i get occasional hypoglycemia and found eating something protein every few hrs cures the problem. im not sure if food cravings are part of it, i have cravings but ive mastered how to cook the things i crave for from scratch with sweeteners and not sugar. If i fancy a macdonalds i just remnd myself that the reason it smells so good is because its full of crap, like MSG. i have given in and eaten things like birthday cake, etc in the past but not many times, im qiuite strong willed when it comes to diet, i dont want to feel any worse than i do. i dont have to worry about chocolate cravings, it takes me only a few minutes to make my own raw chocolate.

Put a bit of carob powder in if you like vanilla. melt he cacoa butter and mix all ingredients together,i put in ice cube trays to set in fridge, you can substitute cacoa butter with coconut oil or use half an half. dawn

Tracy, I have had the same thing. I guess it is hypoglycemia, or something. I used to get up too and drink large glasses of milk and coudln't stop going back for more. Always at night! Plus I'd get cravings to eat at odd hours as well.
I believe it's candida and mercury that does this. Sugar is not the answer, it can cause these things to occur. You may feel better when you get a fix, but then worse in the long run. I only controlled it by controlling the candida and detoxing the mercury. Otherwise it would never stop. A neverending cycle of bizzare cravings and unstable blood sugar.
Milk has lactose and will feed yeast as well and apparently milk interfers with detoxing mercury. Wheat is treated wtih mercury fungicide apparently (whcih might explain why I would get immediate poisoning symptoms after eating it, though that could have been gluten too). And sugar lowers immunity and messes up so many things inside the body, that I believe these three, plus yeast itself should be completely avoided.
It depends on what you're willing to give up diet wise to gain any ease of symptoms, as so often foods we crave are the yeast calling out to be fed! And giving into it in anyway shape or form is usually pretty disastrous. It hurts to have them die off, and cravings increase during that time often, but it's necessary if one wants to control the symptoms they keep causing. Of course whatever is at the bottom of all this is obviously allowing these things to happen in the first place. But until that is remedied, most of us need to battle yeast long term.
I know you've heard all this before, but just letting you know that your symptoms have been experienced by me many times and still do. My yeast has also been worse since walking into a dental office and being re-exposed to mercury vapor. They seem to go hand in hand.

Thought you might mention them Sunshine. They are £££ but I may end up buying something from there at some point.
At the moment if I made this recipe I'd probably scoff the lot in a day. But I will save it for myself and my daughter, when the food cravings have died down.
Thanks for the info Dawn. What sorts of proportions do you use these ingredients in -- or do you just combine them as you like? What kind of flavouring do you use, apart from vanilla? Do you always grind the nuts or can you put them in whole?

Sounds great! I'll treat myself to something from that site sometime.
I'm having horrendous cravings right now. I'd just eat that batch and then, craving more, I'd probably rampage through the local chocolate shop.
I keep telling myself I'm at war with candida and I ain't gonna let the buggers win LOL.

Hi Linda, i dont measure anything,i crush the nuts because i like it that way but you could have them whole. i have used lemon flavouring which was great. its much cheaper to make your own, once you have the ingredients it lasts ages.i was buying ready made stuff but one bar is between £3 and £4 could be more, and they are tiny. i also found some of them just werent sweet enough for my taste buds, when i eat chocolate its really got to be sweet, when i make my own i make it sweet. once you try he agave nectare you'l never need sugar, though it is more expensive,i have also used xylitol which is just as good in my view. Does anyone know if raw chocolate has alot or any caffeine in it? Cheers Dawn.

Thanks Dawn. This sounds lovely. Lots of cocoa butter, that's what I'd have.
The caffeine is one concern though. As far as I know, chocolate naturally contains it. I actually can feel the hit when I have dark chocolate which is probably why my cravings are always for milk or white chocolate.

The nightwaking and having a hard time getting going in the mornings sounds adrenal. Hypoglycemia goes hand in hand with adrenal fatigue and often hits in the middle of the night. For me, it causes headaches sometimes, but usually restless leg and jitteriness is how it shows itself. Hg poisoning can really drain the adrenals. Cortisol should be at it's highest in the morning causing you to wake up. When the adrenals are fatigued, it isn't and you may have difficulty in waking. That's why many people with adrenal fatigue use coffee, sugar, and caffeine to get them going in the mornings. Check this out: http://www.drrind.com/scorecardmatrix.aspShonda
