whoops - pressed the wrong button there!!
This symptom is freaking me out a bit. Before I had all my amalgams removed I had a sort of muscle pain in the heart area, which I think was angina. I think this is caused by a lack of oxygen to the heart muscle (I'm glad I didn't know this at the time), and I think it was due to low haemoglobin. I didn't really think too much about it alongside all my other symptoms, though it was quite painful at times. After amalgam removal, it went away.
Now, six months down the line, it has suddenly reappeared, and I am feeling ropier again, though it's not much of a difference!
I know about the six-month organ mercury dumping time frame, and it MAY be that. The other thing is that I have recently started using quite a lot of coconut oil, which is saturated fat, and I have noticed mainly positive side effects. I have had low cholesterol for a couple of years now, and my last blood test in November showed that it was still below normal, but coming slowly up. What I am panicking about is that by using coconut oil I have suddenly dramatically increased my cholesterol, blocked my arteries which is now causing the angina!! I guess it might be temporary while the body gets used to the extra cholesterol? I didn't think there were any bad side effects from coconut oil - thought it was the caffeine, sugar and carbs which caused high cholesterol - all of which I have eliminated.
Or is it the six months mercury thing? Aarrgh! Someone reassure me. Guess I'll have to go to the doctor to have it checked out....

Hi Nicola, it could be the 6 month thing, i have heart pain alot but to me its a way of life, it never scares me now, i have had it too long, since i was a teen and the docs say nothing is wrong. I could be in a shop or whatever and suddenly i have this heart pain and im holding my hands against my heart because of the pain and also its hard to breath, and everyone looks concerned but theres nothing anyone can do. i also get alot of heartbeats going fast and then none, then one with a big bump, but it doesnt scare me. I also have lots of cocnut oil, its really healthy, i dont think its that thats causing it.

Nicola, post your reaction about coconut oil on this group http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/candidasupport/The lady who runs it is excellent. She advocates all those fats. People on there consume LOADS of coconut oil and do very well. Let her know this and she will give you an explanation. The problems could be temporary yes, but I would not muck around. I'd ask the lady on that forum about this. The 6 month thing can occur and occurs often and yeah usually your old symptoms return even worse than what they were. Mercury can do all of this. Andy Cutler talks about it and says to get on chelation right away to control this problem. HIs idea is to use DMSA (available online), at about 25 - 50 mg every 4 hours around the clock (even at night) for about 3 days on and 3 or more days as a break and to continue this cycle for months. You can go as long as a week on and then take a week off if a person wants. But 3 days is a good start. Also the dose may need to be started even lower than 25 mg, because many have found they have had to use as low as 6 mg or 12.5 mg. This can help control the symptoms during the second stage of suffering (as he calls it). This is done for about 3 months or so, to reduce blood levels of mercury and then alpha lipoic acid is brought onboard to chelate brain and organ mercury. Alpha lipoic acid can be used with the DMSA in the same manner (but preferably every 3 hours instead of 4) and 3 days every week until the person heals. THe dose can be about the same as DMSA, but should as always be started very low. You can use alpha lipoic acid on its own without DMSA if a person wants, but DMSA can help with the side effects and also increases chelation more at the sametime. HOwever, DMSA is used alone at the beginning for the first few months to bring down blood levels first for a good reason. Alpha lipoic acid is known to chelate brain mercury, but if your blood levels of mercury are still high, chances of moving that into the brain are high if they are not reduced first. DMSA is optional, ALA is essential. But either you can wait this period out by letting the body slowly and naturally try and reduce some of the mercury on its own, or you can use DMSA to speed this up and chelate even more of it. But ALA is the one that chelates the organs! So it's the prime chelator. candida diet is also essential for many of us to help reduce pathogens/yeast in the body. And getting onboard good supplemetns like antioxidants, B complex, zinc, magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin E, possibly milk thistle if it's tolerated and optionally using some selenium (in the form of seleneomethionine as it's more tolerated.). and of course the essential fats - butter, extra virgin olive oil, organic coconut oil, lard etc. These help heal the body, encourage bile, and are good for the brain also. Taking a pure fish oil is also another one to do. Cod liver oil is the best.
