Nine amalgams installed in teen years. Experienced depression, extreme shyness, numerous fears, low self esteem, inability to cope with confrontation, inability to make commitments, etc., etc. About 30, began to experience weight gain, and several other symptoms that increased in number until I was 35 when there were 17 mostly severe symptoms. Had amalgams out at 35 and had dramatic recovery, lost most of 17 physical symptoms, got memory back better than ever, and lost almost all emotional issues and fears. So... The prime of my life was owned by a false belief the ADA gave to my dentist. My Mercury Story

I started having problems around 25 or 26. I finally figured out the mercury issue at 36.

I have been sickly all my life, constipation since birth...my mom had a mouth full of amalgams, that is where it started and then vaccines and amalgams of my own, and my health got progressively worse.
And I am certainly not blaming my dear Mom, she is alive and doing pretty well at 84, obviously she is a good excretor, I must have inherited the non excreting gene APOE-4 from my Dad, he died of colon cancer 2 years ago...and he was constipated all of his life too....just like my sister, and my aunt and many of my paternal cousins.
Mercury inhibits the enzymes that digest dairy and gluten proteins, that is why we are better off without them. And studies have shown that autistic kids do much better on a diet free from dairy and gluten as well.
Btw, I am 55 and diagnosed with ovarian cancer in January....but I am going to win this war too!!!

I am 49 years old and have had mercury symptoms since I was 10 or11 years old. Brain fog and what I call TIRED HEAD are my two worst symptoms. I was up to 8 toxic fillings until last year when I had them completely removed safely(Thanks to the GREAT people on this forum and their guidance). I have been taking many supplements from my chiropractor/energy doctor which helped turn the corner for me. Now it's been Detox with chlorella and iodine. I am alive again and climbing out of the hellhole of poisoning.

My sister and I had 8 metal fillings since 11 or so years' of age. About one year later, we both needed prescription eye glasses where everyone else in my family has 20/20 vision.
I am 44 now (turned 44 this May) and my sister is 43. I've had all 8 of my fillings replaced over a year ago by a non holistic dentist-but I had it done gradually (two at a time in a several month period)
I no longer have the symptoms I used to have - including muscle tics, etc. My memory has also improved and I do not stutter anymore. My sister never stuttered or had poor memory, but she has other health issues that are a big concern for her right now- like Endometriosis and Celiac disease as well as Hypo-Thyroidism.
She still has her 8 metal fillings - and has toyed with the idea of having them removed, but since she has adopted a young child , she is intimidated at what she feels is a waste of money in having "perfectly good fillings" replaced when she thinks she could afford to wait awhile.
I tried to tell her that getting them done two at a time is very affordable on the pocketbook---but she also has a short attention span and it was like " in one ear and out the other" in 1 second.

I am 47. I always thought my health was pretty good but after being poisoned dreadfully by a couple of hack dentists this past winter and undergoing chelation I now realize that certain little things that have bothered me since childhood were most likely caused by mercury fillings and related heavy metals in my environment... like a sharp pain in my chest that would come and go which I was stold by my RN mom not to worry about when I was about 10... and the wierd ridges on my fingernails that I was told not to worry about by my RN mom at the age of 19... other little stuff, that have since gone away with the chelation.

First starting getting my symptoms two years ago. Only just found out it could well be Mercury related after numerous trips to the doctors and neurologist.

i'm 36 years old..just realizing that that the asthma and head shaking are from mercury poisoning. First started getting ear pains and asthma, head convulsions (electric shocks) around 12 years old. that's around when i got braces and had 11 fillings put in. I'm going to shoot the ADA president. ok..not really but i can dream can't i? Maybe i'll just tie the whole association down and pour mercury down all their throats and stick some up there A-holes too.

I am 36 years old. I had about 26 amalgam fillings put in my mouth between the ages of 8 and 12. It was called preventative dentistry back then. I don't think I actually had any cavities !!
In my early twenties I was living in Japan for about 4 years and was exposed to a lot of toxic chemicals at golf courses. During this period I also had a number of vaccine shots containing thimerosal. This was a very scary period of my life. The change in me was like night and day. I became extremely anxious, irritable, angry, did not menstruate for 4 years, very bad breast tenderness, fatigue, poor immune system, battled with glandular fever, became sensitive to light and suffered with all the regular candida symptoms.
When I returned to Australia, I went from doctor to doctor, even saw a psychiatrist as I thought I was going insane. None of them helped me whatsoever. They all just tried to give me scripts for antibiotics. I then saw a naturopath when I was about 26. I made a lot of changes to my diet and started using some herbs. I felt a lot better and my periods returned, which eased the PMS symtoms somewhat.
In my late twenties, I studied Naturopathy for three years and through my own research I worked out that I had a prolactin secreting pituitary tumour. An MRI confirmed my fears. All my focus went to the tumour and I found some herbs like Chaste Tree and Peonia which gave me back some quality of life.
I was still experiencing a lot of symptoms and I guess that I had just learned to live with it. However, early last year I started to develop tingling and numbness in my feet, hands and face. This really scared me, so my search for better health started all over again. It was June last year when I made the connection with all my symptoms and mercury toxicity. The fact that I had 26 fillings, had had numerous vaccine shots and had two great grandmothers with Parkinson's disease made me realise that my Pituitary tumour was not the root cause of my illness but merely another symptom of mercury poisoning.
I had all my amalgams removed last November and December by a holistic dentist. I lost a tooth during the process which I was not very happy about. I was in agony for about 6 weeks and was living on pain killers. I don't think I have ever experienced such pain before.
After that tooth was finally extracted and I got over that I actually had a few months in which I felt quite good. The most substantial relief was from my brain fog.
However, about 6 months after removal I went down hill again and all my symptoms came back with a vengeance. The brain fog is worse than ever.
I am now on my third round of DMSA and seem to be tolerating it quite well. I think I may introduce ALA at about round 6. Even though I don't feel fantastic I do have faith that I will get better. I still have a lot of work to do on my liver which would probably help the chelation process immensely. I have a glass of red wine nearly every evening so I really think that has to go by the wayside. The fact that I had a couple of really good months earlier, has inspired me to keep trying.
Oh one thing I forgot to mention was that during my amalgam removal and just after, the pins and needles and numbness was greatly exacerbated. However, I haven't experienced this symptom now for about 6 weeks now. This is a good sign. Naturopathic philosophy generally believes that the last symptoms to appear will be the first to disappear when one starts to recover.
Anyway best of luck to you all. All we can do is just keep trying, sharing information and moral support and trying our best to get on with life with a smile.
Cheers from Rachie

I ws 37 when I got sick after unprotected dental work. It was like a bolt from the blue, but as I found out more I could see the signs had been there all my life - frequent nighttime urination as a kid (when the 13 amalgams were going in), lowered immunity (very frequent chest infections), allergies (asthma, hives). Suicidal thoughts in my teens, depression. In my 20s I had more unprotected dental work, and stomach issues became a big issue, as did the rhinitis. Finally, at 37, after 3 children, a country move and a LOT of stress, it took one dentist visit to bring me to my knees. I have been sick now for 3 years, and at my worst was bed and housebound for 4 months. I am one year post-amalgam removal now - somewhat better, but my adrenals are so shot I have to chelate very slowly. Cutler DMSA protocol, haven't added in ALA yet.
I guess I've got at least another 2 years chelation to go, and I don't think I'll ever get off the thyroid and adrenal meds. Oh, and at least two of my three children are also mercury toxic, with underperforming adrenals / thyroid, candida and pituitary problems. I can (sort of) cope with the damage mercury has inflicted on my body and my life, but on my children??!! I hope those dentists rot in hell.

I agree that age dosen't matter in this situation!! I had a partial filling put in when I was 13. I took an atibiotic for the first time that year. I was pretty healthy until the dentist put 8 fillings in. I was 26 then, I was in great shape. I always loved working out in my yard. After the fillings being put in, I had sensitivity to sunshine!! I knew then whatever was wrong with me, had me doomed!! It took me under a year to figure out what was wrong with me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> I was working in a furniture finishing building and I also was in a car accident around the same time of my fillings being put in. I think the combination of the three about killed me!! I have had all put two fillings removed, but not without going through misery!! I feel almost human again, I'm dreading my last dentist visit <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> I know that it will take a bad affect on me!! I've been on the NCD for over a year and it really has given me my life back <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I also take barley green and sea kelp for my adrenals, I've noticed a huge difference by taking this. I take the vit c, omega3's, herbal fiberblend, and just carrots. I know that I need to get the last two out but at the same time I have to work. The last time of my removal I was off work for almost a month!! I wish everyone the best luck with your mercury battles <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Just remember one thing, if you don't have your health you don't have nothing!!! My mom told me that after she was diagnosed with asthma!!

I am sure if I had mine out sooner, I would not be battling cancer right now, mercury suppresses our immune system and beats the heck out of our endocrine system, it literally affects every system in our bodies. And then you add in a few root canals and you have a recipe for disaster.
