UN set for swine flu crisis talks


UN health officials have called an emergency meeting to discuss swine flu, amid rumours that the first global flu pandemic in 40 years will be declared.
The World Health Organization announced the meeting after a steep rise in the number of cases in Australia.
WHO chiefs spoke to ministers in the worst-hit countries on Wednesday to get "undisputable" evidence of its spread.
A disease is classed as a pandemic when transmission between humans becomes widespread in two regions of the world.
Analysts say calling the H1N1 strain a pandemic will make little difference to the handling of the outbreak.
But the move may speed up the production of vaccines and prompt national governments to impose measures such as travel bans.

Evolving situation
The virus emerged in Mexico in April and since then thousands of cases have been confirmed throughout North and South America.

The virus has spread to 74 countries but the WHO has resisted labelling the outbreak a full-blown pandemic.
WHO chief Margaret Chan talked to officials from eight countries with large flu outbreaks on Wednesday in an attempt to confirm the spread of the disease.
She has said she believes the situation can be regarded as a pandemic but says she wants clear evidence before making an announcement.

The WHO's move follows Australia's confirmation of more than 1,200 cases - a four-fold increase in a week.
The head of the WHO's global influenza programme, Keiji Fukuda, said the situation had "evolved a lot" in recent days.
"We are getting close to knowing that we are in a pandemic situation," he said.

Although most sufferers experience regular flu symptoms and make a full recovery, the WHO has confirmed 141 deaths from 27,737 cases.

The BBC's health correspondent, Jane Dreaper, says classifying the virus as a pandemic does not mean that the virus has suddenly become more deadly.

But it does send a clear signal to health officials and businesses to continue planning for the possibility of large numbers of people catching the virus, she says.
The WHO's emergency committee is due to meet in Geneva at 1000 GMT.

The last global pandemic was declared in 1968 over the Hong Kong flu.

It seems like there is a big chance lots of us may get sick with this flu eventually..
If not now maybe in the fall..
But I still don't want their poison laden flu shot.

About 60 local confirmed cases already.
Of course that will spread.

Oh no way, I will not get their poison. We will just stay in the house, away from everyone that we can be. If they come knocking with their shots, we will be armed and waiting, because it will be over my dead body, before they will stick any needle in my kids.

Someone posted a list, I will have to find it, of who will get it first. They will vaccinate our most important people first...our military and health care workers. They are using them as "lab rats", for their agenda. A lot of people that are skeptical will go ahead and opt for a shot, after they see that these people are OK after theirs. They are too naive to understand the effects of that shot, may not show up right away.

A lot of people are sick, and some dying. They are hiding the numbers. They have stopped testing a lot of people, already.

Tomorrow may really be the day they go to a Pandemic 6, or today that would be. I haven't gone to bed yet.

It will either be a total panic, or no one will even pay attention.

It may just be that more people will pay attention, as their friends and family start becoming sick.

I am afraid it will be terribly bad this fall. I hope I'm wrong.

I feel sorry for people in the military as they have been so vaccinated for alot already and they go through the worse.
But still..
The babies and children that have come down with autism and other neurological disorders and health issues they lose their health and senses so very young.
They don't even get a chance in life.
I'm lucky that my other daughter has improved alot but not all children with autism improve or improve alot.

I can't remember but I think you mentioned something about it.
It's just so awfull how many children are effected already and they want to vaccinate as many babies toddlers ect they can get their hands on.
Lots of people don't want their vaccines anymore but of course the killer flu would change that for some of them.
They always seem to win don't they as things are right now.
But at this time..
They rule the world they set the agenda.
All we can do is warn people and hope they listen.
So they can protect themselves any way they can.
Just in case.
I'm stocking up on vitamin C ect..
Anything that may help knock off the symptoms of a flu.
The one I had late Feb was really bad it wasen't like a regular flu.
Even the urgent care doctor I saw when I described my symptoms said he never heard of it it must be some kind of virus.
Not flu..
I had chills ect.
It was a flu but different then any I ever expirenced before.
Couldn't be worse then that could it?
Hope not.

I will sit back with my GARLIC and my Olive leaf and take my chances on this flu! Forget a vaccination as that will mess me up alot worse IMO in the long run and maybe even short term.

No doubt. They can take their killer vaccine, and inject someone who WANTS it (and there's a lot of people that do). I will keep with my natural stuff.
