hi all,
i've been reading some of the past posts and see that something happens every 6 months with the mercury redistributing? i've been sick for 5 years, had amalgams out for 2 & 1/2 years. not chelating. have candida somewhat under control with Bee's diet. This is wierd that i read upon the 6 month thingy, cause every 6 months my illness gets worse for a while. it's been every june & january. please tell me what this is.

Hi Janey, no it's not every six months. It's usually six months after the last amalgam has been removed that the stored mercury begins to dump back out into the blood stream. It can cause a lot of distress, because it feels like repoisoning and in a sense it is. And from then on causes symptoms until enough of the mercury has been removed.

Some get it earlier, some later and some don't seem to get this at all. But it makes sense for it to happen, because once you cut off the ongoing source of exposure (amalgams), surely the body is going to be signalled to start dumping it's storage at some point.... And usually after six months, the body begins to do this.

For me? I got it about....a year later or more and once it started, it was a nightmare from then on until I had chelated enough mercury to start seeing results. But it was a roller coaster ride to get there.

I don't have those improvements now, I have other health issues, but back then? I was healing pretty well with chelation.

For you to get some kind of exacerbation every 6 months Maybe it is some kind of healing cycle your body is going in, that every six months it retraces the symptoms. It maybe that your body is healing over time, but every six months, you may hit some kind of retracing healing crisis and then after its' done this, perhaps it reaches an improved level of health.....that's just an opinion though (unprofessional).

I hope Bee's diet is helping you, it is very good I know. I don't know if I agree with her that it "chelates and cures metal toxicity", but I think it's a good foundation to providing the body with the raw materials it needs to rebuild tissue, eliminate some of what it doesn't need etc. I doubt that it thoroughly detoxes mercury, as I feel that many are too poisoned and need more than that, plus to eliminate mercury it takes so many years that it is ludicrous and even then, people can be storing a lot of it and not realise it. So some choose to do both her diet and a good chelation protocol as well. But if you feel it's working enough for you? Then you will know what feels best.

I can personally attest to the six month organ dump, as I am going through it myself. I had started to have a few good days just before it started, but now I am back to square one, exactly six months after the last amalgam was removed. I wake up with a headache, my heart pounds, I get angina, excessive salivation and puffy eyes. I feel more tired than normal and very grumpy. This goes on for about a week, then I have a few days feeling better, then it's into the next dump. I have to say I feel really discouraged. I knew it was going to happen, but I didn't think it would be this bad. I feel as bad as I did when I was having my fillings out ...

My problem is that I can't seem to alleviate the symptoms at all. Chelating with DMSA, even micro doses of 6mg, seems to stress my adrenals even more, so I'm not sure that's the answer. ALA is out of the question while my body seems to be dumping mercury all by itself. Chlorella aggravates the candida, and Algin gives me stomach ache. I am taking lots of Vit C and drinking detox tea. Anyone got any suggestions?

If you're six months down the track, you are ok to use ALA. It is the first three months after amalgam removal that you must not use ALA, as the blood levels of mercury are still high from the years of having amalgam, plus the exposure during mercury. Within those 3 months, the blood levels reduce on their own (you can use DMSA to speed that process up or wait it out). Later once blood levels reduce, the organs can then start to leak out their mercury and you use ALA to begin chelating the organs, so that you can begin to get the mercury out of the organs as it's leaking out. Once you keep chelating, you'll be able to get the mercury before it can leak out and some even feel 'cured" during that stage, but the problem is, too often they stop chelating too early and find they get ill again, because the mercury that was still in the organs is still leaking out!!! So you chelate until yu feel well, then you chelate for another 6 months to a year to make sure you ARE well (longer if symptoms return again).

The danger is just when the blood levels are acutely high from recent exposure, or right after amalgam removal. Organ leakage doesn't occur until about 6 months to a year down the road and you need ALA to chelate organs and brain.

DMSA is only to chelate the initial high blood/tissue levels in the early stages. NOt everybody tolerates DMSA I'm afraid and it's as simple as that. Some do ok and find it helps them a lot, others just cannot tolerate it and can use ALA all by itself very effectively. ALA is the necessary, DMSA is optional.

If you're nervous about it, you can try a very small amount of it, but the most important aspect of all this, is the dosage regime. EVery 3 hours around the clock (even at night) for about 3 days on and then break from about 3 days (or longer if you need to) and repeat and continue this cycle till you are well.

ALA does chelate the body and brain. The basic supplement regime Andy Cutler recommends is the following to help with all this - vitamin C, vitamin B complex, zinc, magnesium, Vitamin E, and possibly plenty of flaxseed oil for the essential fatty acids to replace what the mercury has robbed. You need able a tablespoon a day (good taken in plain yoghurt or with cottage cheese). and/or you can use a good amount of pure fish oil. One way or the other, wise idea to get essential fatty acids, as your brain desperately needs these fats.

As well as this, being on a candida diet can be essential to help with toxin removal, plus reducing yeast levels. No sugar, no yeast, no gluten grains, lessen or eliminate fruit and milk and eat things like eggs, meat, vegetables (no potatoes preferably, as they are high in starch/natural sugar), some raw nuts like brazil and almonds, plain acidophilus yoghurt. Healthy fats like butter, lard, extra virgin olive oil, organic coconut oil etc. They all provide the body with what it needs to heal tissue, for hormones and for bile production etc.

You should begin to catch up to this leakage, to where you will be chelating it before it gets the chance to build up and make you ill.

thanks for this. I am already doing Bee's diet. I don't think I want to use ALA, because it will mobilise more mercury than already is floating around my body. I am happy that the mercury is coming out, but the symptoms are really unpleasant, and I can't tolerate anything to reduce them - DMSA, chlorella, algin etc. Guess I've just got to wait it out and think of it as a healing crisis, which it is, and which is good, but it's so hard. I am so fed up with living like this, and having been robbed of my life for the past 2 and a half years. Some days the only thing that keeps me going is the thought of my young son growing up without me. If it weren't for my children, I don't think I would have the desire to carry on and see this thing through. I am of course making the massive assumption that I will get better, though that's not necessarily a given.

Hi Nicola, I can understand this, I've been ill for 20 years. You can allow your body to try and do this as much as it's able. Obviously, yu will know what you're able to tolerate.

oral DMPS is another option at bringing these levels down. It is like DMSA, only safer, more effective, plus tolerated by almost everybody. You need it by prescription though, but only take about 25 mg (or less to start) every 6-8 hours around the clock for a week or so and same amount of time as a break.

It is helping many. DMSA is also good, but again, some just don't tolerate it and you maybe one of those. Oral DMPS is the other option. Does the same as DMSA, just gentler and more effective.

Other than that, i can only suggest sticking to the diet, the healthy fats, vitamin/minerals, and possibly taking epsom salts in a pretty hot bath to encourage sweating via the pores of your skin.

Also, gentle walking/reboudning too is other options. Diet to my mind is essential throughout any of this, as it's the foundation of what you body relies on to heal.

I'm really sorry you are going through this crap, it is slow and painful. When I had this, I did not really know much about Andy Cutler, I was just relying on my own body, or I'd take things every now and again to tease more mercury out, that was awful, but I guess it did speed some of the process up, as horrible as it was. However, no sooner do you get a space of "clearing" than more mercury downloads and comes to the surface ready to be eliminated. So it's like you just get a clear patch, and more mercury leaks to fill that up, though it is coming out of you, the process is often far worse than having amalgams! As the detoxing can often agnosing and no words can really describe the suffering you are enduring. Only someone that knows it well can appreciate what it's like.

So if you can't or don't wish to try DMPS (oral), I can only suggest doing what you can to support this process and the hot baths with epsom salts, diet, some gentle exercise, supplements and maybe every now and again, taking something to stir and encourage some further mercury elimination.

To think that this is so unnecessary that any human should need to go through this, all becuase of the dental association. What an evil bunch they are.

Also, there is something else you can do. Aside from the diet and fats (which also aid this process of elimination), Hal Huggins (mercury pioneer), talks of the vitamin C flush. This can be done on a weekend. The purpose of the flush is to create diarrhea in order to clean out the mercury altered bacteria and other mercury or heavy metal products that might be in the intestinal tract.

You get vitamin C powder (sodium ascorbate), about 4 gram (4000 mg) into 2 - 3 ounces of water, mix and drink and do this every 20 minutes until diarrhea occurs. Then you cease taking it. A maxium of 15 teaspoons is recommended and if diarrhea has not occured, stop and try again the next day or another day. You can do this once a week for three weeks, then skip three weeks and then repeat it again and so forth.

He also emphasises the need to consume animal proteins and fats to help eliminate metals and heal tissue. And butter is another one he mentions as being great for this condition.

Aside from that. I know of a homepathic detox kit that can also encourage metal/mercury and toxin elimination. It is Heels detox kit. If you're interested let me know. It does work, but may need to only use a few drops at first, as it can be pretty powerful.
