Hello, I just had two mercury amalgams removed last week by a holistic dentist who took all precautions and I'm waiting for the DMSA I ordered to arrive and then will start the Cutler Protcol. I have access to a steam sauna and plan to use that during chelation to help remove the toxins. Even though I haven't started chelation I used the sauna last night anyway and felt really good afterwards and this morning. Is there likely mercury in my bloodstream due to the removal at this point? I'm guessing that if there is, the sauna would help me purge it.
Also, when is it best to use the sauna...during a chelation round or during the "off" days? Or does it really matter?

Great! So those were your last two amalgams? It's not reccomended to start DMSA with amalgams still in, but you probably already knew that. Steams saunas RULES! But CAN give redistribution too as everything else. I reccomend higher sauna doses rather than smaller, as high as you can take. Because low doses loosens mercury and sweats out only little of that which have been loosened by the heat, On the other hand.. higher doses loosens more, but also sweats out a higher percent of that which has been loosened.. But ofcourse, listen to your body and your head (dizzyness, etc) while doing sauna... You know when you had enough, etc.... safety etc... Drysaunas has sometimes been, ineffective and one time bad for me..... I don't like dry saunas no more... steam saunas on the other hand is great, so GO! It helps a lot! If there is still mercury in you bloodstream after such a short time... YES. The sauna, will in my mind, saturate the blood in mercury to a point, and then get much of that out via the pores.... That is my explanation for why longer sauna sessions is better than small ones for me.... Short sessions gives more redistribution with me, while long sessions gets more out and gives less redistribution... I'm beeing repetetive, but doesn't want to get misunderstood while underexplaining... When it is best to use the sauna in regards to chemical chelation, i don't know... But i can tell you (They say garlic isn't a chelator, but only a mobilizer, I don't quite agree, but...) Well.. i CAN tell you that i once recently eat raw garlic and took sauna the same day..... and the results where "catastrophic" for sime time afterwards... it was too much.... both the garlic and the sauna probably saturated the blood with too much mercury at the same time..... Don't know.. but i think it must be that way... I'm better now..... but it took some time to recover... Basicly what helps me is Steam saunas once every 14 days (safety to not burn out my mineral base and crash into fatigue), Asian toilet (Squatting) helps rid the colon and CURES constipation! which is a must during any detox, garlic.. well i have becomen more sensitive to that.. at least raw, so im now more careful with that, btw synthetic garlic pills can be dangerous in other people's experience here, real garlic is said to be safer, however i'm saying be careful with garlic, i use fresh red chilipeppers in most food, stay away from food aditives, drinks a lot of water, use honey in tea... etc..... I have not started any synthetic chelator usage yet, i still have one filling left... I started doing saunas as a light version of DMSA in my mind, a year ago... until i could get strong enough to continue more amalgam removals.... However.. Cutler is known to have said that saunas equals dmsa.... so.... Any.... a year ago just after two drillouts, i were are "cripple" crying for help... Today.... after lots of sauna and going to the toilet Asian style.... i am functioning and am happy again.... But NOT fully where i want to be... yet... However... Yes. Steam saunas are great... Glad you have access to one. About the DMSA.... Someone else of the reg's has to answer that... Good luck! And great health and healing to you! Cheers.

I allmost forgot the most importan of all... Don't sit and sweat for half an hour in one go for instance..... Take 5 minutes in, 10 out in cool showers, 5-10 in... 10 out.... etc.... I do this sometimes for 2hrs.... Just had to tell you in case you didn't know.... Because this is of paramount importance for safety.

I even feel my brains are beeing detoxed too, only from using sauna.. However, there are those who disagree on that..... I'm closing my ears to such beleifs... I'm getting my youthful clearness and consentrational abilities back more and more for each sauna session! In my mind...... even what the Cutler people on this board or anywhere else says.... Saunas also detoxes the brains! Logically.... the head is hotest in a sauna room, highest up.... so.. that logic speaks for it self.... I atleast notices most improvements in the brain than in my body... but ofcourse both... Cheers!

Saunas are helping me more right now than any other chelation method. I'm still taking DMSA but the results i've had from Saunas are something months of ALA couldn't do. I also prefer steam saunas, the dry ones did nothing for me really. Your comment about them being able to chelate brain mercury i agree with. I got buzzing and tingling in my head afterwards so something was being shifted. Just wish i could afford my own!

Thank you Bex! I want to do ALA but i feel too dead when i use it, also my yeast issues flare up too much. Way too much and it feels like i've gone back years simply by taking it. Also when i take ALA there's almost immediate weight loss. I look terrible and feel crap inside.
The Sauna was surprising. At first i couldn't sweat then all of a sudden it's dripping off me. A strange thing i noticed is that my skin started peeling. I was dragging dead skin off me with my nails but it looked blue..very strange!

Hi Bex. I don't think this stuff is a dye and likewise mine is sometimes grey. I find it hard to believe it's dirt too. I can scrape loads of it off once my body temporature gets to a certain level. Could it be metal deposits perhaps?
I know i have to do the ALA eventually and i'm not looking forward to it. However six months ago i couldn't even take DMSA and now i can easily do a round of 25mcgs.

I don't know what it is either. I don't get it all the time, but I do get it occassionally and I wonder what the heck it is. I scrape it off with my finger nails. And yes it's only in the heat. It happens occassionally in a hot bath for me. Certainly the stuff itself is not dye, but I wonder if it can get discoloured by the dye in blue sheets/clothing. I wonder if the actual colour is grey... which leads me to consider it maybe metal related as you suggested. Do you wear alot of blue? Sleep in blue sheets?
The consistency seems like thin tacky substance...is that what you get?
Yeah, it's not fun to do chelation when it makes you feel and look wretched. Been there! Everything gets worse again and it feels like regression. LIke you're going backwards. It's not something I ever looked forward to and I would often avoid it or delay it. Whenver I felt quite well, I felt confident and I'd do it again, but then I'd feel so awful, that all those horrible feelings would return and I'd almost regret doing it (until that wore off again). Usually over time you do start noticing changes for the better, but it's often so slow that it's almost insidious and you don't recognise at the time until gradually you start noticing something.
Your experience with DMSA shows that over time, as you chelate more mercury, tolerance goes up, which shows that you have definitely progressed. I hope this might happen with ALA soon. Just keep on sweating until you feel you can try it again. At your own pace.
