I had my dental work done by Dr Rhidian http://www.holisticdentalcentre.co.uk/ourteam.htmlI have been very pleased with the work he has done and found him to be very thorough and professional. He used a glass inomer for the replacement fillings which he felt at the time was the best product on the market from the research that he has done. And nearly three years on so far so good.

Austin is a good dentist. What are his concerns about diamondlite? I still have some fillings left to replace, and want the best possible composite. I have some diamondlite fillings, which have to be an improvement on mercury, but if there is something better, I'd like to know. I always believed diamondlite was the best. What is in it now causing concern?

Hi Richard. I have my first appointment there on Wednesday. I have four fillings to remove in total, although i may do 2 at a time. (depends if i can take the fillings removal without an injection). I am not sure yet if I am Mercury Toxic, as i haven't done a hair test as yet, but i think its still a good thing to do anyway, even though i believe i am from similar symptoms on this board. Does he recommend any detox programs, and how does he verify that all the mercury vapour has been removed from the fillings? Can he also check if your fillings are leaking etc? If anyone else has handy questions to ask the dentist that I or anyone else should now before they start there work, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks Crunchie

Hi Crunchie
I have only recently heard about the mercury vapour issue and teeth. I dont know enough about this to comment but Gareth didnt check this with me and placed permenant fillings in straight away. If you know more about this issue perhaps you could enlighten me.
He recommends using a product called seagreens for detox which i didnt take to. I chose to go my own way in the end and have sought help with this from another practitioner.
He also does a test on the first visit which can tell what electrical charge your tooth is giving of if i remember correctly. From this he can tell how much mercury your teeth are giving off. If it very small he will recommend not removing them. A friend of mine went to see him and he recommended against removal for her. I think thats why a hair test can also be useful. It might be better to get that done before you see him.
If he thinks the amalgam might be a problem is likely to suggest having a DMSA challenge test. There are problems with these tests as mentioned elsewhere so you will have to decide whether to go ahead with that.
You can also have a test to see wether you are allergic to mercury but that seemed unecessary to me as i had decided by then to have them removed.
Fillings are removed by a quadrant at a time. Upper left, upper right, lower left and lower right. He removes fillings only from one quadrant per visit. Apparently this has been shown as effective. I think he starts with the quadrant with the highest positive electrical charge first and works down, but you will have to clarify that. He uses all the relevant safeguards.
I did find him a little difficult to get hold of to talk to if something came up but did manage to keep in contact with perseverance

Hi David
Its been nearly three years post amalgam removal. Its been a gradual process of getting slowly better the first six months were hell. The last three or four months have felt much better but i am still not 100%. I am curious what is being said about the mercury vapour issue as i have only recently heard about this.Could be worth looking into before deciding how to proceed. The whole are iis quite complicated though and most practices to do with removal and detox are hotly debated. Before you procced with Dr Hesham El-Essawy i would look at threads about him on this forum first.
