I have had now about the worst 5 nights in a row I've ever had. The most annoying thing is I can't put my finger on why, it's suddenly got as bad as this again. The only two things I can think of is still the medication withdrawal, although I've now been off them for about 6 weeks. The only other things are, the last few days I've been painting the hallway and I also have hayfever, which apparently has started a lot earlier for most people this year. I have always ached with hayfever, but I feel so stiff and achey, It's mega painful My night sweats have also returned, insommnia and just basically feel very ill. I can't think of anything else I've done differently. The daytime dosen't seem so bad, although I've woken up this morning covered in an itchy rash and head pain and the usual aching. I am so tired. I'm so sorry, sweetie. Maybe a combination of the hay fever and paint? I have hay fever too, and always have. Not bothering me quite yet, but it will be. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I hope the night sweats and itchy rash don't come back for me. Haven't had those in awhile. No, take that back, I do have a little rash on my tummy and it itches BAD, and I can't get it to go away. I'm sorry I can't help you, but I can sure sympathize. {{{hugs}}}

What sort of paint did you use? If it is ordinary paint with chemicals then I would say that this is the reason for your reaction.

If this is the case, then the thing to do is to open all your windows to ventilate the place, then turn your heating right up and leave it for a few days, opening the windows on your return, or better yet, getting someone else to do this.

You can take VitC and bicarb to neutralise the effect immediately.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rough.I have not been on here as much as before but I am amazed at the difference in your posts.I was wondering if it was the same Tracy as before!
You may not realise but it seems by your posts that you have had some improvements(well deserved too)
before your posts were short and you sounded like you were
giving up hope at times.(I hope you don't mind me writing this)

As for what you are going through, sounds like all the reasons you suggest could be effecting you the medication withdrawel,the hayfever and the paint.
I hope you are over the worst of it.
Someone suggested to me for protection against allergies/pollutants/hayfever to take a combination of
Vitamin B5 around 500mg a day),vitamin C (to bowel tolerance)and paracetamol.
I took it all (except the paracetamol)and I think it helped,however hard to know as I'm taking so many remedies and supplements! aagghh

The paracetamol was for anti inflamatory purposes so instead I use tumeric and ginger in my food,like in salads and soups.
These are naturally anti inflamatory.
Try and avoid using regular paint,you know it's full of awful toxic stuff such as mercury ,lead?the fumes are hurtful even after it has dried.
There are lovely natural paints,I used one called "Auro"
I think it's from UK.

Dear Sunflower, I must say I am still feeling pretty rough, but it's weird I just seem to have drawn on some strength I didn't know I had and I think before I really wanted a 'quick fix' and this all to be over. Now I seem to just accept the symptoms more and know it's probably going to take a long time, so you just have to get on with things the best you can. When I was ill before, I use to use the more natural paints, so should have done again. There are multiple allergies in many members of my family and I think this plays a big contribution. I don't think I'm feeling much better, just thinking about things in a different way and using different coping techniques. Tracy,i cant use ordinary paint at all, get real bad symptoms for weeks,like sneezing, asthma, chest tightness, sore throat,sinus pain, even nose bleeds. i use this paint. www.ecospaints.com

I work with paints every day ,one kind or another , the good news is mercury was banned in all paints in 1992 , but the bad news is there are still many chemicals in both latex and oil base paints , and if you read the cautions on all paint cans , they say to avoid exposure of skin and vapors for prolonged periods , but the night sweats are your body tryng very hard to remove toxins of one kind or another

Thanks guys, yes I wndered about that Mikey. It's just weird I use to get them really bad and then they stopped for agrs and I was sleeping better now they're back with avengence. I tfeels exactly like having a very serious bout of flu. Love Tracy xx Dawn are those paints very expensive?

You can make your own! There is a book called The Natural Paint Decorator published by Kyle Cathie which has a recipe with quark

9oz quark
2 tbsp natural pigment from art supply shop


this will cover 4 square metres.

Mix pigment with water to make a smooth running paste, adding a little vodka if it does not mix easily, and leave overnight. Add quark stir then add water and add quickly to walls. It needs to dry quickly.

Tracy, it's great that you are trying new things,me too,I feel I am healing and it's because I've shifted my thoughts.

Tracy, Yeh, they are a bit more expensive for example 5 ltrs white emulsion cost me £37.00, thats with £8.00 postage.
Its good paint, goes on very smoothly,i just ordered some more this week, they do next day delivery.
