I had a visit from a friend last week,a man who is 35 yrs & who also has lots of fillings, and who has been sceptical of what I 've been telling him about mercury poisoning etc.
I told him about what I've been going through & and the trip to dentist etc.He then says "but what do they do with the fillings once they are out?That's toxic waste you know!"

You could see his face change as he realised what he had said,and is now considering getting them out 1 at a time...

I actually don't know what happens to the fillings once they are out.I will ask the dentist at the next visit.

I have been told by quite a few dentists what tracy just said.
they dump in areas unpopulated. just goes to show how dangerous it,i cant believe people still believe dentists when they say its safe. amalgam days are numbered though, its been in the newspapers a few times this year about the dangers, too little too late for me, my thyroid was ripped out because of it, il never get it back.

that sounds awfull.Do you still have any fillings ?I'm in Ireland ,there have been a few articles about "the possible health risks of mercury amalgams"but they were more like debates with the other side having more evidence &facts.
In fact the last article I read about it,the conclusion was to reassure people of the safety of the amalgams.
But the question is out there, the seed of doubt has been planted...
this is what happened with the MMR link to autism ,hundreds of parents were too scared to vaccinate there kids after that.
Any publicity is good,as people are becoming more &more
health conscious,they will ponder this question,&hopefully not take the risk.

hello sunflower, i had my amalgam fillings replaced 19mths ago, got most of them pulled out as they were root canals.
i have read that they cant prove amalgam is safe but it is proved unsafe because of peoples testimonies after removal, especially people who have been cured of M.S. The video "smoking tooth" proves that amalgam leaks out into the mouth, this was their argument, they said that it wouldnt leak if it was hardened but it does.
I have a newspaper cut out which i kept from the daily mirror some months ago, saying that amalgam is affecting peoples health, especially those in their 40s and 50s.
also in a womens magazine a few monthsago there was an article talking about candida, why we get it, and on the list was amalgam.
About the mmr, i was pestered to get my kids vaccinated, i didnt know fully about the real dangers, so i did it, but if it were now, i would laugh in their face. No vaccines for my kids now and i try and tell new parents about the dangers but they just give me that glazes over look!
At least we know what we know, we are pioneers.

I also have a child,who is 4,he got the first few vacinations as a tiny baby <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> and then as I read &saw more scary info on this I refused any further vacinations...
I don't feel guilty though because as soon as I had that info. that was it my mind was made up.
Sometimes other parents/doctors make me doubt this decision not to vacinate him & make me out to be a negligent parent. I breastfed my son for 10 months and he has been tested for food allergies and is on a great organic natural foods diet (when he's with me)but at weekends his Dad (we no longer live together)feeds him junk and thinks all this healthy eating is alot of rubbish.He also gives him the foods he was found to react adversely to incl.dairy &wheat-it's a very sad situation) it might sound like I'm sidetracking but it's all relevant as it effects his health...anyway when he's here with me Sunday to Friday,he gets a super diet with extra vits&mins &essential fats etc.And the odd time he gets a sniffle,he's recovered within 24hrs because his immune system doing what it should &I act fast and give him the various remedies

Given the right stuff,children heal at such an amazing rate.

I do worry about him,and especially as I am mercury toxic,what have I passed onto him, through pregnancy,through my milk ...
He seems like a happy,sociable,inteligent &healthy child,
A beautiful child.

At least if he turns out to have some mercury,other heavy metals,I am now better informed about what to do &how to help &I will also be understanding.
I did not have this understanding from my family&friends.
It's so important.

ps I have just read an older post by"mamaoftwo"asking about breastfeeding while mercury toxic,and it would appear from the replies there that I could have passed on alot of mercury through the milk.

That's really awfull,if it's true,about what happens to our fillings once they are removed.
I wonder what a better solution would be.
I know that ideally we should not have them in the first place
but this is so very wrong.

Dear Sunflower I dont know if you read it, but a few months ago the Daily Mail had a front page article. It said that all or loved ones we now have cremated have to have their Mercury fillings removed before because they found the toxic waste coming from the chimneys was so severe. We have to pay another £100 to do this, it makes me wonder cos the last two cremations we attended, we wernt allowed to see the coffin go through the curtain, but all had to leave the room. I feel so low today,have been crying for 2 hours.It is hard going through this &being a single mother too.
What set me off crying at first was the look my sons teacher gave me when we arrived late for school,and interupted the storytime.If she only knew the effort it took to get us both up &ready to get there.I came home and wrote a letter 4 teacher,
explaining that there were some issues at the moment...don't know if I shoul give it now though.
Can't stop crying.feel so low today after a good week since amalgams out last friday.

Teachers always give dirty looks when they are interruppted.... Don't worry about it, just let it go...

This is the post-removal low. U get the initial euphoria / numbness, then the low comes.
Emotions that have been suppressed can now release, so let it out!
That letter is a release of sorts too so keep it if u dont actually decide to post it.
Have a good cry as and when u feel u need to - any form of release like this helps, its not to be feared or avoided.

Of course you must take care of the biochemistry at this time too - its too early to start chelation, but keep a good intake of the all important B vitamins, zinc, magnesium, Vits C,D,E etc etc. Well i guess u already know this <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Just hang in there, stock up on tissues, keep reading and posting on here and all the other great mercury informative sites.

I felt much better after the tears,and writing the letter,even though I won't send it. Yes it's good to write this stuff down,
and I definitely agree about the tears being a release,I have never been the kind of person to supress that!
I managed to have a rest too before picking up my son,which helped alot.

You mentioned it being too early to start chelation?
I started on N.A.C in march 06,1 whole year before any fillings came out,and incresed sulphur foods,and took a lymph support homeoepathic remedy,and also a few weeks ago,(with half fillings gone)started taking L-Glutithione.
And eating great diet with lots of Vit C &multivits&minerals.x3 every day.
But I take no individual specific ones,such as D, E, Bs, magnesium, zinc or selenium.Maybe I should take these as well,at the moment I can't afford any tests but am cautious about messing with the balance of vit&min.
Last week I got the Hal Huggins & Andrew Cutler books
and am still reading through those, but I really don't feel like I'm lacking in any vitamins,I have been eating natural foods high in these specific nutrients.
I know people do not agree with some of the remedies I'm taking but I have been adapting it to suit me and am going to keep it on and see how it goes.
Most of the damage I've done is probably from trying to chelate with the fillings still in my teeth,as was recommended
to me. Had never thought it could make me worse or even heard of redistribution,but this explains alot.
Some of the Andy Cutler protocol sounds scary to me,I just feel like I want to stick with what I'm doing right now.
I'm actually scared by all the warnings and conflicting advice.
Is there anyone who actually knows?

I know it is scary. However you don't have to start with chelation. The first months of the cutler protocol (DMSA) will supress detox symptoms (in theory) but not increase mercury excretion significantly. If you don't feel like it don't chelate. The body will detox you naturally.

Relax and see how you feel.

I am also scared of all the chelation protocols myself. I have done the same as you with eating a good whole foods natural diet and uped my sulpher foods too. I take alot of vitamins and other supplements that i have hunted and researched and asked many questions about. All the health food stores here know me by name and one of them also wants me to go to work for them when I get better. I am afraid of all the chelating stuff and so this was the easiest and actually the cheapest way to go. Maybe as time goes on and I get a little stronger I will do some major chelating then but for now I am not going to push it. I am beginning to feel a little better...I still have those days tho. I also have those crying spells too. It sucks when it happens because it can be the most stupid little thing that sets me off. It happens mostly on those days that I feel really lousy. Just hang in there! It will get better....I believe that.

sunflower, im 19mths post removal, i cry almost everday still. mercury messes up hormones so badly, also i get so angry i could smash the place up, last sunday i was in such a rage,i was pulling my own hair out,i felt like a caged animal. Im getting all my hormones tested soon,i want to know whats happening so i can treat it.

Go slow Sunflower, don't be too hasty, I had my amalgams removed, a bad root canal out, lost my Dad and cousin to cancer, and my dog had to be put down all in the course of 2 years....and I ended up with cancer. Go slow sweetie, your body will need time to recoup and keep on doing what you are doing. Looking after your health and your baby is first and foremost, as long as you are doing a good diet, the mercury can wait. Clean up the candida and take some Rescue Remedy for those sensitive moments, all of us mercury-poisoned are super sensitive and those homeopathic remedies are life savers.

Yes,my job is to look after my health & be the best mother I can be.And at the moment that takes all the energy that I do have and more sometimes.
Yes I have bottles of that rescue remedy all over the place,it's fantastic,for me &my son too.If he has a fall or a tantrum,2 drops of that on his tongue &he is calmed very quickly.Or a few drops on his skin or head seems to work too.And if he has a fall or tantrum I need to take some aswell!
