Hi all...
I was reading "Huggins Applied Healing Protocol for Amalgam removal and Dental Revision"
In the Protocol it says:
"Replace silver-mercury amalgam fillings with "white fillings", otherwise known as composites, that contain high amounts of aluminum, and bingo - you just created a potential neurological disease". (I'd read that flouride was made from aluminum by products, fertilizers, and all kinds of residue)
I also looked at the Animal Topic/ Fluoride Kills Horses **YouTube Video** I'm a little worried now about my composite fillings.
I'd read this online about a type of Composite filling and wonder how much aluminum-fluoride are in the Composite and if it is dangerous.
"The composite filling is composed of a polymer resin and the filler is an aluminum-fluoride-silica powder".
My dentist told me my Composites were made from Glass and Polymers...
Should I be worried?

Very few dentists actually use the glass ionomers anymore. Unless you have a nice thoughtful biological dentist I suppose, some of them still use it out of courtesy. they used to all use it then they changed over to heavy duty methacrylate/epoxy type composite because those stick better to the dentin in your tooth.
which is eaxctly why I have so much difficulty finding a dentist these days I was fine a dozen years ago when glass ionomer was the main deal. I have real issues with anything tha resembles epoxy.
and the flouride deal with the new composites yeah.. so I will have my old molars extracted. I am almost 50 though Bann, my teeth have seen their better days. I have no idea what I would do if I were younger, only use a dentist who still uses the old stuff I guess, hard to find though. Very hard to find I have thus far been unsuccessful in it.

I just ask my dentist about the materials used for my recent amalgam replacement.
She said she used these materials.
LAVA crown made of zirconia and porcelain. For the fillings, we used One-step bonding agent and Herculite composite.
Does anyone know anything about these materials?
Thanks so much!

You have a real good dentist Bann, lucky you. Don't go anywhere else. That is a real good combo of materials you should be happy with for years to come. Dentists that research material are few and far between from my experience and I'd say, your dentist has done that.
Herculite is a glass ionomer if memory serves me well and a one step bonding agent should not contain much epoxy-type resins, those are generally the 2 part bonding agents.
That is pretty much the combo I was searching for around here last year and couldn't find. Around here they mostly use the cheapest fastest whatever they can and charge you top buck like you just visited the Ritz-Carlton. It's a big problem.

Sosick, I thank you for your reply... I've been worried this weekend about my choices in dental replacement material... What a relief to hear there isn't much epoxy resins with the one step bonding agent... I'm so glad to hear that...... While I was doing some of my research trying to figure things out for myself I came across something that relates to my husband and wanted to ask another question about Dentures making your blood pressure go up. Do you know anything about that? Here's the link...go down to dentures.. http://www.consumerhealth.org/articles/display.cfm?ID=19990303204231

Well i really don't know that much about dentures... cadmium is rather poisonous but I know nothing about alink top high blood pressure. My cadmium was rather high when they tested me, my blood pressure was not. I'd say that is a combo facter... my guess there, some other stress factor adding in.
The bis-gma in the newer composite and epoxy/type materials is a big problem too. the bis-gma plastics are the ones they are taking off the shelf if found in baby bottles. Very unhealthy stuff. I don't think the herculite contains that or much of it if does. But I am not positive, who knows these days. The old glass ionomers have never bothered me.
