I believe I replied at length to the Evolution of Man post here, as it had been without reply or challenge . . . I don't know when this happened, but my reply seems to have been wiped, and the thread locked. Can you explain this Russ? Has my reply been moved elsewhere?

If you found some of it objectionable I would have been happy to discuss your concerns as moderator and edit some changes in.

At the moment the implication seems to be that as the sole moderator, and a creationist, you have the power and the willingness to delete posts you don't like, and lock threads so that it is impossible to respond to the creationist claims that inevitably remain.

I think I need to ask, therefore, whether this whole area truly is what it claims to be: a place where people can freely discuss their views on creation and evolution. If dissent is unwelcome then maybe the name of this area needs to be changed to make it clear that it is for creationists alone and others need not apply.

It seems that you are drawing some deep and heavy-handed conclusions based on something I know nothing about. I certainly wish I knew more.

With all the Bible bashing and Christian bashing you do on this forum, I don't see where you would ever get the idea that I'm not fair about allowing others to express their opinions.

When I joined this forum, the "Evolution of Man Disproved in 50 Arguments" thread was open, not locked, and I wrote a lengthy reply to it over a couple of days when I had a lot of time on my hands. It is now gone and the thread is locked. These are the facts. I don't understand why my post vanished, but as the thread was locked as well, it seemed a reasonable assumption to make that you deleted the post and decided not to let anyone else, including me, reply to it.

There was a whole section I researched on mitochondrial Adam and Eve, and proto-languages. That was a lot of work. I'm irritated that it has vanished. Do you honestly not know how this could have happened?

My best guess is that locking the thread somehow cut it off, if you're indeed sure it was there. I do remember locking the thread quite a while ago as I normally do with sticky posts.

Nevertheless, you're welcome to copy the "50 arguments" post into your own new thread and respond to it at any time you please.

If it was simply a glich in the system or what have you, a thousand pardons. These things do happen. However it sure looked suspiciously like a measure to effectively silence a "disagreable" poster. And this, coupled with the fact that at least one person in the forum is openly permitted to flame without any recourse while others are given very distinct warnings, and it shouldn't be too difficult to understand that I or any others began to wonder.

That post had been there unchallenged for a long time, maybe a year or more, which is why I decided to spend that time I had in writing a refutation. By the way, why is a creationist claim like that on a locked thread anyway, if this forum asks people to say what they think? That's exactly what I did.

Not sure what else I can say. Maybe just ask you in the future to post things that are more recent than the 1930s. Science has moved on a bit from then and one or two discoveries have been made.

Posts can be deleted here? I am not used to such draconian suppression of opinion (unless it involves spam or flaming or the like).

Perhaps the lesson learned is to keep a copy of your posts in a text document
