Hey all,

My Dr. had me start taking Oil of Oregano (ADP emulsified) last week. I was taking 1 tablet 3x a day. But now I am taking 2 3x a day. I noticed since taking the increased dose, my symptoms have increased. I'm more tired, mainly and more aches. And I have had an increase in gas/bloating. I know people mention feeling crappy during a die off reaction, but does this sound consistent? How long does it last? Has anyone used Oil of Oregano to kill candida or other infections? I have a call in to the Dr., but I am wondering if anyone can share some experiences with this stuff. Thanks

Sounds just like the typical healing symptoms to me. Any area of your body requiring healing will worsen during healing and it can go up and down for weeks on end. You'll think yu're mending oneday and you'll be worse again the next.

So i'd not be too concerned, but go easy on the oregano and concentrate more on the diet, which is actually the main one to heal you. The other stuff is complimentary and secondary.

take care and hang in there, seems like you're onto the right road, though it's not an easy one. patience and persistance are required, along with no cheating on diet. It's tough, but necessary.

I take the Oregano Juice and Oil at the advice of my holistic dentist to boost my immune system. My experience is that it made me feel really good, and almost completely diminished the metallic taste and burning I have been experiencing in my mouth, but after several weeks of using it, I started getting some symptoms similar to yours. Gas, stomach pain, etc. so I stopped taking it for a little while and those symptoms were gone. I did attribute this to "die off", as I know you get worse before you get better. It's a natural antiseptic, etc. and I just figure that I am "SO" toxic, that the pain is from it trying to clean my gut out. So, now I take it for awhile or when I feel like I need an immune boost, and then I take a break from it. My husband still takes it most of the time, and it's great when you need a good night of sleep, it's really relaxing. On the nights that I take it before bed, I don't wake up in the night, I actually SLEEP.

I'm also taking ADP, but have never increased the dose. Still at the 1 cap 3 times a day. When I started this I felt worse from the die off, but it has really helped me. I've been taking it since the middle of September.

I also take Oregano OIl --but not faithfully- When I do take it, I notice that my sinuses are very cleaned out.

I also have had experiences where I used to have sinus parasites -- (along with the symptoms of "itchy nose" and I could even feel their movement deep in my nasal sinus area. When I would light a Neem oil bug stick outside, I could feel the movement all the more.

Taking Oregano oil orally actually killed whatever was in there immediately . I also notice that if I were congested, oregano oil clears me out-- and rids any scratchy throat.

I read that Oregano oil is VERY anti-parasitic and anti-viral so I can see it having die-off symptoms. It is a good thing to have on hand during any epidemic. Sometimes it can be expensive-- but what also works for me is the Vitamin World brand that has buy one, get one free sales all the time-- so it ends up costing like, $9.99 a bottle that can last a year.

Yeah I'm gonna stick with it. I have an appt with the Dr. that prescribed it in about a week anyways. I'm taking so much crap now its kind of nuts. I just got to get my adrenals up and running like they should and get some toxins out of my system... hard work and I'm so tired... *sigh*

Hi! I use the liquid extract-- and if you use two drops under the tongue for 5 days a week, that may even be enough to stave off any potential sinus infections, colds, flus. -- just those two drops each night after brushing the teeth.

I also have used the gelcaps combined with peppermint oil from another company-- that cost $5.99 a box. The gel caps, I feel, are more effective with intestinal issues-- including parasites in the intestines.

Yes it does sound like classic die-off symptoms to me. the important thing to remember is that die off is not necessarily good for you if you are experiencing it long term. You should aim to go at your maximum dosage without experiencing so much discomfort while on the stuff.
Also, you could look into a sluggish liver. As this could contribute to major die off symptoms with "normal" dosages of antibaterials/antifungals/antivirals. If your system is not eliminating the wastes as quickly as it should perhaps you should add some liver support. (with a general immune stimulant to clear all that dead stuff from your system). Some naturopathic doctors call it "weed and feed".
