have a very quick effect. I felt a little better with my very first dose of liquorice extract. I know what you mean about the overstimulation; I'm on a glandular supplement and when I tried to increase the dose, I had a pretty difficult day. I guess it's all part of the process of listening to our bodies.

Thanks Linda I hope so. I do feel a little less 'heavy' so hopefully it is working already. It will be great if so and the first real help for all of my life. My temperature was up slightly this morning. It is often 35.1C which Dr Peatfield says is way too low.

Research and study this past week has led me to the conclusion that i might have Lyme's Disease - plus a nutritionist I was talking to suggested it.

I am in shock but not surprised.

It is hard to find a doctor in the UK who understand it, so I may not get that sort of help but I might get one of the few who do to refer me to the lab in the US who will run blood tests.

The diet suggested for Lyme's is funnily enough the one I am on now.

The treatment is normally anti-biotics but they have made me very ill in the past so i stopped using them.

It is a good job I found this out before I started on ACE etc as with Lyme's you must not take a steroid. I did use a topical one a few years ago and remember it made me ill.

Getting the amalgams out is part of treatment but I will go ahead only if I am sure that my adrenals can take it, and until then I can only use things such as liquorice to build them up but if my thyroid is really down, then I am not sure what to do. Time will tell.
