My doctor asked me what the hell I've been doing to get abnormal toxicity in 12 environmental metals: in 98th percentile on mercury and thallium, beyond the 68th percentile in copper, cadmium and arsenic. The other toxicities are uranium, tungsten, nickel, antimony, lead and beryillium. What the hell have I been doing. I have eaten a lot of fish (which I stopped) on the anti-inflammatory/candida diet, and I did used to swim in polluted 3-mile creek as a child(in the 70s). And I do have galvanized water pipes (though I filter my water, and my water at work is filtered.) Any perspective on how this happened, and how bad it really is?

I don't think you should drink from galvanized water pipes, even if they're being filtered. How certain can you be that the filter is successfully extracting metals? And even if it is, how certain can you be that it's extracting ALL the metals?

I also think, if you haven't started already, you should consider taking sodium alginate regularly. Not only do you need to get rid of the metals built up in you currently, you need to make sure no more new metals are being added.

Something else that just ocurred to me which you might want to consider.

I drink a lot of tea and, up until now, I've been boiling my tea in an electric pot, of sorts. I don't really know what they're called but it's a plastic unit that plugs into the wall, inside are metal coils which heat up quite rapidly. Now I hate to be the paranoid sort, or to invoke paranoia in others, but after several months of using this instrument I noticed the metal coils look .. corroded .. as if some of the metal had been worn away. Well, where do you think that metal is going? In my stomach! Furthermore, I'm told that teflon and some other cookingware (you know, the non-stick kind) tends to deteriorate after a time, and all the little metal scrapings at the bottom of your pan are also likely being consumed.

Now this doesn't mean we should all be running around hysterically, paranoid of every modern devide that we use (don't florescent lights contain mercury as well, for example?) but it certainly helps to know your products. I try to be a conscious consumer. You might want to make an itinerary of product you use and ask yourself if there could be metal contamination involved. For example, I use deodorant rather than anti-perspirant. Anti-perspirant (and SOME deodorants) contains aluminumchloride -- and while so-called "Health Officials" will tell you that it's perfectly safe applying to your skin, they aren't taking into consideration the fact that the human body is porous and can absorb these products even if they aren't being injested orally. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not have something called "aluminumchloride" flowing through my bloodstream just so that I can smell better!

I imagine I've got a lot of other metals in me. For years I've drank water straight from the tap, ate foods out of tins and cans.

I noticed a couple of years ago that the bottom of kettles didn't look good. I always replaced the kettle when I noticed it and got a non-corrosive one, but that too now is not looking good, rather disgusting in fact, which reminds me I need to put some white vinegar in it to clean it. I don't actually use the kettle more than once a day, but my parents use it and unfortunately don't care about these things the way that I do, so it's pretty much left up to me to sort it.

I stopped drinking tap water a few weeks ago and only drink bottled mineral water now and milk. It's pretty much all I drink at the moment, with the exception of a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of soda a couple of times a week. I can't drink fruit as it tends to give me rhinitis.

I very rarely wear make up and never wear anti-perspirant as it can lead to cancer, I'll either wear a deodrant or just a natural collection body spray. If I wear earrings, they are always gold or silver. I don't wear contact lenses, although mainly because I can't face the process, lol.

I used to eat tuna as a child, but not since I became vegetarian.

I heard that putting mercury in contact lens solutions had stopped, but I didn't hear it from a reliable source.

If it's true, it's amazing considering what mercury does to the eyes.
