Hey everyone. its been a long time since i have visited these boards! how is everyone going?
Im currently back home in Australia and just got covered with MBF! so hopefully i can find a dentist that is good at amalgam removal in brisbane(have over 18 to fix). MBF is benefits where i get 80% money back and im hoping their is dentists that have this that do safe amalgam removal.
Is their anyone who is very good that you could recommend. I have a serious fear of someone not doing a good job as in drilling amalgam and causing more problems in the long run due to high exposure. and how will i know that they get all the amalgam out when they replace it with other fillings? i have this fear too. its so silly but i want the job done good etc.

Hi Joe, I'm in Australia too but I'm going with a dentist in Sydney. One page that has some links is: http://www.growyouthful.com/toc11dentists.phpEric Davis has an extensive program and I've been in contact with a few people who have had a good experience with him. However someone on here (can't remember who) did not have the easiest time getting information on what sort of replacement materials he uses. Also is program is likely very expensive. Here is his website: http://www.ericdavisdental.com/Before contacting any dentists I would suggest doing a bit of research and understanding what constitutes safe removal and just having an idea of all the steps that a dentist should follow. That way you are better able to ask questions and make an informed decision. Here is an example of a dentist that covers what is considered 'safe' removal of fillings and takes into account the 7 day cycle of the immune cycle and other protocols as recommended by Hal Huggins http://www.robertgammal.com/AmalgamDocs/AmalRemProtocols.html This is the dentist I will be seeing. I would also suggest reading Andrew Culters 'Amalgam Illness' and reading through that. The main thing is to make sure you are well informed and do not rush into getting your fillings replaced! I'm sure others on here can help you more as I'm yet to have mine replaced. Regards, Cara

Hi Cara, that someone was me. I found him vague regarding any information I was asking regarding what dental materials he used and no matter what I said, he evaded answering. It was the strangest and most frustrating thing. Odd, considering other dentists don't seem to all mind doing it....what's the issue? I kept saying "Could you please let me know which dental materials you use in your office? the names of them?" and he said that he would just test me on them when I arrived. I said "since I am overseas, I would like to know from where I am, which ones you already have there, so I can check them on my serum test form" and I was evaded again and I said "You can retest me when I am there, could you just let me know of the ones you have already?" I got no answer. I felt then that if he could'nt even answer that, I would not go any further. I felt there was much "finance" involved too. For diet/lifestyle plans, supplements etc etc/consults with the person dealing with one aspect and that doesn't even count the dentistry. Might have been great for someone with a good income, but not for most of us. And also, I felt there is something not right when they cannot even provide such basic answers as the types of dental materials they have (the names). Instead, I found another dentist in Sydney whom I corresponded with, who is well studied in oral toxicology, shares all the dental materials he uses, (bonding agents/lining agents included) and even sent samples to me from overseas. Didn't fail to answer question across email, helpful and to the point. Seemed to understand biologic dentistry to an impresive degree. All protection seemed to be part of his plan and the implantation of biologic dental materials (biocompatible). He has found in his experience that some are better than others with most people and he tends to use them for most people (unless they request otherwise and he can get hold of what they want). I felt more comfortable with him personally. He was also into the diet side of it, but didn't seem to be any financial tie to that at all. Rather set out a plan for the patient, or even send it, or at least give them the idea. I was impressed with his website and his emails. Here it is: http://www.shdc.com.au/

thanks for your replies. I guess i could go to Sydney! do you know if anyone will accept MBF Medical benefits? I was looking into eric davis but he seems to go so far with hair tests and blood tests and looks expensive. not too mention he didnt answer your email. Thanks for the link to the other dentist. I only have one chance at getting them removed safely and want the best ! How are you Bex? its been a long time since i spoke to you? are you still doing the candida diet?

Hi Bex, I thought it was you but didn't want to wrongly attribute if I was wrong The other Sydney doctor sounds really good too. I think I will stick with Robert Gammal otherwise I will not make a decision! I like that fact that he has trained with Huggins, that he follows the Huggins precauctions for safe removal and that he became disillusioned with mainstream dentistry when he started as a dentist which led him to search for alternatives. I will definitely share my experiences when I meet with him. I have my first appointment (just for consultation) in less than a month woo hoo!

Hi Joe, Well your choice has just been made easier. I got a call a couple of days ago to inform me that Robert Gammal has retired I feel gutted, it took me so long to decide on him and I had felt really happy with his experience and outlook. He answered all my emails quickly and was always polite and informative. My appointment was only 3 weeks away!! So now I begin the search again. Bex I was wondering which dentist you were referring to at this practice: http://www.shdc.com.au ? Cheers, Cara

Hi Cara,
From recall only, I think it was Dr Ron Ehrich... that name rings a bell out of all of them. He was very helpful, highly trained in biologic dentistry and oral toxicology and has pretty much full mercury protection and even dietry recommendations are included as far as i know, similar to hal huggins. plenty of animals protein, fats, and healthy foods with excluding sugars, wheat/gluten etc (from memory).
He sent me over samples of dental materials as well when i requested them (even the bond and lining agents), All labelled.
Email contact with him was always informative and helpful. I didn't end up going because i found someone in my own country in the end, but otherwise, i would recommend him based on my contact with him, but i cannot tell you how he would be as a dentist regarding the actual work.
I hope this helps.

I went to this one in Brisbane... http://www.holisticdentistry.com.au/He was helpful and gave me answers etc. The protocol was followed and I was referred to a naturapath before he began removing them. I found the removal itself was done quickly and efficiently.
