If you want to remove fluorides, then you need to know that the so-called reverse osmosis filters DO NOT do it (contrary to the claims by those who sell it). Have a look at www.deadWater.info/filter.htmthere is a description of various filtering systems hth: Oleg

I figured it out! Just get top quality distilled water and add mineral to it your self. It will taste better and heal you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

STEAM distillation removes everything. At least according to the book "Water the shocking truth that can save your life". By Paul c. Bragg and Patricia Bragg. Bragg enjoyed superior health all through out his life until he accidently died by the water wave I think. Through out his carrier he wrote many books on health. His main thing however was distilled water. He praised it and claimed that it is the only type of water that is pure and free of concerns. But things have changed quite a bit. A lot of companies now make distilled water, but can we trust them? Anyhow, this latetest book above was about the types of safe water. I've read it till the end and then and only then did Bragg finally said and apologized for keeping the reader waiting that STEAM distilled water is better than any, including Reverse Osmosis. However, Bragg never mentioned that distilled water is dead water. Because it is dead it is unutual for human consumption. I guess due to its lack of minerals it actually takes minerals out of one's body. So, the solution I found is to add your own minerals to the dead water to make come alive. I trust the minerals I add to the STEAM distilled water I drink. But for the water I am not sure. Even though it claims that it's pure, only the company really knows that. I get mine from health store. So, true distillation removes everything, but whether it was done properly is up in the air.

Here is the Comparison of Water Treatment Methods in that book on page 156.
Steam distillation removes the following: Alluminum Arsenic Bacteria Benzene Bromide Cadmium Calcium Chlorides Chlorine Chromium Cryptosporidium Detergens FLUORIDES Herbicides Lead Magnesium MERCURY MTBE Nitrate Organics Pesticides Phosphates Radon Sediment Sodium Sulfates Sulfide TDS TTHM Viruses
Reverse Osmosis removes the above except for: all of Arsenic all of Bacteria all of Nitrate Viruses
The question whether it removes Fluorides is debated right now.
For comparison sediment filter does not remove anything but
Sediments
And Carbon filter only removes
Chlorides Chlrorine some Chromium some Detergents Herbicides MTBE Organics Pesticides some Sediment some Sulfates some Sulfide

Also as for the shower filter Mine only remove chlorine So I take only cold showers really briefly. I wash my face and hair, brush my teeth in STEAM distilled water with added minerals to it. I wash dishes only with the gloves on.
