I understand Jinx. I keep hoping the ALA will bring you out of this - but you're likely suffering from more than one issue here. I know for me when it was mercury - things very very bad when I was very poisoned, but nothing to what they became later after infections/viral etc. When it was a combination of factors - The nightmare changed into something even worse - regardless of efforts.

It depends what you're dealing with and how severe it is and how many other factors on top of it.

I can relate. Not that it's much comfort I know. Yes it is hell on earth for those who are suffering more intensely perhaps than others or don't have quite the intensity/torment of it. Hard to tell because mercury and other illnesses can affect people differently, in different areas and vary in intensity.

actually 2 or 3 days ago i finished a round of ala - and it was again only 24h because couldnt take it further, not to mention mercury redistibuton to the brain because of unexpected enetero-hepatic recruclation. and does it do somethig? hell ya, things are chening i can feel it. YES, YES YES, AND AGAIN YES. and my experience supports that, i feel my body chemistry SLOWWWWLYY coming back to normal after ala chelation (recently one full 3 day round during chrsitamas, and two faield attemts since new year, like1 day or less - yet even those bring a difference).

Chelation maybe the key, but no this does not stop the hell and unfortunately other factors you're suffering simply add to it and complicate chelation too (yeast being one).

Jinx, I just tried to say that this hell on earth will become less hellish if you chelate mercury out. No irony here.

Now after 31 rounds of ALA and 10 rounds DMSA only my candida seems to be ALMOST GONE.
(i would say 90% of my yeast is gone) In the past days i had zero candida symptoms. Interestly the feeling of impending doom and hopelessness is also so much better.

btw: Try to avoid 1 day rounds if possible a few are OK but if you do this too often it can cause new problems.

1. like i said it's hell on earth DESPITE ALA chelation and BECAUSE - which maybe i should have added it - it makes you very UNABLE TO chelate.
2. you cannot avoid the unavoidable! when u start chelation ITS WITH INTENT of a full 3 day round - u dont wanna get much redistribution. But , hey, there u go, and the little creepy bi*tchy illness steps in with its sicky-funny-bunny sens eof humour and wham! u GOTTA end the round PRIOR.

the redistribution? i got this bowel - screwed up gut (ha!it rhymes!) - problem that i dont empty myself on my own, laxatives dont work and if i use extra magnesium and vitamin c my bwoels just get full with water NAD THATS IT - no diarheea to notinh, BUT the water manages to dillute all the toxins and it often goes to my sigmoid colon where the hepatic vain is (coffe enemas any?) - and since by bowels are on vacation and it doesn come out on its own, it just sits there and gives me toxic retention enema:):) - which aises blood levels of emrcury with ala around etc etc nice eh? ususally happens during the night when im asleep and i wke up with my brain numbed.

Sounds a reasonable dose Jinx - though some may say too high, if you can handle the dose (mercury wise) then stick with it. The problem lies in your gut/bowels that is the issue here and what I am experiencing also.

A dentist here told me that the gut is paramount to detox and with dybiosis etc, there is a big issue with the body eliminating any toxins you have chelated. He warned about this in regards to backfire/redistribution, since the gut is in no condition to deal with chelation or the toxins that are being moved through. This is why he refused to detox a mercury toxic person, unless they were pre-prepped first and he would treat their yeast. Only then, when they responded to treatment and the gut was in better condition - he would start them on a detox plan.

And this is my problem and Jinx's. With mercury many people do have yeast and do have some gut issues. Which is quite normal considering, but again it depends how severe and what else maybe going on. However, for more severe/complicated conditions that affect the gut/immunity far worse, the person may suffer with problems in responding to detox/chelation.

In Jinx's case, it's a many edged sword! As in mine.

Uncontrollable laughing spells. I believe I've had this most of my life and mercury I think has been a part of it, because this tendency would sometimes increase during detox.

I remember trying to lie outside and get some sun, but I was laughing so hard that I had to get up and come inside. It just looked insane. I was lying on the ground shaking and in the end, I gave up trying to rest.

I've been accused of drug taking in the past also because of this type of behaviour and extreme silliness and inappropriate laughter. It's funny, but sometimes it was distressing too. I really did feel I was on something and it still occurs occassionally. I just have to leave the room, or I just look like i'm nuts.

It's probably the extra sulfur magnifying it Same thing used to happen to me. Eggs were another one. Give me a meal of high sulfur foods and either I'd get depressed and weepy and/or uncontrollable laughing. Killing off yeast used to cause the same, though it maybe because it mobilised more mercury too and yeast toxins perhaps (alcohols?). I used to go crazy stupid with untifungal use.

I don't get that now so much - depends.

yeast/suplhry-moblised mercury/mercury in the brain - i think a combination of the three causes those things bex. i didnt have this before that brain redistributon and andy says bipolar/mania is mercury in the hypothalamus.

Yeah it does feel like mania or something - it's interesting that I get it with candida or candida die off too. So certainly it's mobilising of toxins and maybe yeast alcohols that affect the brain. "Mad as a hatter" is so often applicable - very mercurial kind of moods.

Who knows what might be in there Jinx (the pic) - Sunshine had some really interesting things occur with cleansing/enemas. I don't like them personally and have tried it before, but don't wish to try it again.

As long as you find they help and are necessary. How often do you do them? And have you tried not doing them and what happens when/if you do?

yeha they help me like now, things eem to have settled a bit, what happens if i dont use them? i get constipation since i cant go on my own, and i get toxic, and feel canddia growing in me.

What you describe could be caused by sulfur. Eating lots of sulfur caused me to experience euphoria, feeling energetic for a few hours followed by a terrible crash.

I don't think it's candida, this would make me feel depressed anxious confused etc.

I am not sure but i read somewhere in the chelation group that coffee enemas are high sulfur and should not be used in hg toxic people. I am not 100% sure you have to look this up yourself.

yeah i know abotu coffe enemas i dont do them. and i think the problem with cofe enemas is ot really the sulhpur content but the afct it acts like aminiflush and stirs up lots of toxins, hg included.

Jinx, have you tried drinking licorice root tea? Licorice root is a great detoxifier. It is also a very mild laxative, stimulates the adrenals, boosts mood, and helps fight candida. It also has other beneficial effects. A cup or two a day of licorice root tea might really help you.

Could well be candida Jinx - when you consider yeast alcohols and other toxins that may act as a stimulant to the nervous system etc.

I didn't do enemas really. I did a few I think, but don't recall much about them, nor did I experience any real help. So I can't tell you want came out to be honest, so long ago now. I don't have too many issues with constipation etc, but do occassionally.

I'd be wary of doing enemas too much, as I feel it might cause problems in the long run. I have not always heard great things about them. I would say emergency yes, but not something I"d make a habit of getting into. But then if you've tried other means to make yourself more regular without success and the situation is really that desperate, then who am I to know?

I know the body requires raw materials too sometimes to act like a broom and get things going. To do too much for the body in that respect, without allowing things to function naturally I am sure may create more problems later on. Over flushing etc.

Jinx, are you taking probiotics, or eating plenty of sugar free yogurt with active cultures? This might also help.

yougurt -cant take it, stopped it a couple of weeks ago because of suspcetced dairly allergy and i think its right. i atke psyllium with fruktooligosacharides and some probiotics. maybe i should mroe and experimentm, but again - no f* money. (honestly guys if i had lots of money to havea free pick between different supporting supplements i believe itd'be over all now)

Dairy sensitivity is usually to lactose. Yogurt has very little lactose, since the cultures break it down.

JK8, I drank Licorice tea and wound up relapsing. I had to start all over again. The sweetness in licorice tea evidentally isn't limited to the taste and this happened on more than one occassion after consuming it. It had no added sugar either.

Those who do not have severe lactose intolerance, can still consume small amounts of milk and may tolerate yoghurt just fine etc. Those who have a more severe case (like Jinx) may have to eliminate all dairy - all milk products contain lactose.

Yoghurt has lactase producing bacteria (lactic acid) that lowers the lactose content, but it will still contain a small amount regardless. It apparently converts it into glucose and galactose (which may still cause some issues in yeast regardless of lactose intolerance or not). In fact one candida website I belong to is so strict the ONLY dairy they advocate is butter.

Jinx do you handle butter?

Yoghurt is not allowed apparently. I do "ok" on it, but I have to be careful with it. I'm fine with butter (can eat any amount), but I cannot consume milk (not even small amounts) or cream. I don't know if it's lactose intolerance as such for me, or basically that the yeast feed on lactose or a combination of both problems.

The two suspect foods in my diet are yoghurt and raw nuts - which I may have to give up. Anything outside of meat/chicken/liver/eggs and low carbohydrate vegetables, water and herbal tea (as long as it's fruit/caffeine free) can be risky.

There are so many candida diet programmes out there that say this is ok, this isn't etc. Eventually you feel like tearing your hair out. But certainly the strictest programme I've seen is the one I mentioned with the only allowable foods above, until a person has improved/cured their candida to where they are able to include other foods again later on.

however, if a person's problem goes beyond the yeast and is an underlying chemical toxicity or viral etc, then it's possible that no matter how strict the programme, it will not cure the problem unless the underlying issue is treated. But it will likely help a person a great deal cope much better and may also help the body excrete a certain amount of those toxins in the process and deal better with existing problems. I find that when my body has been on an anti candida diet for long enough, I sense toxins trying to come out (even metals). It does indeed help the body.

So it certainly is a great part of any treatment programme.

Perhaps it was a candida die off reaction? Licorice root has many antifungal chemicals in it.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't die off. I don't relapse with a die off. I get symptoms for sure, but not relapse. Drinking licorice tea has produced the same reaction and problems that I have had from consuming fruit, coffee or high carbohydrate foods.
And the same amount of time to improve again following it.

I'm unsure what to make of the antifungal properties, as it certainly never seemed that way for me. If it does have this, then the sweetness of it has its own problems that may undo any good it could have done otherwise (at least in my case).

If you get the same reaction from coffee as from licorice root, then the reaction may be due to adrenal stimulation. Coffee has no calories(unless you add milk or sugar).

Perhaps yes. I am not sure what coffee does, but it certainly (directly/indirectly) causes the yeast to grow. Somewhere I read that it can wipe out good bacteria....Coffee without milk/cream/sugar - just straight coffee is enough to cause a relapse in me.

Perhaps blood sugar levels rise in response to the adrenal stimulation? I am uncertain what exacty it is about coffee, but there it is. I'm ok with black tea though - in fact Andy Cutler recommends strong black tea for those with candida. He feels it helps... Not sure how accurate that is. Herbal tea seems to be the safest (at least for me).
